I typically wear both. It depends on the season. In winter, I wear boxers and boxer-briefs, but in summer, I definitely wear briefs. (Or to be more specific, tighty whities. )

Same here. The summers get really hot here in Phoenix, Arizona, so I don’t see the point of unnecessary fabric covering my thigh. Also, at this time, I sometimes wear short pants that show my knees, and if I were to wear boxers or boxer-briefs under them my underwear would be visible if I were sitting or reclining. That’s a big no-no for me. On the flipside, if I were to go to some place that gets really cold in the winter, I like to wear boxer-briefs because they keep my hip region and thigh warm.
