PAWTUCKET, R.I. – June 30, 2017 – Today Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), a global play and entertainment company, unveiled additional programming details and VIP ticket packages for the first-ever HASCON FANmily event. Happening September 8 – 10, 2017 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, HASCON will bring Hasbro’s most iconic brands to life.

Joining the previously announced all-star line-up is James Gunn (writer and director, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 1 and 2) and musician Stan Bush (singer, “The Touch” from TRANSFORMERS: THE MOVIE). HASCON will also feature a headlining performance and meet and greet from Multi-Platinum GRAMMY® Award-Winning singer-songwriter Daya and an interactive sing-along with Sesame Street’s beloved Muppets Elmo and Abby Cadabby.

Previously announced talent includes appearances by DUDE PERFECT, Stan Lee (Marvel Comics Legend), Lorenzo Di Bonaventura (Producer of all the TRANSFORMERS films, as well as G.I. JOE: The Rise of Cobra and G.I. JOE: Retaliation); Peter Cullen and Frank Welker (original TRANSFORMERS voice talent); Andrea Libman and Cathy Weseluck (voice talent of MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC and MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE); and “Chewbacca Mom,” Candace Payne.

This unique event will bring Hasbro’s most iconic brands to life like never before, including TRANSFORMERS, MY LITTLE PONY, NERF, MAGIC: THE GATHERING, PLAY-DOH, MONOPOLY and G.I. JOE and exceptional partner brands such as BEYBLADE, DREAMWORKS TROLLS and SESAME STREET. Fans will get a peek behind the Hasbro curtain during the three days filled with exciting first-look previews and panels from Hasbro’s biggest television and movie series, including Hasbro’s TRANSFORMERS: RESCUE BOTS, LITTLEST PET SHOP and MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC as seen on Hasbro’s joint-venture television network Discovery Family.

In addition, there will be activities inspired by several iconic Disney properties, including Disney Princess, Frozen, Elena of Avalor, Moana and Descendants 2, as well as Star Wars and Marvel’s Avengers, Spider-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy. From movie props and costumes on display, to hands-on fun through art tutorials and more, these areas will be can’t-miss destinations during the show.

IDW Publishing’s Artist Alley will feature appearances from some of the industry’s most recognized comic illustrators, artists, and designers plus unique HASCON merchandise available for purchase. Ultra PRO, the leading brand of accessories for tabletop gaming, sports memorabilia and pop culture collectibles is the supporting provider of Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons activities, providing HASCON guests exclusive access to custom Magic: The Gathering event prizes and HASCON exclusive playmats, plush dice, deck boxes and learn-to-play participation gifts.

General Admission ticket holders will be treated to an exciting array of activities including: interactive brand experiences, panel discussions, meet and greets, musical guest performances, cosplay activities, a Hasbro passport tour and scavenger hunt, larger-than-life Hasbro games, a HASCON commemorative program and an opportunity to audition for Hasbro television commercials.

• TRANSFORMERS Hall of Fame Dinner – Friday 6:30 pm

Be part of the first ever HASCON Transformers Hall of Fame dinner and induction ceremony with a surprise guest.  Enjoy a sit-down dinner and experience an exclusive live performance from Stan Bush, a welcome with Peter Cullen and Frank Welker, and a sneak preview of select 2018 Transformers toys shared by the Transformers design and brand teams. 

• My Little Pony Mane Event: Hall of Our FANmily Dinner – Friday 6:30 pm

Enter the world of Equestria at the first-ever My Little Pony HOOF (Hall of Our FANmily) Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The HOOF inductees will include special guests and surprise honorees who have left their hoofprint on the brand.

• G.I. Joe Legends Dinner – Friday 6:30 pm

Join co-emcees and G.I. Joe authors Derryl DePriest and Dan Klingensmith for an intimate and entertaining evening event featuring one of the greatest gatherings of G.I. Joe Legends ever assembled! As we celebrate the 35th Anniversary of the launch of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line, enjoy a sit-down dinner, meet and mingle with Legends and listen to them discuss their experiences on G.I. Joe. 

• Stories with Stan – Saturday 11:30 am

This is your chance to sit down with Stan Lee, a true comic book legend!  As one of this generation’s greatest storytellers, Stan will share his tales to astonish about the creation of pop culture icons including Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, Thor, the X-Men and many more – EXCELSIOR!  Stories with Stan attendees are guaranteed to receive a pre-signed autograph poster from Stan Lee commemorating his HASCON visit and a surprise gift.  Lunch will be served.

• Transformers: The Last Knight Movie Event

Join celebrities and producers, including Lorenzo di Bonaventura and Brian Goldner, from Transformers: The Last Knight to celebrate the home entertainment release and view special Bonus Footage.  Enjoy light refreshments and a special video message from a surprise celebrity. 

• My Little Pony: The Movie Sneak Peek – Saturday 6:15 pm

Be one of the first to catch a sneak peek of the upcoming My Little Pony: The Movie. Listen to film discussions with Head Storyteller Megan McCarthy and participate in a Q&A session with surprise celebrity talent, enjoy light refreshments, and enter a raffle for a chance to win My Little Pony merchandise.

If I didn't have plans that are going to yield an infinitely better time with close friends of the family (that start literally the last day of this Con) I would  possibly consider attending this for just the Star Wars 40 Years of Play panel. 

However, even the Star Wars toy call can't pull me from Mickey, Palm Trees, a crazy German inventor, and the Bane of All Hippies. 

