Rules:

General rules:

No Godmodding: Do not take over another player character or assume another players actions/thoughts/feelings beyond what they've already provided in their own posts.

Stick to your character limitations: If your character has flaws and problems, make sure to use them in the story. It is a characters imperfections and flaws that make them interesting. Same goes for your powers. Adhere to your power limitations and restrictions.

Loose post order: Everyone needs to post once before you post again. Not everyone is able to respond as fast as others and they need time to write their posts out. Be mindful of others.

Combat rules:

In a combat scenario you can do the following in a post (any order you prefer)

- respond to an attack made against you (either by defending, dodging, or getting hit. Make sure to allow hits if they are earned and drives up tension)

-One major/primary action (this can be a use of your primary power or any number of combat maneuvers that could realistically take place within a few seconds)

- One bonus action (This is uses of your supplementary power or maneuvers that are supplementary to your primary action.)

- Movement (This can either be on foot, in a vehicle, with your ability, whatever you prefer. Keep it reasonable within the context of your power and in a few second timeframe.)

- free actions (dialogue, observational text, anything non combat oriented is a free action.)

Geodes have been making their way into the human world ever since the events of Camp Everfree. People who they are meant for find themselves granted with powers when they are in a certain area, and eventually they find the source of that power in the Geode. Most of the people that the Geodes choose are good and harmonious in nature, and seek to use their powers to help people. Now that the Geodes have reached Manehattan however, sometimes they fall into the wrong hands instead. That is where our heroes come in.

This is a superhero rp. Everyone gets their powers from Geodes, and they generally keep that a secret from the public. With the Geode, you get one primary power, and secondary powers based on the species of your equestrian counterpart. Your primary power should be clearly defined in what it can do and what restrictions and limitations it has. Be creative with these restrictions, as they can make a normally generic power more interesting. Your secondary powers, like previously stated, relates to what your oc's species is in Equestria.

You are not limited to ponies. Also, just because Spike was a dog in the EQG movies does not mean that all dragons have to be dogs. At least in this rp it doesn't. Try to stick to canon species of mlp though. This can be from the show, the movie, or the comics. No hate for Alicorn OC's, but they are rare for a reason, so lets avoid having them in here.

Banned powers:

Time manipulation: This does not balance well in a group rp setting.

Mind Control of other humans (specifically other Player Characters): Taking control of other player characters is generally taboo in role playing anyway. controlling animals or things is totally fine though.

While your primary power can be custom for you, your secondary/secies abilities should be more uniform. Pegasi, dragons, griffons, and changelings have winged flight when they activate their secondary powers for example. All magical races are preternaturally stronger than the average human, though they are weaker than someone with a primary power in super strength. Take this into account with your characters.

__________________________________________________________________________

Approved characters so far:

Lektra Bolt:

Primary Power: Lektra has the ability to absorb and utilize electricity. She can use this ability to levitate and manipulate conductive objects, metal being the easiest to do this with. Effectively an electric based telekinesis. She can also use this to do direct attacks with via electric blasts. If Lektra is doused/submerged in water, overexerts her powers,  or if she is too far away from her Geode, this charge will dissipate and will require a recharge before she can utilize this power again.

Secondary power: Lektra has the powers of a unicorn. She gains the preternatural strength and endurance of a pony. She also gains increased mental control over her abilities when her secondary form is activated. This is indicated by her pony ears and tail.

Silvermoon:

Primary Power: Silvermoon is host to a sentient shadow that operates as his power. This shadow is amorphous, though it can be seen with the head head of a wolf. It functionally operates as telekinesis, but with its own persona and emotions. This power works better in the dark/at night. It is stronger in this situation, but it is also harder to manage because of this. It is weaker during the day, but it is easier to manage because of this. This being can be intimidated into inaction. If the battle is going poorly, there is a chance that the shadow being will freeze and not be able to attack, leaving Silvermoon powerless until he can work its morale back up. The better their relationship is, the easier the power is to control, but arguments between the two of them can make the power less effective and more unruly.

Secondary power: Silvermoon has the powers of a unicorn. He gains the preternatural strength and endurance of a pony. He also gains increased mental control over his abilities when his secondary form is activated. This is indicated by his pony ears and tail.

