What do the ranks mean? First I was muffin, now I'm cupcake. What does that mean? Should I even be concerned with this?

I think you shouldn't be concerned over it. It just means you have a minimum number of posts. Cupcake means you are over the 40 posts and by 100 you will get the parasprite rank.

It means that you have posted enough so your rank is improved. When you reach a certain amount of posts, your rank goes up.

The first few ranks open sections of the forum to you when you reach them. After the Parasprite rank, the rest are just neat-looking milestones that show how active you've been on the forum.
