Through the door on the right was a large room with doors to the four directions, as the line pointed more towards the left than any other direction that was the way to go. Through the door was section after section of seemingly the same hallway. But as she was reaching the end of the second section of straight hallway, the faint sound recognizable as the golom 173 came from behind.

The next room was thankfully not another section of the same hallway, but what seemed to be a dead end. The door opened to reveal a door on the left side, and a set of shelves on the right that held a document. The door on the left had a plaque that indicated the presence of something the scientists had contained, it bore the picture of a rusty cow bell, the number 513, and the classification of a Euclid Cognitohazard.

The map indicated that her target was just a bit further forward, and to the right.

(She has the keycard to go through the door with, if she does.)

The reader beeped positively as she swiped the card, opening to reveal a room padded in such a way as to dampen sound. In the center of the room was a pedestal topped by the shattered remains of a glass case holding an undamaged cowbell mostly contained in gel, though it could easily be acquired were she so inclined. The case had been shattered by a section of the wall that had collapsed inward, behind which was a small opening to another hallway.

(If instead of entering the room she turns around, moving to go back the way she cam at the apparent dead end)

For a brief moment she caught a glimpse of 990, before she instead had visions of 173 tackling her to the ground and snapping her neck, it felt oddly familiar. She was unharmed when she recovered from the visions, but had the distinct impression that she couldn't go back the way she came.

[Null]

Null had managed to stop Pen from opening the door by tackling her, forcing a dark shadowy creature out of Pen in the process due to her abilities. The creature condensed into a ball of shadow in the upper corner of the room.

Pen was clearly not physically strong as she tried to lift Null of of her, under Nulls hooves she felt no more durable than skin, if not a bit thicker than pony hide without the coat, like a minotaur hide perhaps?

(I assume Null gets off of her when she sees Pen about to blow her off)

Pen looked cross at Null as she took the map from her, before her eyes widened in shock at what she saw. "Oh." She passed the map back to Null. "I have no idea how, but 97's on the other side. One look at its face is a guaranteed death leaving nothing for a burial." She grimaced, "I don't see like you do, I can't 'close' my 'eyes', so I can't avoid seeing its face. But we need to get through this room, the auxilary power control is in there."

She looked helpless as she looked at Null more directly, "You'll have to go in there and flip the switch. That should get this door working so I can get through without seeing it."

So now the golem was back, to hunt her just like the goo monster had? Seeing how many times she had wandered up and down, taken elevators and been on the run, she guessed that meant that it too could keep track of her as much as it wished to.

Void's ears slumped as she kept on her way. No matter how this were going to end, the best she could seemingly hope for right now were that the two would fight over who got to eat her first, and buying her a few more minutes of life. What a miserable fate she stood to face...

Not a blink were sent towards the door with the cowbell, though if she had, she wouldn't have touched it either, as she had gotten a good idea that *If it's trapped, leave it* mentality were the way to deal with things here, so she just kept on following the map, and thinking that any second now, the floor would vanish beneath her, and the last thing she'd feel were her inside being crushed in some creatures jaws.

Wasn't like she could go any other way though. If she wanted to have even a shred of chance to find Null alive and well, she had to go on to where Panic said she should go. What had she waiting behind her anyway? An elevator leading down to a good monster, a blind hallway where she could at best spend a few seconds licking the wall paint before the very real problem of the golem would manifest, and do to her what it had been about to the last time.

*sigh*... Guess she were here then, according to the map. Just a quick right turn and she'd be face to face with whatever had called for her being dragged down here.

Urgh, gross. Not only did Pen look like a freak, but she were basically a ball of shadows in a hide? Null had known tentacle monsters and hide harvesters that did much the same, and just like with them, it were gross. At least this one weren't slimy, or infested with mites, so there were a silver lining if you really wanted to find it, but just... Urgh.

Null moved off the hide so that the ball could reenter it (guess this explained why Pen could squeeze in everywhere) and heard the creature ramble on about what they had to do now. And upon hearing the end part where she were told what she had to do, Null kinda wished that she had just gone and taken a nap on the discarded hide instead.

"Great. Just. Bucking. Fantastic."

If it weren't because she were desperate and willing to do anything for Void, she would not even dignifying this with a response, much less contemplation, but what the buck were she going to do? Say *No.* and then be stuck here? How could she do that, when Void required Null to do everything in her power to keep her safe. This was an enormous leap of faith, and she didn't trust Pen further than she could throw her - which considering Pen were mostly just skin, would be pretty far - though right now she had no other options, so she just had to suck it up, and if this then ended up killing her, find a way to haunt Pen until the creature jumped into a wood chipper to get away from the furious ghost.