Allure:

Primary Power: Allure has the power of greater shapeshifting. Unlike normal shapeshifting which limited to copying other people, she can assume the form of any number of things both inanimate and living. Due to her meek disposition, she normally does not use this in an offensive manner. However when the time comes that people need saving, she can adopt her Method Actor form. With Method Actor she takes on the appearance and personality of a fictional character from media she consumes, or one she made up. While in Method Actor state, her strength and durability are heightened, and her wings can still be used even if they are not seen. If something happens that breaks her immersion however, the power collapses and she temporarily loses the ability until she performs a long rest. Things that break immersion can include (but is not limited to) trying to perform feats that Allure cannot do, being told that she isn't that character in a convincing way, or things that happen in real life that would not happen in the characters story. Method Actor form can only be activated with her secondary form.

Secondary Power: Allure has the powers of a Changeling. She gains the preternatural strength and durability of a changeling. She also gains the shapeshifting of a changeling (which is coupled with her primary to make Method Actor Mode) when her secondary form is activated. This is indicated by her changeling ears, wings, and fangs.

Okay maybe I might be able to put my OC Techno into this! :)

Name: Techno Universal

Age: 16

Appearance: something like this but he would have his massive five meter long cape and his cape is navy blue with blue cercit board patterns all over it.

image.thumb.png.401982b8b3b92b6f3675d113754eba0f.png

Backstory: In the beginning he seemed like an ordinary human but when he turned 13 he started to release that there was something different and unique about him. He naturally became extremely intelligent then to and he was always into engineering and technology from the beginning.

Likes: adventure, computers, technology, engineering, massive capes.

Dislikes: getting irritated or annoyed by others, high amounts of workload pressure.

Fears: failing at his work

Primary Power: He can use administration console like commands to do a number of things like he can spawn in known objects, teleport, use laser attacks and a few other things but his limit is his brain processing capacity. So he can't spawn in any objects that are too complex or big, can't teleport too far or he can't really rapid teleport and his attacks can't be too OP but if he does try to go a little OP it would overload his brain and it could potentially do damage to his brain.

Secondary Powers: Now he is an alicorn in equestria so maybe his secondary power would be probably be unicorn based.

Name: Will Guide

Age: 18 (Graduated earlier than others from High School and University)

Appearance: 59fcf583b8f4c_WillGuide(EQGVisitor).png.f900b81a007ab0cc328e1cd3c3aa1d5e.png

Backstory: A recent graduate from Manehattan University, this writer-to-be wishes to follow in the footsteps of the Legendary Malt Whinney and write new stories that would bring people together.

Likes: Fairy Tales, Seeing people happy, writing stories,  encouraging others, imaginative people

Dislikes: Conquerors, selfish people, those who would restrict the imagination of the young and young-at-heart.

Fears: A world without hope and friendship, and where imagination is forbidden. Stage Fright.

Primary Power: Being a writer, I first thought of making his main power "writer"-based, such as the power of the pen could change things to a certain degree.

But if the idea is too OP, I could have it so that his encouraging personality grants him the power of lifting people's hopes and spirits making his friends abilities more powerful.

His main flaw is that he's not very battle-strong. So he wouldn't be the main fighter in an action scene. But his greatest strength is empowering others. So he'd be an excellent support.

Secondary Powers (based on what your equestrian counterparts race is) :
His counterpart is a Changeling, so thanks to his imagination, he could shapeshift into certain people and objects.

He also hopes the adventure he'll soon encounter will give him his first story. He'll of course make the adventure sound fictitious to hide his secret.

(Let me know if you need any changes)

This power needs a bit of clarification. How are you spawning in objects? What would be considered to complex or to big? What do you mean by administration console commands?

Here's my recommendation for the power: Have your character be a limited radius hard light hologram projector. You see your radius of influence as a grid that extends out on the floor for a couple blocks, and you spawn things by selecting coordinates on that grid. You can seemingly create simple objects out of thin air, but they are in fact solid holograms that can interact with the real world. Their complexity is limited to what is ostensibly your graphics processor. It is easier to create simple shapes and plug them into your radius of influence around you than it is to create something like a fully articulated and realistic copy of yourself. As you learn how to use this power, you can learn how to make more complex things while working within your processing limit. An example of this being like a low polygon video game character as a fighter for you. Overexertion of the power will cause glitches and perhaps a crash that will require a reboot, temporarily leaving you depowered.

Still a pretty strong power, and it has a wide variety of uses, and its limits are more defined. Plus it would be fun to see someone summoning Nintendo 64's Mario to attack villains or something like that.

As for the alicorn thing, I think Unicorn would work best for this type of character.

