Gaming Impressive games for specific engines

Recommended Posts

There are tons of game engines out there. Some cutsom made, others are widely used by a lot of developers. Particular engines have there own strengths and weaknesses as expected, but there are games out there that are a brilliant showcase for those specific engines.

That's the question. Are there any games you think are good showcases for specific engines?

The inspiration for this thread was the game SUPERHOT, which runs on the Unity engine. It is probably the most impressive Unity game I have played with its awesome mechanics and bright visuals, not to mention the particle effects.

I would have to say the Real Virtuality 4 Engine is one of the most impressive engines i have ever seen. It is developed exclusively by Bohemia Interactive for its Arma military simulation series and the capability of that engine is incredible. Capabilities aside Arma 3 is also the most visually impressive game i have played to date. Even for it being a 2013 title the beautifully rendered graphics makes you want to just stop and ogle the environment.

Guilty Gear Xrd's characters look like they're from a real anime. Even the animations seem to run at what looks like 24 frames/second

It uses Unreal Engine 3

The background doesn't look very anime though
