Equipment suggestions

Hello my friends. Well, this show did it again and got me feeling creative and ambitious. Hopefully this time it will stick. On that note, I have been wanting to start my own Youtube channel all the way back during season 2 when Brony reviews were starting to take off. Since then I've expanded the scope of my project considerably to talk about narrative media review in general, movies, games, shows, that kind of thing. And in specific contexts that I think a niche market exists for that I haven't seen myself and think I could provide. All that being said, I want to start off on a good foot so I need some help in terms of what I'll need for my shows.

First of all, what is some good video editing software? Particularly a program that ultra-simplifies video and sound editing for a tech-dummy like me. Second of all, what's a good but relatively inexpensive camera I can buy for actual shooting? I don't need perfect HD, just something that will be able to capture me without a lot of blurring or pixelation.

Thanks ahead of time.

For video editing on PC, if you want to pay for the software, I would recommend Sony/MAGIX's Movie Studio HD (for starters) or Vegas Pro (if you want to do more).

If you are looking for a free solution, I can also recommend either DaVinci Resolve or Hitfilm Pro.

Now for cameras, this all goes down to preference, so the best way I can answer that question for you is to send you links to the most appropriate articles/videos that should help you make a better decision for what you are looking for.

Almost done! Don't stop reading yet! I must let you know 2 more things before you do anything further.

1. In order for cameras to take the best image quality they can possibly capture, they need light. So the more light there is in the place(s) of recording, the better. Natural lighting is always good. Though when things are going well, you should then invest in a lighting kit if you are willing to take it more seriously from there.

2. Good quality sound is critical! Having great or poor video quality is one thing, sound quality, however, is inexcusable! You must also get yourself a decent-quality microphone to compliment your new camera. Whether it be from a gaming headset, a desktop microphone, or even a lapel microphone either connected to the camera, computer, or plugged into a voice recorder.

Links to some of these will be here:

Lapel Microphones (you can choose which ones): http://amzn.to/2wBUImC or http://amzn.to/2xEWFM8

You're welcome in advance. ;)
