The age old question: Which pet is better? Dogs or cats?

Personally, I think cats suit me more than dogs. Do I hate dogs? NO! Would I completely refuse to own one? NO! I may feel more connected to cats but that doesn't mean dogs are bad. Same thing with all animals. I'm tired of people going to war online with the "dogs vs cats" thing. ITS STUPID AND RIDICULOUS!!! No animal should suffer because YOU think they should and because YOU think one is superior to the other. Get off your high horse! Trust me, I understand why some people would hate one or the other. Both have flaws but they both have wonderful things about them too!  They are both living thing of this world. Treat them BOTH as such even if you like one more for personal reasons. 

Sorry for the rant. I'm curious, do any of you agree or disagree with me? Which is your favorite (dogs or cats)?

Well I'm sort of 50/50 between the two as I equally love all animals! Plus my parents don't want to have any of those two because of the fur in the house. But still I've got my next door neighbor's cat Muffin to snuggle with still and she just wonders over to our place!

I prefer cats over dogs, I’m definitely a cat person. We all are, considering we have 8 cats.  But dogs are adorable and I would love to have one someday. I love every single animal equally, just cats a biiiiiit more.

I am most definitely a dog person. Especially since about ten years ago. I love dogs, especially English and French bulldogs and must always have one (or more) in my life!

Personally, I just don't find cats as appealing. I don't dislike them or anything, but I have a hard time finding the majority of them to be cute.

For those who base their decisions on character and activity, it depends on the breed.

There are cat breeds that need daily exercise, they can tear up the place if you don't let them have that. There are also dog breeds that're very agreeable, lazy or rebellious.

Me, personally, I grew up around dogs and like them very much, especially the big ones you can cuddle and pat and play-fight all you want. I love cats too, sadly I'm allergic to them so I can't live with one, but petting one once in a blue moon doesn't do me any harm.

Reptiles. Even though they don't bondthe same way, or really not at all with people, I find them fascinating, beautiful animals. Sadly I do not/have not owned one before, but I hope to do so one day.

 

I also have gained an interest in birds, and also hope to have one as a pet one day. As for dogs vs cats I say both are pretty much the same to me.

i like both, but cats win. My family have always had a cat in the house. 8 once. A home is not a home without a cat. We've only ever had one dog.

Cats are either mean or afraid of me... and when my allergies aren't acting up and I'm able to be around them I get the feeling they're going to try scratching me if I pet them. Dogs are loyal animals who have been by our side for centuries, and are a lot more affectionate to their masters than cats. I still like cats don't get me wrong, but I'm more of a dog person.

I like dogs, but more into cats, I glow up with cats. Do also used to look after my half sister's dog since I was young, it was part of my life since then, until she pass away. But i see alot of cats in my life.

I adore cats! They are definitely my favorite of the two. But I do love dogs too. I had a black lab named Danny for 12 years before he passed away and he had a truly good soul. I really love and miss him. But cats, just on an impersonal level (since I've never had a cat of my own) are so irresistible. They have a natural sense of superiority, and the fact that they don't care of I pet them until they decide they want it makes me desire them even more. It's like forbidden fruit and I just gotta have it!

Cats win for me actually I'm afraid of dogs and I think I somehow have some resentment on them as I can't really see myself loving them at all.
