Portal 2 Maps Seem to be Working in Garry's Mod?

Well this is....interesting.

Normally, the Portal 2 map icons are "This Map is Incompatible with Garry's Mod!", but when I booted the game today, they were just the no picture icon (the gray diagonal stripes).  So I decided to TRY load one up to see if it was just something weird with the icons.

NOPE!

The map actually loaded!  And others did too!
Portal 2 maps were loading up in Garry's Mod!

How?  I don't know.  But I did make a video of this phenomenon of Source 2011 Maps working in Gmod.

 

Anyone else able to do this?