This one may lend itself into the Mind Control edge of things. For instance if you are writing in a non lethal death note style, where you dictate how events are going to happen before they do, that could be seen as a type of mind control, and that can get a bit messy. Thus why I want to avoid it.

Now Here's an idea for a power: The Narrator: If you are narrating what you are doing while you are doing it, out loud and clearly pronounced, you will be more successful at doing that thing. For example, if you narrate yourself sneaking past the guards in a low whisper and really put your geode into it, you will more than likely sneak past those guards. You are limited to what a magically amplified human is capable of, including your shape shifting. However if you CAN do a stunt conceivably, you can narrate yourself doing that thing. Not only is this a rather interesting power, it also has outstanding material for comedic effect. Just imagine a superhero narrating out loud how he is fighting a criminal and you'll see what I mean.

Name: Professor Lektra Bolt

Age: 16, finished college early

Appearance:received_10155246352759717.jpeg

Backstory: Fairly normal and boring upbringing. From a young age has been interested in tinkering with whatever was in the house, leading to her parents having to replace technology in the house fairly often when her experiments had disastrous effects. She went through school at an accelerated rate and finished college sooner than expected. While the Humanes are still in High School, she's in a position to be teaching them.

When not teaching at Manehattan University, she mostly uses her teacher's salary on her experiments. Lektra has patented the Leks Watch, a smartwatch she constantly upgrades and plans to eventually sell. The watch can project a holographic UI that functions as a computer to link up with her companion Sparky.

Likes: (These are in no particular order)
Engineering
Intellectual discussions, including geek/nerd stuff
Making friends
Spending time with friends
Working on her inventions
Filling commissions for clients
Sweets
Extremely Sweet Vanilla-flavored Coffee (Usual order is "A LOT of Cream, a LOT of Sugar, a LOT of Caramel, and a LOT of Mocha. I should just barely be able to taste the actual coffee, but it should still be 2/3 of the container.")
Females (Preferred for any romance)
Males (Though not a primary preference for any romance, she wouldn't mind Males)
Sleeping
Eating

Dislikes: (These are in no particular order)
Authority and deliberately silly behavior, except from those who have earned her respect or fondness
Being insulted
Going outside (Going outside to where the destination is an indoor place is fine)
Socializing with strangers in a public setting (She's shy)
Doing work or strenuous activity that isn't somehow connected to her job
Athletic endeavors
Grossness or really messy places
Those who insist they're smarter than her

Fears: Water, though showers are fine. Everyone needs to shower

Primary Power (Including limitations and defined boundaries of what it can do):

http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Static_Electricity_Manipulation

http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Electrical_Constructs

Secondary Powers (based on what your equestrian counterparts race is): Engineering, electrical and such. She has four inventions that are stable enough to use in everyday situations. Her Augmented Reality Goggles, the Leks Watch, her Electromagnetic Gloves, and Sparky who is usually attached to her back

Hmmm... that's a better idea. We can go with that. The most important thing about my characters in any RP is their good heart and undying hope in the face of dark times. The power you put out sounds like a good idea, and something new to do in an RP for me.

Yeah plus of course I would make it so Techno can't actually run a power for too long so like he could use a couple of magical shields to block attacks temporarily but he would have to disable his powers for a few seconds to cool down. As it would use too much brain processing power to keep attacks or powers running constantly for too long. Plus his aggression will make him more powerful like if he sees a friend get taken down or killed or he gets hit with a very hard attack. But still when he's extremely aggressive he can still get to a point where he falls unconscious from his mental system getting overloaded. Plus the holographic objects would probably be more like what you could call neon objects as they would be glowing neon blue plus the objects would also automatically delete themselves after a few seconds. So often he would be attacking his enemies by shooting neon objects at them or maybe even trying to crush them with larger objects. Plus he would be 100% vulnerable if his system crashes and yes when he gets near his processing limit it will start to cause his attacks to become very unstable and glitchy. Like his attacks might re-direct themselves towards him or another target he doesn't want to hit like a neon object he shoots might glitch and then shoot itself at another player in the RP. :)

Secondary Powers (based on what your equestrian counterparts race is): Manipulation of electronics (Technomancy), metal bending. Yes I play it as one power, if that's OK with you

received_10155246352759717.jpeg

Secondary powers are what your races abilities are. I/E enhanced strength and durability of a pony and more mental abilities with the horn.

For this rp I'd say go with either the Electric Holograms OR the Technomancy. I really want to emphasise ONE main power, with the pony racial traits being secondary.

