Rose stood up and turned to face Mason, then she said to Topaz, "Once the fight starts please stay out of the ring." She didn't want to put anything out there with the outcome being unclear. If this goes well for her, she might be able to make a friend and a connection of her own, that her father won't be able to use. She looked up to see that the sky was still cloud, barely letting any sunlight through

Mason had already proven that he was well equipt to handle multiple targets at once, so he didn't seem nervous about the second copy circling to his right flank. A second, shadowy head with long, gnarled fangs extended from his neck and looked at the original Rose with piercing red eyes. Topaz started backing toward the edge of the ring.

"It seems we aren't the only ones who have information. I thought we had some sort of advantage by knowing what our opponents were capable of. It appears that whole advantage went out the window as it looks like they have information on us. It's probably the reason why Copper was having some trouble in defeating Onyx. It wasn't just because Onyx was strong, but he probably knew his opponent inside and out. Which means we'll have to be extra cautious when going into our fights.

Jade was about to make a comment about Draco's sarcasm, but something Dynamo suggested had caught her attention. The way Mason knew just what buttons to push to get to her and her teammates...

It seems we are not the only ones who did their homework.

She caught eye contact with Rokata across the arena, and a frightening thought crossed her mind; did that mean that he knew everything about her?

Rose watched as her shadow caught the knife, then she calmed herself done before sprinting at Mason. Chances are Tenebris will aim at her since her copy is staying in the back and won't be much of a threat. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw that Topaz was backing off to the edge. Her metal limb will be good against Mason, since it's more durable than her other limb. She lowered her body to be able to jump or roll out of the way.

"I can tell you're trying something, Rose," Mason said, his eyes always followed her true body and not the clone. His hind right left shifted and the concrete beneath him cracked subtly. "You'd better hope it doesn't miss."

Rose grabbed her knife that she keeps in her wing and attached a bit of her shadow to the end of it to act as a string, then she tossed it at Mason, while getting ready to yank it, so that she won't be completely defenseless. She had to be on guard, he know's that something's up, but hopefully he doesn't figure it out until she has a hold on them. She started slipping some shadow over her hoof to try and make a grab for Tenebris once she is close. She doesn't know if it will work, but it's worth a try.

Mason rasised his eyebrow at the knife when he saw Rose poise it in her wing. It wasn't clear if he knew what it was, but he turned his focus to the blade instead of Rose for once. "That weapon looks awfully sharp," he said, "Try not to slip."

Rose threw her knife at Mason, but he was ready to defend himself from it. His shadowy tendrils shot out to catch the knife, but the knife phazed straight through it. His eyes widened when he realized his defenses wouldn't work on the weapon, and he attempted to dodge. The knife sliced into his back and left a nasty gash, but it hit him at an angle since he was quick enough to dodge, and the damage was only surface level. He rolled forward, leaving a trail of blood droplets beneath him, and landed in front of the real Rose.

"So you've got a weapon we can't touch?" He asked, "A well kept secret..."

Mason was off balance, and it looked like Rose had a chance to get him when she reached out with her shadowy hoof. He jumped back, but she managed to grab onto his neck. That was perhaps not wise.

"She's got him!" Rose heard Shining Armor shout, but Mason was smiling at her with the same wild eyed expression he had before.

"Here's my secret," He said.

@Unicorncob @Dynamo Pad @DwhitetheGamer @dragon4111

Tendrils shot straight out of the ground beneath Rose's clone, bursting through the concrete and destroying the shadow entity from beneath before it had time to react. At the same time, three tendrils shot up from the ground beneath Rose and pierced her lower chest and both shoulders. It all happened as fast as the blink of an eye, like they came out of a spring loaded trap, a trap that Mason had been laying since the beginning of the match. The time the ground beneath his hind left hoof cracked, and the swirling shadows around that leg were all subtle warnings of his plan.

The tenebris demon had broken through the ground, extended out of Mason's body, and traveled through that crack in the ground, using Mason's eyes to locate where Rose was, and sprung an attack when Rose got close enough to him.

It looked at first like it was all over, but Mason missed every vital organ in Rose's body, only piercing the flesh of her shoulders, and not cutting deep enough to puncture her stomach with the third tendril. The snaking tentacles dug deeper inside of her, and hooked into the flesh to hold her in place. He pushed her away from him, but kept the tendrils stuck in her body.

"Such a simple minded fool. It makes it so satisfying to trick you," He said. He casually strode to the knife that Rose's clone was holding, which was now laying on the ground where the clone used to be. He picked it up and inspeceted the blade, trying to figure out what it was, while his tentacles held Rose in place.

Rose gritted her teeth and grabbed the tendril to pull it out, if she couldn't get free, then it would be over. She flicked her shadow that was connected to the knife she threw and sent it flying towards her. She was glad that it worked, but needed to be more careful on where she grabs Mason.she let the knife hang, while putting shadow on her metal claw to pull the one that's next to her stomach, As she was getting them out, she decided to try and move Tenebris for the hell of it.

