--- Horror fanfiction of cartoon shows? Like MLP, there are infamous horror fanfictions of every cartoon. From demons to cannibalism, there are horrible things written about even the most innocent cartoons.  What are some horrid fanfictions have you read/hear of in other fandoms? What do you think of fanfictions like those overall? Tell us!

I care about story and writing quality over content. I have read mature stories, both sexual and violent, of ponies. While it is true that many rely on shock value like Cupcakes, I have read many good ones as well. In short, I don't mind

I think it's twisted. Children's media is created for children and if an adult can not enjoy it for what it is and have to twist it into something sick, then they need to sit down and realize that maybe it's not for them to begin with. At the very least keep it far, far, far away from the children who are enjoying the product for what it is (which the Brony community was notoriously bad with this back in the early to mid 2010s). Also keep it far away from me, as well.

Most of the time it's super cheesy and cliche when I see it but I like a horror twist when it's well written :3

My favorite story of this sort are Lovecraftian crossovers because it's fun to see how characters from series x react to the bleakness of the setting. Who adapts, who loses it, etc. There was a MLP cosmic horror I read years ago; I think it was called The Stars Will Aid In Their Escape? It's a trip if you're into that kinda thing

That depends on the quality of the writing. A horror story that spouts blood everywhere every 6 seconds and constantly goes in depth about gore and how scared everyone is is a comedy. Writing a horror can be difficult especially for new writers, because they fall into traps that take away from the shock factor. This goes doubly for a cartoony horror story.

And that’s the bottom line, ‘cause Stone Cold said so!

The same as any other genre. If it's written well (a spooky atmosphere to keep the reader on the edge of their seats), then it's good. If it's written poorly (relying on too many overused tropes and cliches), then it's not good.

Personally, I enjoy a good horror story once in a while.

I don't read fanfiction, but if I did, it would have to be very good. I don't mind horror.

Well, I can't really see why you need to put MLP characters into weird things like cannibalism to begin with. Unless it is to provoke disgust for some kind of political message. Else it is just sick in my opinion.

Cupcakes was one of the weirdest and most horrible things I’ve ever read (and I watched the video when I was 11 thinking it was going to be nice, too!). I don’t mind Rainbow Factory though cause it isn’t scary to me.