Try to break up multiple ideas into different paragraphs if you can. It is quite difficult to read what you write when you have all those ideas meshed together.

As for those limits, I don't think you need to go that far. If you want to shield yourself, you can just save power by making it a still image of a block instead of something complex and highly detailed. The lower the polygons, the less energy it takes to keep it sustained.

I can also see attacks working within your radius of effect, like sending a graphical depiction of a laser at an opponent. With this power, your friend would be keeping what you do as low polygonal and efficient as possible. We can hash out what exactly those limits are later.

Exactly, and I could see someone with a good heart working through the stage fright of narrating something out loud in order to help others. When you tell someone that you are going to get them out of the burning building, you quite literally mean it. This would work even better if he had a bit of a fear of speaking in public or stage fright actually, as it would be a way of adding drama to the situation.

Okay I guess that's good then! Anyways I was also thinking that he would love his massive cape and he would be devastated if it was damaged. So he would be quite protective over his cape so he would move it using magic to make it avoid obstacles and attacks. Plus even if it was damaged Techno could fix it with his magic but it would take him a while to repair it. :)

That's the thing though. For unicorns race ability is magic, which varies unless you're Twilight Sparkle. Technology control is her magic in the pony world, so I'm not really sure how to run that here without killing off a core concept of the pony version. What would you have me do?

The pony version is still there of course, but in this RP the emphasis is on one primary power. The eqg characters do not have as varied abilities as their pony counterparts either, even Twilight, who's human version has only telekinesis.

Your options would be to either pick one of the two powers I mentioned for your primary, or you could make a new character that could fit more easily into this rp. I'm sure we can come up with something fun if you go that route.

Think I'll drop the Technomancy entirely then, unless you'd allow folding it into the primary, since it's electronic based.

What would you say to starting off with a pair of gloves (as a worn item/weapon since she builds things) with magnetic properties? Secondary would simply be this building ability, which is closer to her pony talent

In case anyone is wondering, I commissioned that art :)

Yes! He has stage fright and is introverted, which is exactly why he decided to be a writer instead of someone like a stage performer. Also, the reason he encourages friendship is because he wishes he could have friends like in the fairy tales he reads. He wants what he's afraid he can't earn due to his insecurity.

Plus, his counterpart being a Changeling makes sense when you realize he instinctly wants to hide what he precieves as his true self by pretending to be someone else. Wouldn't that work?

An introvert with a power that only works if you're being extroverted. I like the sound of that a lot. Character concept most definitely approved.

Although I do not have a EQG pic at the moment I will give you an Application,

Name: Silvermoon

Age: 18

Appearance: 6'2 in height, 135 lbs, slim athletic build. Navy blue skin, medium length blue hair with a silver stripe. His outfit usually consists of a silver hooded trench coat and when he feels like it he wears a silver phadora with a blue stripe circling it. He wears jeans and a blue t-shirt underneath with his cutiemark.

Backstory: Silvermoon just recently graduated highschool and had moved to Manehattan for a change of pace as he wanted to be a detective. Back in his younger years he was called a night owl for staying up late for no reason. He was having a late night walk through a park when he decided to stop on a bridge, as he leaned over the water a geode appeared and gave him his powers.

Likes: the night, walking, learning, reading, and the quiet, wolves

Dislikes: conflict, drama, and rude people

Fears: losing those he cares for, the moon disappearing, heights.

Primary power: summoning: he can summon anything and every thing at the cost of his geode's power and his strength, depending on what he summons, his geode is weaker in the day.

Secondary power: since his species is a unicorn, he gets basic levitation, and usage of certain spells, including a small usage of shadows, but geode and the EQG world limit it traumaticly.

He is a hero.

A bit too vague. Also we have similar powers already in the works. However

Levitation, shadow powers, telekinesis, and some spells? You could definitely bundle those together and make a Raven like character from Teen Titans (the good one.) Hell you can even have the same weakness of needing to keep your emotions in check to control the powers. Instead of a Raven motif it can be wolf like.

A bit too vague. Also we have similar powers already in the works. However

True, I could, but my character has a fondness of summoning, but if that is how I need to do it I will do it in that way.

If you go the Raven route you can have your power take on the form of your wolf. Or hell, you could even use a Cerberus for your motif if you wanted to. It would still be telekinesis mechanically speaking, but you could have it look like a shadowy wolf/dog head doing it.  We already have someone with a very similar power to summoning, so it would be a bit redundant if we had two characters doing ostensibly the exact same thing. However this will give you the shadow powers of Raven, like her shadow telekinesis, walking through shadows, manipulating your shadow power to create wolf heads, levitation, ect. Your character just needs to meditate and stay calm during the fight to control it. If your characters loses composure, the power can overload and crash, making you powerless until you can rest and meditate again.

