Lifinda's P.O.V.

In a patch of velvety moss I lie. The wind blows softly over me carrying a fragrance of the morning breeze. As I stroke the moss I make a reluctant decision to stand up. As I do I start to walk. This peace was wonderful and allowed one to release any tensions of normal life. Then the wind stops.

I hear a sound like flames. I look around then up. What I see stopped me dead. There was a dozen flaming speaks that were hurdling towards the Earth. I wanted to run but I was stuck to the ground. I felt a dread come through my body as one hurdled straight for me. It past over my head by only a few yards. The meteor crashed an with of a mile from me. I felt pulled to it then. As the rest of the shower continued, I kept walking. As I got closer I could see that it was not a meteor but a box of sorts. When I got within 5 yards of it, something sounded and I saw a man look out of it. I started to say hello when-

Beep! Beep! Went my alarm. I looked over and saw it read 6:30 am. Without giving the dream another thought I slowly got out of bed. After reaching the kitchen, I fixed myself one third of a French press of coffee and breakfast. It was a modest breakfast of two eggs, toast, and  black coffee.  Being that it was a work day, I walked to get my work outfit from my dresser. It was a tan knee length skirt and a simple navy polo with the logo for 'Walmart'. A flattering job.. as soon as I got done with my preparations I walked to my 2003 Buick Century and made my way to work.

My life is very mundane honestly. I hope that one day I can travel to somewhere beyond this small town of Mayleane. But you need money to travel. I work a ten hour job of stocking shelves and customer service. Ten dollars an hour though. Work goes on  six days a week and work diligently too. The one day I get off I take to get things organized. I have no other down time really. I am always to tired to do anything else when I get home.

After my first four hours, I was allowed a lunch break. I bought a small pack of pepperoni hot pockets and a small case of water, and headed to the break room. If anyone else wanted to eat, they could have some. There was a microwave that I used, and waited five minutes after it was done cooking so it could cool down. I got myself a water and drank half of it before I ate my hot pocket. The bottle was emptied after I finished and I got back to work. The only remotely interesting thing that happened, was that I heard someone speaking about the advances in the race to Mars. How I wish I could be in such a voyage.

After work, the sun started to descend in the sky. I decided since tomorrow is my day off I would go out to the countryside and look at the stars. I find my favorite spot and get out to sit on the hood of my car. Stargazing was one of my favorite things to do. That is one of the things I can do to escape the mundane of this world. The stars are always a mystery and let my imagination soar. Especially tonight.

The first thing that happened was a strange noise. It sounded like a wheezing car trying to start but more smooth and rhythmic. Next I saw a flash that smoothly came and went. I then saw something else. It was a box! Once it stopped phasing in and out, it looked like a rectangular silhouette against the star speckled sky. Sliding off my Centuries hood, I started to advance towards the mysterious box. All of a sudden I saw a man step out and look around. What in the world is this?!

Doctor's P.O.V.

as the central control panel starts acting up, I begin to hear the cloister bell ring and everything shuts down. "great, now there's no way of checking where I'm going.."

The Tardis had recently entered the Earth's gravitational field, and without a working dematerialization lever, I could do nothing. I attempted to run to the safety containment shelter a few rooms down from the library. Although I fell a few times, I eventually made it and strapped myself to the west padded wall. The safety containment room was meant to house passengers in time of a malfunction of the Tardis by providing soft padded surfaces to lay against and an airtight door to adjust air pressure when entering gas filled atmospheres, but there was nothing I could do about the tardis' helpless falling, so why not keep myself from harm as well. After hearing the familiar sound of the cloister bell, the tardis finally hit ground. I released myself from the strap holding me to the wall and walked to the exit.

When i stepped out to see a vehicle that seemed to be abandoned, until I saw a woman standing there and looking at me with confused eyes. This had happened so many times, i knew exactly what to say! "hello miss!"

Lifindas P.O.V.

