Episodes that would've been better off earlier in the show

Now there are episodes that catch a lot of flak. Episodes where characters are OOC or a lesson is just repeated. But what if those episodes were aired earlier in the shows history? Would episodes like cart before the ponies and spike at your service have been better recieved had they been part of Seasons 1-3? What episodes could've been seen in a nicer light had they been made earlier in pony history?

I definitely have to go with episodes like AJ's Day Off, 28 Pranks Later, Honest Apple, and Secrets and Pies! They really seem like episodes that should've taken place in the earlier seasons!

Couldn't have said it better. If there were to be any episodes where Rainbow isn't helpful to Fluttershy, it should have happened before Hurricane Fluttershy where Dash actually stops herself from being too hard on the scared pony after character development has settled in for Dashie.

Cart Before The Ponies, 28 Pranks Later, P.P.O.V, Honest Apple and Secret & Pies, that all i can think of, for now. I welcome old-fashioned episodes as long as they are funny and still connect to recent development of characters, or at least make a bit sense. To be honest, a lot of modern FIM episodes, while they have many good moral lessons to teach kids and adults, they are a bit boring sometimes, some old-fashioneds bring back some zaniness that make me laugh out loud, Secret & Pies is the best old-fashioned episode out of these episode i mentioned and a truly great one.

Fame and Misfortune

Honestly, I enjoyed the episode, but I can't help but feel that it would've been better placed earlier in the series considering the development of the Mane 6 at this point.

For the most part, I only think an episide would fit earlier if I already enjoy it. "Cart Before the Ponies" would be a drag regardless of where it was placed, but I think both "28 Pranks Later" and "Secrets and Pies" would make more sense earlier, even if they'd still have many of the same problems. I think both would feel even more awkward in season 1 or 2, though, mainly because of their issues: "28 Pranks Later" is much too slow, whereas "Secrets and Pies" is far too juvenile even for season 1. I think both are very stylistically reminiscent of their own season, however. 

You mention "Spike at Your Service," but I always felt that completely fabricated character traits. Spike and Twilight act in ways they have never behaved previously. I like that episode, but it probably would make just as little sense anywhere else.

Nothing could save 28 Pranks Later, especially considering Griffon the Brush Off is only the 5th episode in the show

Secrets and Pies is the only episode suggested I think I'd agree with so far would probably be one that'd be better in S1/2, though I'd think F&M would work better in S5 or S6 at the earliest

Yeah, when they made nods to past lessons, none were from Season 5 or 6. And Starlight's presence being ignored as if she doesn't exist makes sense when you believe Season 5 hasn't happened yet.

Besides, the journal so obviously hasn't been touched since the end of Season 4 when it was last used!

It probably would have worked better if it was before Season 5.
