35th Anniversary Collector Ponies

I was completely unaware of a 35th Anniversary of My Little Pony.   And funny thing is, besides 2 G1 Ponies that I bought at Comic Fest in 2012, I also possess two SDCC 2017 G1 My Little Pony toys as well.  Imagine that.

Sure wish they'd done a different set. They did this set and the first Rainbow Set for the 25th Anniversary. And I personally have never been fond of the Collector Ponies.

They could have gone with other popular sets. Like So-Softs, Twinkle Eyes, Big Brothers, or Unicorns.

Ah well, my daughter would like Bluebelle so if it pops up anywhere other then Target I'll snag her one.

For your history lesson, these ponies were called 'collector ponies' even back in 1986.

This is a scan of one of my pony-paper documents. The letter was dated 1986,

hasbro was already calling these ponies collector ponies even back then. Though obviously

in 86 you could no longer find these ponies in most stores, you might have gotten lucky

and found some old stock once in a while but at that point they were no longer available

to buy in store. Hasbro gave us the option of getting them by mail order, etc.
