   His magical abilities are naturally moderate so he relies on numerous high level enchantments and mystical objects in order to perform more advanced techniques. He specializes in magical circles, runes, wards, exorcisms, and elemental magic. He doesn’t use a lot of magic unless he has to as he knows the consequences of overextension. Preferring to con, bluff, and bulls**t his way out of situations of which he is not in control. His raw power is boosted and focused through numerous tattoos under his fur (achieved by shaving down to the bare skin and letting it grow back over naturally). As well as rings, bracelets, and other jewelry. 

 

 Personality: He’s cynical, snarky and pragmatic. A reluctant anti-hero who has little patience for false hopes and rampant idealism. A silver tonged trickster, he is not above using or sacrificing others for the greater good (also occasionally for his own selfish motives, justifying this by weighing his own value in the fight against evil over others). He will do anything and trick anyone in order to keep mystical balance or save his own hide. In his eyes, the ends definitely justify the means. His hard and seemingly uncaring exterior is a front for his own deep insecurity and heavy guilt stemming from his past deeds. These past actions currently motivate him to try to atone for what he believes are stains on his soul. This motivation frequently leaves him prone to reckless behavior that all too often results in him gambling with his own life and most of the time the lives of others as well (Like transferring a demonic pestilence onto an entire city in a magical game of chicken). Or bouts of overprotective borderline mania whenever one of his few friends is in danger. Willing to go so far as to make disadvantaging pacts and deals with less than savory beings in order to keep them safe. His personality and behavior often has a divisive effect on others. The abundance of charisma and persuasiveness allows him to make friends easily. However those who spend any extended length of time with him tend to either despise him completely, or become his friends but have a good handful of things that they will never trust him with EVER. Ironically with many of his associates it’s a mixture of both. He never seems to have a simple relationship with anyone as it inevitably turns into something more layered and complex.

Backstory: Elias was born in Abyssinia to a poor family. His father was a librarian and owner of a small book store in order to support the cubs. His mother left after his younger brother was born due to their father’s meager earnings and tendency to absorb himself in literature at the expense of his family. When he was 10 and his brother, Flint was 9 his father came into possession of a book on magic theory. Elias was instantly intrigued, soon he studied every book he and his brother could get their paws on (both by legal and illegal means) about all aspects of magic, both light and dark. To try and help their financial situation the brothers turned to using magic on the streets. Either as performers, or con men. They made friends with another street hustler, an ocelot named Julia. She ran away from home at a young age and had since been picked up as a beggar/street rat by a ruthless puma called Marco. Elias, instantly smitten, spent his days teaching her magic and trying to get her out of Marco’s care. One day when Elias was 17 and Flint was 16, they were making their usual nightly routine on the unsuspecting drunkards of a pub on Julia's beat when they heard a loud crash and screaming coming from an abandoned building. They ran into the house to investigate and what they saw was horrifying. Julia, fed up with Marco's treatment and abuse of her, had accidentally summoned a demonic entity while trying to place a curse on him. Elias and his brother, hatched a plan. He summoned his own, stronger demon in order to defeat Julia's. But in the resulting battle Julia was killed. Because she was killed by the entity Elias had summoned his soul was damned to tartarus for murder. However, in an effort to appease the demon, Flint stepped up and offered the monster a deal. He would give up his own soul and be sent to tartarus in exchange for Elias' life. The monster agreed and a deal was struck.  Despite Elias vehemently protesting and refusing to accept the agreement. He watched as his only brother was dragged into an eternity of torment for a mistake he had made. Since that day Elias has poured himself into magic and dedicated his life to exorcising demons. To hopefully, one day be able to bring his brother back from tartarus.