@Canteen_the_unstable @Unicorncob @dragon4111

As the fight between Rose and Mason was underway, both fighters had brought out their shadows right from the start. "It looks like the both of them aren't holding back. If bringing out their shadows to fight is any indication." While he had a slight understanding of how Rose had fought, he still didn't have a clear understanding of Mason's shadow. He remembered the shadow had blocked his attack as he went to save Rose that one time, but it was as if the shadow encased Mason in a shadow styled dome. Without warning, he watched as his teammate had thrown the knife to where she extended the shadow along the ring. "So, it seems like she's going to try and outsmart Mason. With the shadow being an extension of herself, then that's making great use of both the weapon and the effectiveness of the strategy in mind." As she regained the knife in hoof, Dynamo thought he saw a crack beginning to form as Mason threw a hind leg at the ring. 'Huh? What in Equestria is Mason trying to do?' He thought as the weapon had phased through Mason's shadowy tendrils. The blue unicorn nodded as it looked like Rose was able to land a direct hit.

As she was able to make her way over to Mason, Dynamo nodded in agreement to Shining Armor's exclamation. He knew that this was a huge advantage as Mason was possibly still recovering from the earlier attack. What he didn't take into account was seeing Mason's menacing expression in his eyes. It was then that tendrils had appeared from underground and landed some major damage to his friend. "Rose!" Dynamo gasped as he then saw the tendrils had broken through the ground. "What in the world? How did that guy even do such a thing?" It was then that he recalled the earlier event from the ground cracking from his hind leg. "Wait a minute. There's no way. Just from back then? So, he can effectively run his shadowy tendrils into the ground and then make a surprise attack." He shook his head as he couldn't get a read on Mason. "How do you even fight someone that fights like that, while not being able to see and/or possibly sense where the attacks are going to show up?" He asks, seeing that the tendrils kept Rose in place. It didn't help that she lost her knife as Mason had begun to inspect the weapon.

Jade blinked, watching the shadowy creatur slither through the cracks in the arena floor. "It can move from its host?"

She looked at Rose, who was ensnared. "If he can do that, and Rose's power is similar, then perhaps...?"

As he listened to his captain speak, Dynamo shivered slightly as he felt disturbed from Mason's abilities. "It appears so. I thought I saw something forming in the ground being cracked. Although, I wasn't able to get a proper look." He blinked, looking over towards his team leader with a confused, yet curious look. "What are you trying to say, Jade? If both of their powers are similar, then maybe Rose can use that ability against him?" He wasn't sure if that was the question Jade was going for, but he felt that it didn't hurt to ask.

"This doesn't look good for Rose!" Topaz called. "Mason has ensnared her, no, gorged her with his creepy tentatcles and it doesn't look like he's going to let go! That's got to hurt!"

Mason pushed Rose away with his tentacles. The ground between them broke open to reveal the tenebris demon beneath, holding Rose in place. It swirled around Mason, reattaching to him while keeping those three tendrils hooked in Rose's flesh. The tendrils dug deeper into her when she tried to move, expanding and creeping through her muscles, destroying the soft tissue but never going deep enough to cause any fatal wounds.

"e-heheheheh... AH-HA HA HA!" Mason laughed, giving credance to one of his old nicknames. The tendrils flexed and tensed, shooting more of their creeping hooks into Rose's flesh. "You've given it your best, but your powers are still abysmal next to mine. I could kill you right now but what would be the fun in that?"

Mason held out his left front hoof and a shadowy orb swirled around it. The black object started to split into all colors of the rainbow before being morphed in his hoof like moddeling clay into the forms of all the members of Team Lotus, including Jade and Snow Frostflame, all forming tiny figures that fit on his hoof in an evenly row. "I've been watching all of you. It's quite a touching story you've created. I hope to tell it to all my friends in the future. Perhaps I should recall it to you to make sure I've gotten all the details right."

Rose felt the tendrils split within her, expanding out in all directions within her muscle tissue.

"Your friend Mason is something of a fool," Rail commented to Rokata.

"Yes, it's a nasty habbit of his," Rokata replied.

Rose scream out in pain and fell to knees in pain. She closed her eyes and tried an idea, before she would have to put her life at risk. She pushed the knife next to Mason and made her shadow snake it's way to the knife, making it pick up the knife and attempt to stab it either in the neck or the heart. She kept trying to slow  the expansion of the tentacle that were in her body to give her more time, and possibly forcing them out with her magic.

Mason stepped on the knife when she reached for it and punished Rose by digging his tendrils deeper into her. "No interrupting! Its very rude." He scolded. Mason gripped her knife and said, "I'd give you this weapon back but helplessness is more fun!"

