Triple Threat says that Thorax is having assertiveness issues. But why? The season 6 finale shows him perfectly willing to stand against Chrysalis after her defeat, and even as far back as his very first appearance, he had no problem telling Spike he was upset with him.

That's explained: he has no trouble standing up for his friends, but enforcing his rules makes him nervous. Although it didn't seem like he would need to learn to tell Spike he was upset.

Once a drone, always a drone. Anyone can choose to stand against Chrysalis but that doesn't make one a leader. A hive needs a queen.