"How's it activated? A lever? Button? Get talking before I change my mind on this."

(once she had been told what to expect)

Closing her eyes so shut that glue couldn't have done it better, Null slowly pushed forward, and wandered into the room. If she wasn't immediately killed, she'd follow the wall starting from her left, and make sure she kept feeling the hard surface so that she didn't get lost. Her target were apparently right ahead, so she just had to try and get to there without getting horribly killed by yet another crazed fiend. How easy it sounded...

(It's unclear what she does in your post. She's in a small room, to the left takes her into the containment area of the cowbell, which I've already described, trying to go back prompts 990's vision to her.)

(If I can rightly assume that she goes into the containment area, and comes nowhere near touching the bell, but instead continues through the hole in the wall, then yes she'd be a straight shot to her destination, and this scene reflects that.)

It was a bit of a tight squeeze, but she made it through the hole without incident, with any luck it would keep the golum back a bit as well. There was a blood stained note on the ground to the left, and the hallway extended to the left as well as straight ahead to where the map was pointing, it looked to be just a room away now.

(Presuming she goes forward as well.)

The door opened to reveal a white room, though dimly lit, a slight hissing could be heard from the other side of the left door. There was also a door on the right, both of which had a key card scanner.

(Her keycard can open either of them.)

Through the right door was a sort of observation area, through the window there was a large pressurized container with the lid open, a faintly red mist pouring out of it. Though there was nothing in this room that she could use. A radio built into the observation equipment crackled to life, "Oh good, you made it in one piece. Now, there should be a hazmat suit on the other side of the room, they built the chamberlock for this reason, so none of it should have gotten out. Nonetheless, they couldn't let any of this get out, I think they're just being too cautious. Lock that lid down and the heavy containment should be lifted."

Swiping the card for the left door there was a beep, but not initial response save for the hissing noise going down slightly, then a loud noise from the other side of the door like a shower, before the door before her opened, hanging on the left was a full body haz-mat suit, on the right wall was a button, seemingly to cycle the chamber lock to get in to the containment area.

(Once she's in there it's super simple to contain, just close the lid and turn the giant circle knob to close it. Easily the easiest scp to contain in the game.)

[Null]

As she entered the room, there was the sound of heavy breathing, mixed with a quiet sobbing, it seemed to be coming from the far corner of the room. For now it didn't seem to notice her. The door closed behind her as Pen moved to protect herself from seeing whatever this creature was. She had crossed halfway across the room, not finding the lever that Pen had described, before the creature reacted, its sobbing slowed, and wet sounding steps could be heard as it came closer to her. It made an odd cooing noise at her before it touched her lightly on the flank with a small rough appendage, right on her mark.

(I highly anticipate that she reacts to this but when she's done and as long as she isn't all turned around or dead, she'll find the lever on the far wall, straight across from where she entered from.)

(If she doesn't react, the creature will leave her alone for a bit, though it will touch her mane on her way back.)

Void tried the left one first, but as she heard the hissing noise, she skittered away from it and towards the right, where she'd try to swipe and get through before the other door opened. It might be harmless, but in this place, any sort of sound and unusual doors tended to be a gateway to trouble, and she already had two looming threats hanging ominously over her head. There wasn't enough of her to feed a third.

There were the voice of Panic once more, directing her to do more to secure his escape attempt. Void sort of wished she had it in her to simply make the sacrifice of denying him what he wanted, and accept her ultimate fate, yet as certain it seemed with both the golem and minotaur after her, she didn't want to risk Null for it. Her poor sister were broken to the core, but there were always the chance that she could find the light at the end of the tunnel, and for once in her life be happy. Void hadn't the right to rob that from her, and make this decision on her own.

Mostly though, it really were selfish. She couldn't bear to think of a life without her angry elder sister, but it were easier to think that she couldn't just abandoning Null after all that her big sister had done for her, and then try her best, than to openly embrace that it were just for her own well being.

"Okay, just... D-Don't let Null get hurt. She doesn't d-deserve those m-monsters."

Void wandered out and over to the now open door, where she'd step in, take the strange hazmat suit on, and wander into the area with the open box. For some reason she were just sure that if she were here for longer than four seconds, she'd end up like the victims of one of Null and her's cursed items: Infected with spores, and turned to twisted trees. Not a kind fate she expected.

