Why does Pinkie Pie look like a ballerina?

Because she is random. That's Pinkie Pie for you :D

Perhaps because the show artists thought that it makes her look more cuter and girly. I suggest that she needs a less pale dress that is longer, to make her look more beautiful.

I still like her old outfit better. In fact, I would've liked it more if they gave her a hair bow in the first place, unlike how they gave her a headband in the new series.

I have a bigger question. What’s about all their huge @$$ boots?

I dunno, they got rid of those a while ago.

I think the character designers of the first Equestria Girls film came up with that idea.

As far as I'm aware, there was a dictate from on-high (Hasbro), that had to do with the toy manufacturing process. Something around all the characters had to have very similar hard-plastic 'profiles', so they all had to have very similar shoes and the like. Actual fabric for the clothes and hair and whatnot could be more individual, but anything molded out of plastic couldn't be too different or the cost of the toy manufacturing would be beyond what the executives were willing to pay for at the time.

And the boots in general looked the most like pony legs, so they all got basically the same giant clunky boots with any real differences being painted on.

Gee... The more I dig into the dark history of early days of EQG....

I really enjoyed their dedication to those boots, at least until they got rid of them for good.