If it's alright, I'd like to run two characters, one hero, one villain.

Name: Allure

Age: 21

Appearance: 5'6. slender build. Gray skin, green eyes, dull pink and lavender hair. Typically wears a hoodie, beanie and jeans.

Backstory: A shy girl who tries to avoid attention, but loves to perform and act. Wearign a costume or a mask gives her the confidence to be herself and not be judged by others. She is a huge anime and comic geek and loves to cosplay, doign her best to be like the characters she sees, or even like the ones she's made. She wants to be anything but herself.

Likes: Anime & manga. Comics. Theater. Drawing. Conventions. Halloween.

Dislikes: Getting called out. Public speaking. Bad acting. Getting lectured. Talented artists not being recognized. Valentines Day.

Fears: Being shamed for her interests. Her family never being proud of her.

Primary Power (Including limitations and defined boundaries of what it can do) : Shapeshifting. Can become anything twice or a quarter her height. Copy appearances and clothes. Change voice. Can become another person, an animal or an inanimate object.  If stationary or moving slowly, she can camouflage with her surroundings.

She can only become something as hard  or as soft as her body is naturally capable of. So she can flex like cartilage or be as hard as granite. But she can't stretch her body like rubber, or become a liquid or gas. She can take on the appearance of a machine like a motorcycle, but won't function or move like it.

Secondary Powers (based on what your equestrian counterparts race is) : Empathy, the ability to sense emotions in others, as well as gain strength from positive ones or loose focus around the negatives. If concentrated, she can project her emotions onto others.

Name: Calcine

Age: 18

Appearance: 5'7. Athletic build. Shoulder length messy black hair with a green streak.

Backstory: Daughter of a prominent family, Calcine wanted to follow her own path. But her parents insisted she be like her more successful siblings, and do nothing to embarrass the family name. Live within the rules and strict life style they set. she tried striking out on her own, but was met with a harsh world, with teachers that marked her down for correcting them, cops that grilled her every day, a less than glamorous job with a temperamental employer, her family continuing to call her and tell her to grow up, and recently, her apartment being broken into and vandalized.

Cops haven't found anyone in weeks. Insurer is blaming her for living in such a rough area, so they aren't covering. Her roommates left her the bill without a word. And worse, her adopted cat was found hurt, and the human society took him away due to the area no longer being safe.

Likes: Cats and dogs. Kids. Punk, hardcore, industrial and goth music. Skate boarding. Coffee. Baseball.

Dislikes: Politics. Cops. Bureaucracy. Teachers. School. Parents. In-action. Being ignored. Being told she's wrong.

Fears: Loosing control. Having all that she worked for be taken away. Loosing her pride.

Primary Power (Including limitations and defined boundaries of what it can do) : Pyromancy. Ability to control and generate fire. Heat her body hot enough to melt stone. Can concentrate her power into a super heated blow torch.

However she cannot get hot enough to melt large portions of metal. She can burn herself out and will require a few minutes rest at last.  Will react adversely to cold. Water won't put her out immediately, but it will slow her down.

Secondary Powers (based on what your equestrian counterparts race is) : Super strength. Super durability. Hardened skin.

If that weakness doesn't mesh with your character we can definitely do another instead.

We could make it like Tokoyami from My Hero Academia, where the effectiveness of your power is tied to how much sunlight there is as well as granting your shadow powers it's own persona. At night your powers are stronger, but it is a bit harder to control. During the day it is weaker, but easier to manage. Your power can also be subject to becoming afraid and intimidated depending on the situation, which can stall your powers. Basically Raven powers but it is a companion with a mind of its own and subject to environmental effects like sunlight. Sound good?

Question for both characters: What IS their equestrian counterpart?

Also, like I said with villain characters I need to make sure you can run one properly. We can hash out those details via pm if you are truly interested in that.

Allure's primary is totally fine. Empath is a bit stickier though. I would need to impose rules like requiring you to ask via ooc what the other characters are feeling before you can be approved to post that you are using that power. The reason for this being is if you make up what the other person is feeling, that is a form of God Modding, which is a big no no in rping situations. It may be more trouble than its worth in terms of extra footwork.

Allure is a changeling and Calcine is a dragon. And I'm fine with hashing out details.