The tendrils lifted Rose into the air a few feet before dropping her on her back. Topaz ran to the ringside with her mic at the ready, but Mason stopped her.

"You can keep that ten count to yourself, filly. I have plans for this one that dont involve her seeing the end of this fight!" Mason ordered. He looked down at Rose, who he now assumed to be totally helpless, and said, "but you already know plenty about death dont you? Which brings us back to our story."

He looked at the lifeless colored shadow puppets in his hoof and said. "Seven little ponies who were all different from one another in their own special way decided to join a tournament to prove they were the best. They were all nervous but decided they could do anything if they worked together. Seven little ponies and now there's five. Soon there will be four, but I'm getting ahead of myself."

The puppet of Frostflame hunched over and started to pour dark red light from his chest, mimicking blood. "One of the little ponies was named Frostflame. He kept many secrets and no one else liked him. So his friends allowed him to die, and then they all felt a bit happier."

All the puppets except for Tricis' disappeared from his hoof. "Then there was a mare who followed everyone around even though no one wanted her to be around her. She was named Tricis and she used to be beautiful and strong."

"Mason..." Rokata said with a harsh tone.

Mason kept his eyes on Rose. "Oh dont mind him. He's just embarrassed because he's in this next part of the story."

The Tricis puppet aged rapidly, becoming even older than she was in death. Her hair thinned and her complexion greyed. "Tricis had a friend named Rokata who found a way to get even stronger and never age. Tricis kept aging until she became shriveled and weak. She was very jealous of Rokata, and so she tried to kill him, but she wasnt strong enough."

Rose gave up on trying to pull them out, looked at Mason with a bored expression and said sarcastically, "Does this random story have a point to it. I'm all for a good story, but this one is boring me to death." Even though it was pointless, she try and make small crude portals at each tentacle. She hated herself that she never finished the training for it. She didn't really feel sad that Frostflame died, but with how Mason was putting on a puppet show in the middle of the fight was irritating her.

He thought, watching as Mason was just toying around with Rose. The Tenebris soon started to form a shadowy orb in his hoof, before the orb split into rainbow colors. It looked as if Mason had modeled clay in his hoof, while the clay morphed into the members of Team Lotus. "What is this guy up to? Trying to make his own diorama project for a class assignment?" He didn't understand, but he had a feeling it wasn't going to be a fun explanation.

The blue unicorn wondered why Jade hadn't answered his question from earlier. As he turned to look at her, he noticed that her wings were ruffling. He didn't know it at first, but he was beginning to understand that Jade was starting to become worried for Rose's well being. It wasn't just because they were all teammates, but Jade had almost the same exact look as when he fought the Chemist and Patchwork. The look that said Jade would stop at nothing to jump into the ring and take Mason down. However, they couldn't step into the ring to help, unless it meant disqualification. Seeing Rose in her condition had bothered him too, but what could he even do at this point. He had to sit tight and just hope that Rose could make an escape. He did, however, nod at Jade's comment. "I agree that Mason has the ego, but he seems either overconfident, or just plain crazy. Whatever the case, Rose needs to get away from that guy and get her weapon back. Otherwise, she'll be at a huge disadvantage."

Once Mason took the knife, Dynamo watched as the ten count was denied. The Tenebris soon discussed his story, while going over the events that Team Lotus had gone through in the tournament. When they got to Frostflame, Dynamo gasped as he watched Mason destroy the clay puppet. The blue unicorn felt visibly sick to his stomach as he was once again reminded for what had happened. 'I know I wasn't able to get along with Frostflame and we weren't exactly friends, but we were a team. I would never allow myself to get rid of a teammate when we all made it this far together.' He shook his head as he tried to stay calm, while not allowing the Tenebris to get inside Dynamo's mind as he twisted his words of the story. As all the puppets disappeared except for Tricis, Dynamo watched as Mason began to talk about their coach. He kept listening, but he didn't get what Mason was trying to get at. "Just get to the point already. What are you trying to do? Write an autobiography of our whole team to release as a story to the public?"

"You talk too much."

Those were some loud words directed at Mason, and it could only come from one pony.  Copper Strikes was standing fully upright, which didn't seem to make a lot of sense for anyone.  How was he able to stand after the absolute beating he took from Onyx?

For those who had kept a keen eye on Copper, they would've seen that he had a green aura enveloping him.  Due to him being an Earth Pony, he was able to naturally heal himself with just a tiny fraction of the earth below him.

Draco growled as he ignored the pony charging him as he just back hoofed the pony coming as he looked at Mason/Tenebus right in the eyes. "Disgusting beast," he stated with a growl. "For all your power you're nothing more than a demon born from the fears and guilt of a poor mare. And yet here you are a sadist can't even fight without torturing somepony," Draco stated coldly.

