So first Josh Haber is a co-editor for season 8, and now the lady writers have left the show. The season hasn't even begun and it's already gotten two strikes. Where's the commitment? Now I can't go through a season without worrying about talented writers leaving MLP.

Well, good news for them, TERRIBLE news for us.

Maybe not terrible news for us! Unlike season 6, Josh has Nicole Dubuc helping him out! And she has proven herself to be a pretty good writer in other shows! Even though I did like season 6, I can understand why others don't, and I'm pretty sure Nicole is gonna be big help in making season 8 the best!

Also, Haber has more experience as a story editor, since he was the story editor for Skylanders Academy. 

Looking at her IMDB page, Dubuc has a lot of writing experience.

What a shame the lady writers left the show. Their work made this last season one of the strongest in the entire show. While Josh Haber is a good writer, he showed a bit of a weakness being exec producer, but hopefully he'll show his newfound experience this season. But having Nicole Dubuc alongside him will fill the whole where he lacks, so I'm not willing to throw the towel yet

The Lady Writers' contributions to season 7 have definitely been very good in multiple regards, and it is a real shame to see them go.

However, even though I had problems with season 6 due to Haber's "play it safe" tendencies plaguing the majority of it, his episodes in season 7 (especially Shadow Play) were so much better than his previous works that I'm suddenly much more confident about his return to season 8.

I do find it really odd Lewis and Songco left at the tail end of the season though instead of at least finishing it.