Taking a deep breath, she went closer, put a shaking hoof on the box, and closed it down. Now were when the bad things happened, right?

Some might call her cold, but Null didn't get all emotional and wanting to help when she heard sobbing. Frankly it mainly made her want to beat up whoever were whining to really give them something to cry about. After all, she considered herself to know Real pain and suffering, from everything life just kept punching her in the face with, so seeing some snotty idiot crying over something mundane and pointless like a marefriend leaving, or hurting their hoof, were enough to make her pretty irritated.

Some had legitimate reasons, like death in the family, which were why she didn't act on her first reaction in that regard, and kept away from churches. Always either grief or joy that inhabited those places, and she had far too much of one, and none of the other, so she didn't care for input from others.

What she did care about though, were a certain being in the here and now, who seemed to be getting frisky.

"Hey! Buzz off."

She considered kicking the ever-loving daylight out of the thing to, to show that she did Not approve of being felt up, but knowing this place, the creature were likely made of pony eating goo and teeth, and she weren't willingly touching that.

Provided that her response did not end in her wholesale slaughter, she'd keep on moving until she eventually found the lever and pulled down, before turning around and going back the same way. Just to once again be touched by the strange, cooing creature.

"Touch me one more time, and I'll kick your face in."

Her voice dripped with anger. She did not like being touched at the best of times, and in this nightmare zone straight in Troy? Her tolerance were paper thin.

The hissing stopped almost immediately once the lid was down, and with an easy turn of the knob it stopped entirely.

For all of a moment it was silent, then the faint sound of air moving could be heard, the rumble she had heard from the previous section now here.

A metallic, yet slightly feminine voice, crackled over some unseen speaker in the containment room. "C dash zero zero eight Ninety eighty percent contained. Initiating cleansing procedure in containment area." Instantly a shower of something that wasn't quite water given how it seemed to fog up the visor on her suit covered everything in the room for a few seconds. The suit held, but the visor was fogged to the point that it was hard to see anything in particular out of it. "Scanning, C dash zero zero eight fully contained. Re-engaging air circulation in heavy containment area."

The door to the chamber lock where she had gotten the suit from was still open, and the only way out of the containment area.

Panic's voice then came over the radio, "Great, now she's moving in to my territory, if we don't hurry CODEX will lock this whole place right back down, and none of us will be getting out."

"Alright, just one last thing and we're home free. There's a scrapped invention in here, something one of the lead researchers came up with before the incident, something to interact with dangerous creatures without getting near them. With it, we can keep the monsters away, clear a path for us to get out. Luckily it looks like it's pretty close to where you are now. Once you have it we can meet up, then you and your sister can get out of here."

[Null]

The creature didn't seem to really react to her words so much as her tone, it hadn't reacted so much to the shouting as it had to the clear venom of her second line, more wet steps indicated its retreat to the corner it had been in when she had entered.

There was a sound from the hallway she had left Pen in of a door opening and closing, before she could hear her door open before her, which shut as soon as she passed through it.

(Assuming she opens her eyes at that point,)

Pen wasn't there, just the inky ball of blackness.

Then the side door that Pen couldn't open earlier opened, revealing her there on the other side, a worried expression on her face.

(The scene plays the same even if she doesn't open her eyes, but if she hadn't opened her eyes yet, Pen would say that it was okay to open her eyes now.)

Pen motioned for Null to follow, "We're almost there."

There was an audible shudder to the walls, the rumble of machines returning to life as a cloud of dust poured out of the air vents near them, the air was circulating again.

Pen looked to be in pure joy as she rolled around in the dust accumulating on the floor, leaving none wherever she touched, and giggling like a school filly. She also seemed to be growing larger, while she had previously been about Null's size, she was now a full hoof taller and longer.

Void stumbled around as the voice went on, trying to find her way out, but just wandering into walls most of the time as the somewhat female voice clinically went through some sort of procedure. She really should have been more scared of this, but for some reason she just felt dread, and a sense of whatever were getting sprayed soon going through her suit and melting her. Perhaps she were just... Scared out, after all the horrid things that had gone after her the last hour or so? Void didn't know, and there weren't much time to think on that before another, more familiar voice broke into her line of thought.

It didn't stop the thoughts unfortunately, as they were now starting to fester in the back of her mind, but it were more imminent and easier to focus on at least. So now she had to find some sort of invention, without knowing what it looked it, and that could protect them from the monsters? For how long? A minute? Few hours? What was the point of putting that much faith in some little device, when sooner or later, they'd all get hunted down and killed by those things anyway?

