My Amazing Yamaguchi Gwen just arrived!

image.thumb.jpeg.2de8d356c49d53ebbe14027117f57de5.jpeg

And she's too good for words. I don't know why some people like to trash Revoltech's stuff, because this is worth every cent. I've never had a figure with so much articulation before. She's got full rotation on everything.

Now granted...

... her unmasked head does look like shit...

... but everything else about her is flawless. Full flexibility, three masked heads with comically cute expressions, a wide assortment of alternate hands and three web lines. She's got it all.

Time to start selling my old Legends Gwen.

I have a number of Transformers figures from the 1980s though they are currently either in the shed or in the attic. Whether they are still in good condition is something I don't know but I believe they still have some value attached to them.

Just got a Motoko Kusanagi from Figma. I was worried this one would be fragile given how short she is (about 5 1/2"), but I'm pleasantly surprised her joints are at least as sturdy as the ones on some of my Play Arts figures. And this is a reissue, so I'm glad I didn't have to pay $200+ to get her. That would have sucked!

While I don't own any action figures, I do have a collection of vinyl pop figures of various anime characters. I plan on purchasing more!

At long last, I have a Doctor Doom!

Albeit one from ToyBiz. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for a Hasbro Doom, but I don't regret picking this up at the comic shop today. I wasn't expecting to see it in person, and when I did, I realized I've been missing out on such a good figure all this time. This is probably the best version of Doom they made circa 2002, and for a figure that old, $25 is a steal. I love how the articulated fingers make it easy to put that pistol in either hand. The Fantastic Four issue it comes with is a classic Doom story, and overall....

He's intimidating as fuck!

And today I got an Avengers 1 Iron Man. Unlike the more "updated" version from the Infinity War three-pack, this Mark VII can actually move its upper torso. There's no waist swivel, and there's barely an ab crunch, but I'll take any articulation over a completely stiff figure in favor of a light-up arc reactor. There's no reason they couldn't combine them both. Plus, the Mark L from Infinity War is absolute shit. It might as well be a magic suit.

And now for some Monster Hunter. Revoltech does a bang up job with their females.

I have no experience with this franchise at all. But since this kirin swordsman happens to be an alternate costume for one of my mains in Street Fighter V, I just had to get her.

They just keep on coming. Lol.

Next up is my new Blueline Wonder Woman.

After buying the Superman from this line as a gift, I just couldn't resist. Jim Lee is simply one of the greatest comic artists around. His work on X-Men and Justice League speaks for itself. His style lends itself well to any character. Especially females. And this is easily my favorite Wonder Woman figure. The body has clearly been reused from the New 52 WW that came before this, yet the head sculpt is totally authentic. Even if it doesn't have the articulation to match the recent 90's X-Men figures from Marvel Legends, this feels so much more like a Jim Lee creation. And I love the fact it comes with not just a portrait sketch, but also a blank sketch card. If I were to meet Jim Lee in person at a convention, I'd hand it to him and ask for a portrait of anybody I want.

The only thing that could top this is an updated version, painted in full color, but done in marker effects. How badass would that be?

And there goes my money again. I got another one yesterday!

I haven't played the new Spider-Man game on the PS4. Hell, I play on a PC, so I can't. From what I've seen, I really like that new suit they gave him. Maybe not as much as the Iron Spider suit from Infinity War, but it's so refreshingly unorthodox, I just had to get the Gamerverse figure.

Not bad for $22. Those weblines are utterly useless though. Why include them if you can't peg them into his hands?

I'm happy to say I finally have a Michael Myers action figure in my collection. And not just any Michael Myers.

Old Man Myers from Halloween '18.

Spoiler

I think the money was definitely worth it, but I'm not gonna say it's not the best Michael Myers action figure. As I do have a couple gripes with it.

My Amazing Yamaguchi Psylocke finally came!

700236846_48404222_501581276999179_4431219167756025856_n1.thumb.jpg.4ff8654a7aa9e98a57ae379199d21bb8.jpg

I swear, Revoltech's females are unmatched. This has all the articulation I've come to expect from Spider-Gwen and the Monster Hunter, but I'm even more impressed by the sheer number of accessories. Psy's got all the necessary options you'd want for both hands: that's two katanas, two psychic-charged katanas, a sheathed katana to go with an extension for her sash... she's got it all. I wish the psychic-knives were better though. I prefer the volume of Legends Psylocke's knives over the two flat ones. Still, this is as close to perfect as any Marvel heroine can get.

It's been a hell of a year to be a collector. All I need now is my KOF '94 Rugal and my six arcade AvP figures. After that, my buying impulses can finally go away for a while.
