Well here's my test and it seems like I come close to being a Liberal despite catering to die-hard conservative values . So, I guess I come across being a Centrist with some left-wing moments.

It hardly matters as I persevere till death to be an Independent Absolute Truth-Seeking Moderate.

It's more just an estemation of were you are. Though personally I feel like mine is very close to my actual views. I do have socialist and anarchist leanings.

Ah, the Political Compass.

Hmm. I've moved a tiny bit to the Right since the last test a year ago..

I still am and still consider myself a Centrist though.

I was rather surprised at the results. I consider myself a moderate, but most people would probably call me "alt-right."

I'm ashamed to admit that I was forced to look up certain terms; perhaps my results were skewed because of gaps in my knowledge.

Well, well, well. Looks like I'm a little left-leaning. @Kings&Hooves14 It seems we have near identical political compass. Of course mine's just slightly skewed more left, but sits higher up on the y-axis, but it was still significant enough for me to notice how close we are politic-wise.

Well... seems fairly accurate. I'm fairly center when it comes to left vs right, but I'm generally against government control (with exceptions of course). I usually describe myself as a "soft libertarian" or classical liberal.

Oh this.

I've done this before.

I'm also in the lower left quadrant, about 4 up, 3 across if I remember rightly.

However I find that this is more accurate the closer to the centre you go, as I am basically in the same place as my sister yet we can have some rather different political opinions every now and then. So the accuracy of this thing is debatable, mostly accurate, but debatable.

It also lacks explanation:

  • It can make everyone deep into the Green appear to be an Anarchist to people in blue or red. (I am not an anarchist, yet I am VERY deep into the green)
  • It makes everyone somewhat deep into red look like Soviet Comrade Communists to people in blue or purple.
  • It can make everyone deep into the blue look like right-wing Super Capitalists to people in the green and red.
  • No one is kinda sure what purple is because there's a lack of real world examples.

For the above stated reasons, I prefer a different test; instead of 2 axes (left-right, authoritarian-libertarian) it essentially has four.

It is this: https://8values.github.io

And this is me:

I guess that's about what I expected, though I always considered myself more conservative leaning with regard to economics.

Yeah, the Political Compass test isn't so great at capturing all factors. It has its uses though; it's good for broader analysis, but when you want more statistical detail you might need another test.

I find this whole spectrum thing ridiculous.  Left/Right is not independent from being Authoritarian/Libertarian.  Politics is a spectrum; not a coordinate sheet.

Anyway, here's mine just so my post doesn't get removed.

Indeed, it is rather rare to encounter 'purples' because of that. For example, Hitler ranks centre on the left-right, but full authoritarian, despite classically being depicted as Maximum Right-Lord.