After I heard him talk to me I was astonished. I dints know what to except. But of course I have to be polite and answer back. "H-hello? Who are you?" I maybe should have waited to ask him that but it just kinda slipped out.

this was which a strange question to ask. But she was obliged to answer it. "2017... I must say that is such a strange question to ask. Why is it that you ask that?" She asked the question genuinely.

@Lunarpalette

I've had plenty enough people questioning why i ask the year, but I knew yet again, the same answer i give them all, "Well it's my ship behind me, it's called a Tardis. It can take me anywhere in time and space. I'm here because I got a distress call from a friend of mine." Realizing where I was and where I could be, I asked another question, "I really need to get someone to help me move my ship, so if you would like, you could come along and we can talk maybe?" Looking anxiously at the car behind her, i assumed it was her's but wouldn't dare asking a stranger to let me ride with them.

I didn't know what to say to this. A strange man coming out of thin air in a strange ship? And he travels through space and time?! This was almost to good to be true. I did want to help him and as a good person I was going to but you can't be to careful around strangers. "Sure." I said in a cautious tone. "What can I do to help?"

well, i might as well ask, it seemed like the distance between us and civilization was in the miles, and the tardis wasn't going to move anywhere. "well, as you can see, we are a bit far away from any towns, and my only mode of transportation is broken down, and you seem to have one that works, so if it isn't to difficult for you, would you mind if i rode along?"

This was risky for a stranger but I already am helping him so I replied. "Sure. I'm sorry I didn't ask if you needed a ride before. Oh I forgot to tell you my name. My name is Lifinda." And out of habit I stretched my hand out to shake his.

glad to see someone so open to communication, I reached out my hand as well and gave a firm shake. "Nice to meet you Lifinda! Forgive me for not asking, I'm open to questions you may have on our way to the nearest town, I figure you are not short on anything to ask about!"

I was happy with this. "Ok. Well hop into my car and I'll take you to Mayleane. It's where I live." And I also thought it is late so he might need a place to stay. That would take a lot of trust to let him into my house so I decided that I would take this time to get to know him. That or maybe he just needs to get some supplies for his ship. "Also, do you need to go somewhere specific?"

@Lunarpalette

As we were entering the car, she asked the first question, I figured I had a pretty good idea. "I'd like to check around for anyone who has the equipment to move the Tardis closer to a town of which i can stay at for the time being. So, whatever you have in mind would be a good place to start." If there was nothing that could be done however, I could just find something to throw over the Tardis to hide it. Considering my recent adventure, there's nothing to prove that there won't be any foreign species looking for me. And the tardis would be the first hint as to where I am.

I thought on this for a minute. "I guess we could try and find a hardware store. I don't know if there would be any open at this time of night but who knows." I also thought of a question to ask him. "So you said that, that machine, The TARDIS? Could travel time and space? Kinda hard to believe. But I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for now." It did sound crazy. I would really like to believe him because that would be absolutely amazing, but I need a little bit mire than the word of a stranger. Though the longer we talked though, the less he bacame a stranger.

@Lunarpalette

It was certainly nice getting to know this individual. Since there seemed to be not as many questions now, I decided to try and ease her confusion on the Tardis. "The Tardis is a ship from my home planet named Gallifrey. It's model is a Type 40 TTCapsule. One of the only 500 of that model ever manufactured by the race of the TimeLords. The name Tardis is an acronym my granddaughter came up with that stands for Time and Relative Dimension in Space. It is too difficult to explain how it does what it does when speaking to humans, I prefer to go along the term of Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey!" I glance forward as a silly grin is stretched across my face.

I couldn't help but laugh a bit at that grin. He seemed like a trustworthy person. I kept driving doing my best to think of as many good questions as I could. Then I remembered how he mentioned his home planet. "So then... are you an alien technically? And what is you planet Gallifrey like?"