If someone goes to this from here, let me know though, I may have a mission for you.

The following highlights some of the activities for Hasbro’s brands and licensed properties happening within the Hasbro booth (#3213) and around the convention. TRANSFORMERS

The TRANSFORMERS panel, held 11:00am-12:00pm on Thursday, July 20^th, will get the collectors excited as the team provides an exclusive glimpse of the latest and greatest toys that have yet to hit shelves from the TRANSFORMERS: GENERATIONS POWER OF THE PRIMES product line. Fans will also be able to go behind the scenes of the TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT film line, as well as the movie Masterpiece Collection. In addition, members of the TRANSFORMERS team will host a Q&A session to answer some of your burning questions.

Other exciting TRANSFORMERS brand booth activities include a poster giveaway for TRANSFORMERS: GENERATIONS, along with a glimpse at upcoming products across the TRANSFORMERS portfolio.

 

MY LITTLE PONY
The MY LITTLE PONY brand is returning to Comic-Con this year with extra special activities for everypony as Hasbro anticipates the exciting premiere of MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE, which will be released by Lionsgate on October 6^th. Making her premiere at the Hasbro booth will be a dazzling eight-foot tall statue of Songbird Serenade; fans can get up close to the new character, voiced by singer-songwriter Sia in MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE. Fans can also dive into Seaquestria with a one-of-a-kind photo opportunity or get “Ponified” at the Hasbro booth at special “Ponification Stations” where make-up artists will apply Cutie Marks and “ponified” hair and nails for fans of all ages.

The MY LITTLE PONY panel on Friday at 10:30 a.m. will feature the cast and creatives behind MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE and will include a sneak peek at the upcoming film followed by a Q&A. Word around Equestria is that there may be a surprise guest! After the panel, fans can meet the MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC voice talent for an autograph signing in the Hasbro booth.

Other exciting MY LITTLE PONY brand booth activities include giveaways each day, nail art demos featuring China Glaze’s new MY LITTLE PONY nail polish collection, autograph signings with voice talent, Little Brown authors and Enjoi Skateboarding artists, a live drawing session with IDW artists, and more.

 

MAGIC: THE GATHERING
This year, MAGIC: THE GATHERING fans will be treated to a series of high profile autograph sessions at the Hasbro Booth with game designer James Wyatt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, head designer Mark Rosewater at 10:00 a.m.. and artist Tyler Jacobson at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, and artist Brandon Holt at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Holt illustrated the screen print of Nicol Bolas, produced in collaboration with Mondo and part of the brand’s Comic-Con exclusive 2017 Planeswalker Pack. The exclusive also includes six Planeswalker cards with artwork from Vincent Proce. The set will retail for $180 and is available at the Hasbro Toy Shop.

Rosewater will also appear at a one-man panel on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. in Room 25ABC in which he re-creates his popular blog about MAGIC: THE GATHERING, “Blogatog,” and participates in an audience Q&A.

 

MARVEL
Hasbro will offer fans several exciting brand experiences surrounding their favorite Super Heroes and Villains from the MARVEL Universe. On Saturday, July 22^nd from 5:00pm-6:00pm, Hasbro and MARVEL will discuss exciting news around Hasbro’s popular MARVEL Legends lineup. Attendees will also get a sneak peek at upcoming MARVEL action figures, followed by a Q&A.

Additional Hasbro MARVEL brand booth activities include an autograph session with Joe Quesada - comic book artist and editor, Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Entertainment, and Executive Producer of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and MARVEL’S Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Agent Carter. Joe also provided new original art for Hasbro’s MARVEL LEGENDS SERIES 12 INCH DAREDEVIL convention exclusive. There will also be an autograph session with Magic: The Gathering artist Tyler Jacobson also who created the epic packaging art on Hasbro’s MARVEL LEGENDS SERIES BATTLE FOR ASGARD 5-PACK convention exclusive.

 

STAR WARS
Hasbro will share its latest STAR WARS news from a galaxy far, far away with fans from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Friday, July 21^st, providing an in-depth look at Hasbro’s latest action figure offerings and several fun surprises including a special product reveal. The Hasbro STAR WARS team and designers will also host a Q&A with fans in the audience following the presentation to address the latest product news.

At the Hasbro booth, fans can partake in daily Lightsaber Training, show off their best Star Wars cosplay at the STAR WARS Costume Showcase and will also have the chance to get their hands on a poster giveaway (while supplies last) only available at the Hasbro booth in collaboration with diorama artist Stephen Hayford.

OK, what we got: Some movie info as expected, and some minor spoilers, BUUUUUUUUUUUT: we also have:

- S8 animatic

-Preview of Isn't the Mane Thing About You AND Marks and Recreation; with the surprising role of antagonist for Rumble, the cute filly-looking younger brother of Thunderland. His voice is also changed, instead of high pitched, it has been said that voice is from a bratty colt only heard in a Christmas pony album list year I think  . If true, maybe our favorite waifu thief will finally voice a character everyone likes  

-S8 animatic, showing that Chrysy will carry out her revenge

-We will see at least one seapony in S8. It's mildly surprising considering we didn't expect something from the movie to carry out the show, but makes sense. Unlike the movie where they're keeping things simple for new audience to understand, the same thing doesn't apply from movie to show. Same thing happens with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the movies won't refer to the shows, but same thing don't apply vice-versa, as the shows expect you to be up to date with the movies
