Does anyone else find the front view of ponies ugly?

The early seasons when they didn’t had a more stable base, they struggled depicting pony frontal views. And when they moved, it was worse.

But sometimes it was more cute than the side view (not this one but), so it isn’t ugly.

Anyway, I think the ponies look fine from the front, but there is one pose/face they make that I can't stand:

I hate it when they sing like this.  It's fine when you can see their eyes, but I can't fickin' stand it when they do this.

Ha!  That's so funny.  I wrote my post and chose the picture before I saw yours, and then I randomly decided to scroll up (as I often do) before posting, and saw yours.  Pretty funny that we're exactly opposite.  Well, to each their own.

Whie some front view shots can be unappealing, I find that many are quite the opposite.

For some reason I think large confused crowd shots are really funny/amusing looking.

I think they look good regardless.... Except with those mouth creases when they smile. That's always look really weird, creepy and out of place. Mostly because they don't have human flat faces, they have snouts... so the creases don't make sense.

It's like Joker-like smiles. I don't like them

Meaning, they did what they could with the limited designs they had. I like that challenged part of the show, seeing what they could come up with. But sadly Season 9 took it too far using the wrong designs from "the Movie"

yeah front view ponies are usually always ugly but the royal sisters, discord, the changalings, and all the other races minus dragons don't look horeneous from the front.

Yeah, from view ponies look weird. IMO it is because the art style is such that front view "flattens" the muzzle of the pony making the face look like a human face but with weird proportions.