"I'll s-see if I can f-find something..."

Her shoulders slumped as Void told to herself that she had to at least try to find and use it so that she could see Null again, and she started to look around the sterilized room, looking for some sort of item that might seem inventory. Or anything besides the box she closed really, as for all she knew, the item could be formed as a pen, or a rubber duck.

If she didn't see it in here, she'd wander out again and look in the room before the dual doors, as the one with the radio in had seemed like it had absolutely nothing to pick up the last time she had wandered in there.

"W-What does it l-look like?"

She also hadn't taken off the suit, and unless she were told to, likely wouldn't at all, but just try to keep focus on what she were being told to do, like the little servant she apparently were.

So now the skin suit and her double had split up, yet the suit were still standing and talking? What the hay kind of creature were she even looking at anymore? Seriously, it were like there were two beings, and one of them sometimes vomited the other one up, whilst being either as lifeless as a piece of cloth, or fully capable of wandering around and talking like it was noponys business. Frankly everything about Pen was just... Absurd.

*sigh* Whatever. There were things to do, and seeing the look on Pen's face, clearly they were about to get into some more trouble. What, were she going to have to be set on fire and run through an oil field now?

"Better hope so. I'm getting sick of this place."

And the rumbling weren't helping either! This place didn't seem stable at the best of time, and something that could perhaps indicate that the walls were about to collapse were not making anything better. And if it weren't that, then what? More of their gadgets and weird machines at work? Doing what exactly? She could ask, but seeing how Pen were acting like a mixture between a feline on catnip and a dog in a field, she were likely not going to get anything coherent. Still, something had to be said. About the walls, as well as what the hay were going on with her growth spurt and dust eating.

"Hey, snap out of it, and start talking about what just happened there. Why did the walls rumble? Also, why are you rolling around like a dust sponge, and blowing up like a puffer fish?"

Pen were disturbing at the best of times, and now she were also getting bigger, and around the size of an actual pony, as compared to the small pegasus, who when standing next to her sister, always looked as if Void had taken a head's worth of height from the pegasus, and added to her own mass.

There was nothing in either of the rooms that seemed useful outside of a document detailing the effects of what she had just contained and why the light acid was necessary for a full containment.

The speaker crackled again as Panic spoke, "Well, it's either deployed, in the which case it looks like a pony, should be about the same size as you, or it's packaged, in the which case it'd be in a large suitcase, about the size of a small pony."

Her map beeped, "Here, I found its log, it should be right there on the map, at least that's where it was last recorded before the incident." The new target was shown at the end of a series of blank rooms. "I can see that there are rooms there, but I can't tell what they may or may not contain. The whole map system here was very poorly implemented. HE never would have accepted this." Panic seemed to be talking to himself at that point.

(Assuming she moves to follow the tentative map)

Moving to go back the way she came, the corner hallway was the same, the hole in the wall still providing a decent vantage to see into the room with the cowbell, though the hole seemed more damaged somehow, deep scratches lined the edges.

To the right the hallway continues, a bloodstained note on the ground.

(To the right)

The next room looked to be another set of elevators, but this time it was the elevators in poor repair, while the door looked to be functioning just fine, it looked like it would take a hoof scan to open. The elevator she could see indicated that this was the bottom floor of the shaft, and the car inside had fallen from quite a ways up, the doors were busted open and at least two corpses could be seen within.

[Null]

It wasn't long before all the dust was gone, and Pen was eyeing the air vent it had come from with a slightly sad expression before she regained her state of mind when the ball of shadow slapped her before pouring back inside her. "Oh! sorry about that..." she rubbed the back of her neck, "My kind, eat dust. Use it to grow and regenerate, I've been a bit low since I was last split, but with that burst now I'm just about full size again." Her smile faded at the seriousness of the situation, "The rumbling was just the air vents coming back online, meaning..." she looked confused, "That someone contained number 8." She looked over at Null, "Either your sister is rather resourceful and great at intuition, or we're not the only ones trying to get to the office area."

She sighed as she resumed their course forward, "In either case, it saves us a trip to 8's containment, we should be able to go right to the door control."

She led the way straight ahead, straight through a 4 way hall into a lock room almost exactly like the one they passed through to enter heavy containment. As Pen worked her card in the door, there was a teddy bear dancing on the other side of a security window, trying to get their attention.

