Someone came up with a theory on deviant recently, which had the idea that the series would end with it revealing that they were stories told by the now adult sized Spike(say a Mark Hamil voice)

He now writes a series of novels chronicling the tales of the Mane 6 from their encounter with Nighmare Moon, defeating the Storm King and more. He finishes his story to a buch of creatures children, closes the book and that the end.
