Royal Family Related Fan Theories

Okay, so I wanted to learn more about Celestia, Luna, and the history, so I started looking stuff up online. Still never found a whole lot, other than the Journal Of The Two Sisters official book (totally gonna get that). Plz reply with any theories or details you have... I need to know

I have also never read the Journal, but my head canon back before it was released was that the unicorn King/Queen adopted Celestia and Luna into the royal family in order to legitimize their rule to the rest of the unicorn tribe. So any other princes or princesses (like Blueblood) were descendants of the original royal family, no blood relation to the Alicorn sisters.

It's a really old idea I had though, and not one I take seriously anymore.

I always just assumed they were originally Unicorns, but Starswirl discovered the Alicorn spell and the spells that raise and lower the sun/moon and applied them to the sisters.  They are described as unicorns in the intro to the very first episode, after all...
