What happens if the sirens go through the portal?

Recommended Posts

What do you think would happen if the sirens discovered the portal to Equestria and used it? We’ve seen what they look like in non human form, and they’re definitely not ponies, yet they turned in to exactly the same things that Twi and Sunset did when they used the portal. Yet Spike, also a non pony creature (and may I please point out the fact that the sirens actually look a lot like dragons!) turned in to a dog.

So how does the portal work, and could the sirens just go back through it? If they did, would they turn back in to the dragony things minus dark powers, or would their lack of magic make them turn in to normal ponies or something?

(edited)

The portal does not seem to be consistent, In the movie + comics mixed not every single pony that went through became human (Mane-iac).

If the Dazzlings had use the portal, they would have just returned to their normal forms in equestria. As for their magic that was contained it was lost when the amulets were destroyed (Just as starswirl predicted), they would no-longer have the ability to feed on negativity and distrust.

They would not be ponies. We know that they are sirens already, but they have just lost their powers. I would imagine that they would become just normal Hippocampus' creatures. Like mean seaponies. They would not have the gems embedded in their chests either as they were destroyed.

I suspect that they would become their hippogriff forms though without their magic as their pendants were destroyed. In any case, they wouldn't be a threat unless they were to resort to petty acts just to make ends meet.

No it's the sirens that are massive, not the hippocampus, get your mythology right.

the sirens in MLP are a form of hippocampus. Not sea ponies or Mer-mares as mentioned in the comics. I see them as a totally differnt species because Sirens in mythology were more like grotesque seamonster mermaids.

Im doing my own "study of sea based ponies" art series and ive been working on creating/pointing out the differences in these creatures. So i am no stranger to details please stop saying Im wrong as this is MY translation of it all.

I think since their amulets are destroyed they came out of the portal as Ponies or Hippogriffs.

I think some people will disagree with you, due to the fact that the sirens are very different from the hippocampus.

It really depends on if their size is connected to their power.

If so, they would probably be between the size of a pony and their shown Equestrian forms, just as a small theory of my own.

If not, they would go through the portal and be their shown Equestrian forms, but without their gems and most likely without magic (the latter of which may or may not limit their ability to float/fly/levitate).

As of whether or not they are different than hippocampuses or not, they are (or, at least, according to the My Little Pony Movie).

Firstly, I would just like to brief that I like to believe that seaponies are different than hippocampuses, the former being ‘mermaid’ forms of land ponies and the latter being Princess Skystar’s (underwater) species.

If you compare the sirens to the canonical hippocampuses, they have quite a few different features, including build and size.

Therefore, based on this logic, they would not turn into hippogriffs - there’s no reason for them to do so. Even if they are or once were related to the hippocampuses, they are not connected in that sense.

As for the theory that in Equestria they would be ponies, this doesn’t make sense either. There isn’t any canonical proof (unless there is in more recent seasons of the show, of which I have not been able to watch) that they have pony forms, or even that their magic connects to their appearance at all (which I am aware disproves my suggested theory that they could be smaller).

Most of that was most likely not helpful, so;

tl;dr - They would just be their shown Equestrian forms, but without their gems and potentially without their magic.

((In that sense, I agree with MidnightRush.))
