GalaCon Charity Auction:

At this time, the people over at Bronies for Good want in-kind donations for their upcoming charity auction, and they need your help! With the extra donations, they plan to run GalaCon for another two hours of charity auction extravaganza for their beneficiary Animal Equality!

This charity will continue to dedicate itself to the Seeds of Kindness fundraiser run by Bronies for Good, making this the fifth successive year the convention has supported them! A silent auction, followed by a quick sale on Saturday will allow people to bid on items they wish to own throughout most of the convention, then the live auction on Sunday will determine who will earn the most valuable items.

Contributing to the Charity Auction

To submit your item(s), you will need to go to the GalaCon charity auction page and then to  “Charity Auction 2017 – Item Registration Form.” It is advised that you fill out the form for every item, even if you decide to bring it along to the convention with you rather than mailing it. Don’t worry, you will be notified if your donation meets the requirements before carrying it to the convention!

How the Auction will work

There will be, in total, three auctions; the silent auction, the small charity auction held on Saturday and the big charity auction on Sunday before the closing ceremony.

The silent auction will run from Saturday until Sunday at about 1 p.m. Items will be presented in the gallery, along with a number marked onto them. You can place your bids on the numbered bidding lists. Then, after the silent auction, some of the items will be given into the two live auctions according to the value of said items. All other items are sold to the highest bidder according to the bidding lists. (An announcement will be made on Sunday afternoon with additional details and instructions.)

Both of the live auctions will run as such: Items are going to be presented on stage and will give you a chance to place a bid on said item by raising your hand. The item is then sold at the highest bid. Make sure to stay for the live auctions, even if the items at the gallery do not interest you, as there will be many more special and secret items that will not be showcased at the gallery nor in the catalogue! For detailed information, please read their charity auction rules and information regarding the silent auction, they will also provide information on registration and the overall process of the silent auction.