Pen didn't seem to notice as the door opened and she continued forward.

Void hadn't looked long at the papers, as they didn't seem important, but the notion of acid had been worth biting into. Seemed like this suit were able to deal with that sort of thing, so... Probably best to keep it on, though it were starting to gnaw against something stuck in her bandanna. She'd have to check up on what that were eventually, but Panic's scratchy voice broke in and informed her of what next to do, so it would just have to join the pile of things swirling around her head.

The description of what he spoke of were weird though. About her size - which were about a head taller than a regular mare - yet could fit in a small suitcase? Was it a living, inflatable pony or something? Guess this place it could be. *sigh* And it likely ate brains or suffocated others too, with a fondness for earth ponies. Seemed to be her lot in life to run into mostly things that would have an easy time destroying her in this place.

So Panic had somepony in higher regards to some sort of standards around this place. Why would he? Didn't he just want to escape? And how did he record anything about the creature? Did it have a tracking device?

"Uhm... H-How do you track it? Does e-everypony in here have a t-tracking spell on them?"

And now to add to the depressing thoughts: Her having gotten something stuck in her body, that allowed her to be tracked like some sort of pet. Because it wasn't already tough enough to imagine her getting away from this place completely as it was.

Hanging her head a little at the thought, she wandered on, and soon got to the hole again that seemed different somehow. She hadn't really looked at it before, but had there been scratches? Guess so. If something had come this way, they would surely have just lounged in and torn into her, not play around like this, or just wander on. Must have been something she missed.

The bloody note on the floor though, that one she were pretty sure hadn't been there before. She'd have to check of course, but... Tentatively. It might be a trap, and she didn't want to die yet. She had some things to do first.

(she'd go and read it, then leave it. If something happened then, ignore the next part)

So now the map was leading her towards more elevators? And one of them, had gotten through a fate that seemed cruel in most situations, but considering what were in this place, death by falling elevator might be one of the kinder fates one could encounter. Looked like it would have gone quick at least, which were likely more than could be said if they had been caught by the goo monster.

Well, their grave aside, there did seem to be one other, though the door were locked, and it needed some kind of scanner to function to work? She thought she had seen something like this with the doctors when they arrived, and some rooms were entered, but she weren't sure if that had just been cards. Pressing any of the ones she had with her on the screen seemed to do nothing, so it had to be something else...

Rummaging around to see what else she had, her hoof landed on the horseshoe she had taken earlier from one of many decaying corpses in this place. The thing that had bored into her skin some after taking on the hazmat suit she were currently wearing, and she had more or less forgotten about throughout her hectic escape through this place. Could that do something now?

Tentatively, she pushed it on the screen, and would see what were going to happen, though if she'd even get on the elevator (if it worked) depended on whatever or not it were part of the map she were to follow. Otherwise, this were just going to end up being a test to see what the horseshoe were good for.

Null's voice dripped with hatred, as she imagined that robotic mongrel pulling Void around by the nose, just like he had with Null earlier. Useless creep was going to end up getting her sister killed by *helping* her, seeing as how his methods were just to throw ponies into dangerous areas without weapons, or any real idea of what went on. That couldn't happen!

A fire were starting to flare in her chest again, as she tried to push her thoughts more towards the part where she were going to tear Panic into small, compact pieces, and further away from the simmering pool of worry and fear over how yes, Panic were likely going to endanger Void's life even more than it already had been now, in his attempt to let everything in this place out, and if they didn't stop him from doing that, she were going to end up dead. Or considering this place, worse than that somehow.

She sighed as she resumed their course forward, "In either case, it saves us a trip to 8's containment, we should be able to go right to the door control."

"Then speed up. I'm not waiting around when that lunatic have my little sister. We're going to get her, and then I'm shoving whatever that *warhead* he babbled about earlier, up where Celestia don't shine."

Null didn't care for random doors nearby, or corpses, or that kind. Unless it was moving, she didn't care right now. The situation with Void had been bad enough when she assumed that her sister might be hiding somewhere, but guided by Panic? She had to find her little sister Now, before he got her into trouble she couldn't crawl out of.

However, as she were standing and waiting for Pen to get her slow flank in motion with the door, something did register out the side of her eye, and she glared over to find a... Dancing teddybear?

"Pester somepony else, bear."

She snorted and followed Pen through as the creature finally got the door up, so that they could get on their way. Annoyingly over-sized, bloody facility...

