mega thread What is your sexuality ?

I voted that I was heterosexual before, but never posted a response. I have changed my vote from hetero to unsure.

I've been talking to this guy a lot recently.(he's a former member but I won't say names, and don't ask, cuz I ain't tellin')

And we joke around on Skype and whatnot, in... playful ways. I started having some...feelings talking to him.

I've always been attracted to females, but I guess I never thought whether or not I'm Bisexual because I never thought about guys like that.

I'm gonna have to stick to unsure for now, and consider myself "curious".

I'll see what happens down the line and if I really am.

Dude I was exactly the same way.  It was really weird at first.  Just let yourself open up to yourself and dont hold back anything at all.  You dont need to say or do anything.  I did this and I realized I was bi.  I had such internal homophobia with the thought that I didnt want to be bi or gay or whatever I blocked out gay thoughts even though I supported everyone around me.  After I got rid of some of my internal preconceptions it was iluminated pretty quickly how I felt.  Will it be as easy?  I dont know but I think it would do good to do this simple thing.

Nitpicking: I cast the lot of asexual, but it's more like Hetero-romantic Asexuality. I'm all down for connecting with a sista, I'm just not interested in any physical manifestations of love/attraction.

Heterosexual, I think.

But I don't find myself attracted to women often and even then the attraction isn't really sexual.

It causes me to wonder if I might be either asexual or demisexual.

I guess I won't know for sure unless I meet someone I like and who likes me back so I voted for unsure.

I see a couple hundred people lied.
Excuse me? You don't know if people lied about being bisexual, please don't assume. People are going to call themselves what they want, you can't stop them from doing so.

Being bisexual is like being a half-elf -- both the homophobes and the gays despise and abuse you. You're gonna need that luck.
And that is jumping the gun to an extreme.

That was a joke about the plethora of gay porn in the brony fandom (not bisexual.)

So you're not aware of the horrible abuse bisexuals regularly suffer from gays?

Oh, ok, I see what you mean.

No, I was not aware, as I'm still trying to figure out my own sexuality.

No, I was not aware, as I'm still trying to figure out my own sexuality.

I can summarize the concept with a Marvel comic.

Basically, Marvel comics had a male character who had consistently been portrayed as holding relatively successful relationships with women. Once he began to be interested in men, a psychic entered his mind and effectively screamed at him that he was gay over and over despite his objections that he was quite obviously bisexual, and eventually, he went "haha guess I'm gay haha okay then."

(IIRC the psychic was Jean Grey, who had been taught up to this point never to enter people's minds unless it was really super important. So much for that!)

This caused a massive backlash because apparently that is exactly how bisexuals are treated by gays... minus the paranormal psychic invasion part of course. By allowing the character to magically turn gay in response to this mental torture, Marvel were effectively justifying that treatment and implying bisexuals were just gays in denial (despite openly showing interest in the same sex..?) and that they deserved what they got.

So yeah that's a thing that happened.

@@Lucky Shot, Alright then. Learn something every day I guess.

Anyway, I wouldn't take something like that from a comic book that's meant to entertain.

Oh I'm sure Marvel never intended any such message, but it was unfortunate how poorly it was executed.

I personally haven't experienced it myself but I know people who have.  people aren't used to sexualities beyond the binary ones they know and have come to understand.  Gay very recently. People just look at a person who identifies as bisexual and say, aren't you just gay or straight?  They dont understand it is possible to be into more than just guys or girls.

I'm done denying it.

I talked to my buddy some more, and he agrees.

I've really taken a liking to him. It's too bad he doesn't want a relationship with anyone, at least, not at the moment.

I am Bisexual, and I'm not going to deny it. I don't give a crap if other gays berate me.

I'd happily date, or the other thing, either sex. Never thought talking to another guy like that would make me discover things about myself. <3