Dynamo's ears perked as he heard someone uttering something to Mason. He looked over to see that it was Copper, who was already back on his hooves from his fight. "Copper? What's going on? What are you doing out here in the arena? I mean, don't get me wrong. I'm glad to see that you're okay, but I thought you would have been knocked out for a while." He says, a look of surprise was present upon his face. The gaming stallion remembered Copper was out cold after his final attack against Onyx. He knew Copper was strong, but he honestly didn't expect his friend to wake up so soon after his fight.

As he was about to keep protesting against his oldest friend's decision to be out of recovery, Dynamo stayed quiet and squinted his eyes as he thought he had seen a green aura enveloping Copper. It looked as if the aura was starting to heal Copper of his injuries. He didn't understand the reason at first, but it must have been due to the earth beneath his hooves. 'How is that even possible? I get that earth ponies and pegasus ponies have magic within them. Just like a unicorn has magical abilities. I always thought an earth pony's magic was both super strength and being in tune with nature. I guess their magic has some sort of healing properties.' He thought, smiling as he was glad that his oldest friend was going to be okay. The smile soon faded as he turned his attention back towards the fight. While one teammate looked to be okay. Dynamo knew that his other teammate needed his support right now.

"That is what I am saying," Jade said, looking at Dynamo. "Or she can at least use her powers in a similar manner."

Mason felt Rose's attempt to create portals at the ends of his tendrils. Rose wasn't practiced and was hardly able to concentrate, but it was clear that she would succeed in freeing herself soon. Mason had risked enjoying himself for too long.

"Well, you all know how the story ends," He said before standing with an erect posture and pulled his three tendrils out of Rose's chest. They rended the flesh when they were ripped out thanks to the hooks he'd created, spraying blood on the concrete. The tenebris entity swiorled around his body as a black, smokey haze with two ever shifting red eyes.

Mason didn't directly respond to anything Team Lotus was saying on the sideline, but he continued smiling despite it. He held up the knife and clenched it tight in his fetlock. "I've been very sporting!" He declared, "I gave you all the clues you needed to find out a way to beat me and you've made a poor showing." He held up the knife. "Was this Etherite daggar your only plan? How unfortunate."

Mason threw the brittle weapon on the ground and stomped on it with his hind hoof, shattering it into tiny glistening shards. "I wanted to play with you a little more, but your friends' voices grow irksome."

He raised his hoof again and the tenebris entity curled it's tail around the leg, forming a sharp, broad sided blade that looked like a dirk. The weapon solidified to the point that it was no longer transparent. "Now you die!" He shouted with his blade poised, he charged at Rose, aiming a clean strike at her neck!

Rose fell to the floor and watched as he shattered the knife, she started to try to figure out how to survive and what the clues were, if she can make him slip up, then might be able to survive this. She thought about the cut that he got, if she was able to get her shadow in and expand it, might win, but it would be dangerous. When mason came at her, she rolled to the side, as she covered the wounds with her shadow, and brought her arm up with it covered in her shadow to deflect it and give her more time. Maybe she could try and have her shadow with the pieces inside it act a brake.

Dynamo glanced over to Jade and nodded. "You're right. If she can use her shadow in the same sort of strategy, then she might have a chance. She also has to get her weapon back from Mason. Better to be safe than sorry when trying to take down your opponent."

"You can say that again. To be honest, I've had professors that were better at lecture's than this guy." He responded, before shaking his head. "If his stories are that of fiction, then I guess he fits more in the form of fantasy styled fiction."

"So, it looks like the parasite has finally begun to show its true self." He commented, feeling disturbed by the way that Mason was smiling. 'He actually gave out hints throughout the fight on how to defat him?' He thought back through the entire fight and recalled anything that may have been considered as a hint. Dynamo could only shake his head as he was lost. He couldn't even tell if Mason was telling the truth, or if he was twisting his words to try and mess with the group's minds. "If he was really actually giving out hints, then he was being way too subtle. Suffice to say, I'd really hate to have him as a teacher, or even a substitute teacher." He says, before his eyes shrank as Mason stomped his hind hoof upon the dagger. Effectively destroying the weapon on contact. "No!" He exclaimed as the weapon was nothing more than tiny glistening shards. "That's not good. Now what can Rose do? It looked like that weapon was somehow able to affect Mason. If he destroyed it, then how is she able to damage him? It's like he's practically immortal." He says, trying to think of a way to help his teammate. He still believed in Rose, but he couldn't think of a way to help as she lost an advantage with the destroyed dagger. He could only watch as she began to block and dodge when Mason moved in to attack.

Jade allowed a smirk to cross her muzzle from hearing Mason's frustration. "As I thought. Whatever Mason is, he has a frail ego."

She watched Rose closely. "Perhaps he thinks he is the only one with such powers at that level. But Rose is better than that. She just needs to be smart."
