What was the moment that made you love your favorite character?

When Rainbow Dash made her first appearance back in season one episode one, I pretty much just fell in love with her, and then over the seasons with her personality growth and finally achieving her dream of becoming a Wonderbolt sealed the deal for me that Rainbow Dash is best pony!

It may sound really wierd but for a while I was a Pinkie Pie's fan, and one of those days I just friend zoned her. Rainbow Dash was a step on the next level

Pinkie Pie in a friend in deed, yes she was annoying Cranky a lot and wasn't giving him privacy, but in that episode, I realized how much she loves to make everypony smile

The very first scene with Fluttershy.

Almost the same for me too. It was the pony tone episode from season 4 which made me love Fluttershy and then to start to watch the whole show.

I really liked Fluttershy from the start, but the moment that really made her my favorite was when she went up against the Dragon in "Dragonshy". That episode was great because it showed her cute and cowardly side while also showing her step up for her friends in the end. To me, it showed that she was a flawed, but inspiring character who wanted to be the best friend she could be. That was really the big moment that officially made Fluttershy my favorite character.

I'd say the first episodes. I liked the appearance of Twilight before I started watching the show (it's actually one of the reasons I started watching), but basically, while watching the first epiodes I though to myself "well, she is kind-of like me in some ways, I think we would get along just fine".

I think it was a gradual process with Pinkie. Griffon the Brush Off was the start for being the first episode to show off Pinkie's personality past being comic relief, many episodes throughout the first two seasons (The Last Roundup, Hearth's Warming Eve, It's About Time) showed how good she is at being comic relief, The Cutie Mark Chronicles and Party of One continued to show new and interesting layers to her character, Baby Cakes showed she can still be funny in a more down to earth situation and can carry an episode almost entirely on her own (the problems with Baby Cakes come more from the story writing than the character writing), and A Friend in Deed is where it all came together.

I liked almost all characters from the first moment on. Same with Starlight Glimmer. My feelings for her developed slowly over time. When she returned at the end of season 5, I was so happy! And then she even became a part of the main characters in season 6! This is the moment for me where FiM really started to shine for me and a lot more depth was added to the show. With every moment Starlight was on screen, I liked her even more and more! To me, she is the most realistic and relatable character from...basically all media I know, not only FiM.
Starlight is also just such a balanced character. She is not purely evil, not purely good. She isn't as extreme as many other characters or who stick to one or few traits. She is honest, she lies, she can be annoyed or be super passionate, she can become angry or furious, but also show the most beautiful smiles, she is caring and kind, but can also be the worst enemy, she likes to impress sometimes, but the same way she can be happy for others. And I love all of that about her. She never annoyed me or anything. She never did anything I would hate her for. To me, she just makes sense. I think there was only one moment where I wouldn't side with her, and this was when she gave away Trixie's wagon. Was it worth it though? Yes! It led to more unique and fun moments. :squee:
With Starlight it simply never becomes boring. I'm a similar type of person, I can't just stick to one thing for the rest of my life. Okay, okay, besides FiM! I also like animals and nature like Fluttershy, tea parties and picnics as well. But it would depress me to do this almost every day. For this reason, I can't entirely relate to the main characters, but only to some aspects of them. I see myself more as a creative and adventurous person, I need variety, every day. And Starlight is one of the few characters who would enjoy to do about anything. :kindness:
I tend to like side characters more than the main characters. A very good example is Minuette. She is not as extreme as Pinkie Pie, who would throw a party at every moment of her life, if possible. :ButtercupLaugh: Minuette is a very happy and positive pony by nature and you can talk to her normally, she will be very quiet and listen to you. She doesn't sit on heated coals. It is unknown what her cutie mark means, but she most certainly isn't a character who only stares at hourglasses the whole time. I like other characters more than the Mane 6 for example, because I can connect to them on various levels and not only one or a few. And this is the most important factor for me. And Starlight (as main character even!) has it all. She's absolutely perfect. E-Starlight_7.png

"Lesson Zero" made me love Twilight Sparkle and made her my favorite character in Friendship is Magic.

Not because of the going crazy stuff but rather the reason why she was going crazy in the first place...A fear of failure and letting someone down.