Hearing the laughter of someone after my long journey in the Tardis was very comforting. However it was not long before there was another question asked and I gave my answer with as much thought possible. "well, in your terms yes. An 'alien' is really just something strange and foreign. So in your opinion, yes I am an alien, but I wouldn't consider myself an alien mainly because I don't prefer the term. And for my home, Gallifrey, it was nice. It had a great glow to the atmosphere, and although not being civilized much around the planet, There was a large city called the Citadel. It was surrounded by a spherical dome of glass that was surrounded, yet again, with a field of plasma to keep out unwanted visitors. I had lived in that city for a little bit before leaving to go find some adventure." After saying that last statement, I felt a large cloud of sadness befall me after recalling my departure from my planet. Holding back my sadness I looked slightly away to see that we were nearing the town.

Lifinda glanced over to see a slight saddened look on his face but decided not to question it. She knew how it must have felt. When she too left her home she was saddened but she had to. She was an adult and she needed to make her own way in the world. As they wnetered the city she looked around for any hardware stores or stuff if the sort. Most everything was closed at this time of night. It was in fact 12:31 am. "I don't know if we are going to find much of anything open at this time of night for you to fix your TARDIS. Do you need a place to stay for the night?

Trying to get my mind off home I gave yet another silly answer, "well, i see you have a few benches here, maybe I can rest on one?!" this answer was incredibly stupid.. But, I've already been let in her car, but I wasn't going to up and ask if I could stay in her house Unless she offered. but if it came to it, I was prepared to sleep on a bench if needed.

I was shocked to say the least. He offered to sleep on a bench?! No. Not while I am helping him. "Nonsense, I have a spare bedroom. You can sleep there. Since I found you and am helping you I am in charge of making sure you get what you need. And a good nights rest is probably one of those things." I said to him assertively.

startled at the sudden response, I was happy to know that someone would let me stay in their home. "well, thank you very much Lifinda! I'd be honored to stay at your, settlement." I then gleefully returned my head to face the house we were about to arrive at.

I did feel good about have a guest over I do have to say. And this gentleman did seem nice enough. Didn't seem like he would cause any trouble. I think I will trust him enough to stay here. As I pulled into my driveway I parked my car and got my purse from the back. I led the way into my house. Sadly it wasn't really prepared for guests but I didn't have bunch of stuff anyways and I usually wasn't one to just leave much out of sorts. The only thing was I hadn't taken the trash out and I still had my breakfast plate and coffee on the table. So I quickly put those into my dish washer and said, "Make yourself at home. If there is anything I can get you let me know. And the guest room is back here." I walked down to the hallway and showed him the second door on the right. I entered the room just to make sure that it wasn't to messy. I threw away a few prices of trash I saw and put away a couple of books that I saw lying around. Otherwise there wasn't much else to do. "Should be ready for you now. Did you want anything to eat?" I offered.

The question ringed in my mind. I hadn't given notice to how truly hungry I had been. "actually, I had been quite the fan of these things!" I said as I handed her a list that read.

  • Jammie Dodgers
  • Fish sticks & custard
  • Jelly babies
  • Bacon and eggs
  • Brittish stuff
  • anything but pears, I hate pears.

I think the list was pretty self-explanatory. Hopefully some of these things were in supply.

I looked at the list slightly amused. There were a few of these things that I can make. I knew I couldn't just find custard at any store but thankfully I actually knew how to make homemade custard. I was kind wanting some custard at the moment too actually. And I did have fish sticks in the freezer. So I thought that would be a good choice. "So you just keep this list with you? That's awesome." I stated as I looked at the list. "I can make the fish sticks and custard. I don't have any custard but I can actually make it. And I have some teas that you may like. i mostaly have Green tea, oolong tea, Earl Grey and Vanilla chi. Any of those sound good?" I said as I started the hot water in the stove and got my stuff to make the custard.

I was having a hard time deciding between the teas, I knew I had had all of them once before in my time line, but with my regenerations happening every so often, I could not figure what I still had a taste for. "I'll try all of them!" I blurted out, what better time to try them again than now!

my Eyes grew wide at this request. "Well ok then! I'll make sure I keep the hot water going. I think I'll have some oolong my self.  Do you take any sugar or sweetener in you tea?" I asked while I added my ingredients together for the custard. Then I also got the fish sticks from the freezer and turned the oven on. Better to have them in the oven rather than just nuking them.