"Hey, what's the deal with the dancing plush bear? Does it eat folks?"

Might be a weapon then. What she used the one she had been carrying since Harrowmark for anyway. Soon as it were out of her field, it just waited until somepony touched it, paralyzed them, and ate them whole. Nasty business, but useful when trying to get out of sticky situations with idiots. Of course the Equestrians wouldn't like the idea of it being used, but what did she care?

The scanner glowed brighter as she brought the shoe up to it, unlike when she had tried the cards on it, after a second it beeped, and the large door parted at the middle to slowly open, spreading a gap until it was just large enough for her to get through without touching it.

The other side of the door was much like the side she was already on, only without a crashed elevator full of dead ponies.

Continuing along the path of the map, through the next door was a simple corner to the right, through that door however was something interesting.

The map indicated to continue forward, but on the left was another containment area, one marked with a large red sign. S-106, APOLLYON, Sentient and Violent. Next to it was a picture of the goo creature that had been after her in the tunnels, but it was slightly different, a bit less covered in goo. It actually looked more like a red-eyed changeling that was melting, or the head of one at least.

There was a key card reader next to it. (Even if she were crazy enough to try to go in there, her cards don't work.)

(Moving on)

Through the next door on her path to where Panic had pointed her, the door opened onto a platform with a railing, to the right was a sort of passageway to the other side of the room, or at least the railed platform on the far side of the room. To the left were a pair of stairways that led down from her and the far side of the room to the ground, about two or three stories down, into what seemed to be an empty room. But there was a glint of something shiny down there, under the passageway that led over on the right side, just out of the dim overhead light.

[Null]

(Unfortunately this bear isn't going to do anything,I don't need this getting gory and I lack expendable characters.)

Pen didn't react outwardly to any of Null's threats until she mentioned the bear, to which she looked back worriedly, but the bear had ducked out of sight before she could see it. "Yes actually, well, it doesn't eat them so much as it... re-purposes... parts of them, into more of it."

Through the next door, Pen immediately face hoofed as it opened. "Gah, no wonder she didn't bother with this side, it's worse organized than our side."

Right through the lock room was a large area that had been purposed as a testing room, a standard looking door in the center and an observation area on the right. Pen moved to open the observation area to pass through it, rather than go through the wooden door to get to the other side of the room. "Honestly, they don't even keep the other half of this test here."

The door opened for Pen's code, and she walked over to open the door on the other side. There were a pair of documents on the table, one of them had a surprisingly normal key taped to it.

Having thought it were bad enough, but getting a confirmation that Null and her were getting constantly tracked by this place made Void feel sick. What did escaping even mean if they could just be found whenever somepony new got in power here, and dragged right back into the same nightmare?

Void were feeling a metaphorical cloud hang above her by the time she reached the note, and reading it were not helpful either. It just made it worse in fact, as something among the ramblings of a tortured mad pony began pressing on that she in a more hopeful state had not wanted to believe, but with that veil drawn away from her eyes...

"Three... Years?"

Void felt like she were on the were of crying as she folded the paper and took it with her under the hazmat suit. The dog being possessed were a detail too familiar to when the coin had been released to make her think it was something else, and if that was the case, they had nothing left. The items would have gotten loose and caused havoc years back, Equestria would blame them for the mayhem and deaths, and what small semblance of peace they had managed to scrape together were all but gone.

She'd take this with her and show Null, but after that, they might as well throw themselves to the golem with eyes closed.

Everything after were just her going robotically through the motions, rather than really stand and think of what went on, as she imagined the town of Ponyville, and all the peaceful ponies within, falling prey to every horrible thing that had been left there, one by one. To think that they had ended up causing so many nice, innocent beings to suffer... What had they done?

Seeing the doors, and what were stated to be behind them, Void would pull forth her security card, take a few steps over, and almost swiped it, though she managed to stop there, and with a heavy sigh, went on her way. No point spending her time here, when she knew they were out there. They find her soon enough.

Freaking delays had been frequent enough without a notice coming though that the room were in disarray and needed a hoof. She didn't care, and just wanted to get through so that she could look for Void.

Seemed like they weren't gonna be there long anyway, as Pen opened the door to the other side and went through like she owned the place. Null followed troop, though she did briefly stop up to grab hold of the key, since this place were crawling with unlocks and it likely  were important.

She did give a brief glance to the documents, but unless sonething important were there, she wouldn't be bothered.

(It hurt me to read that response, and caused me to fix an error I had.)

The metal stairs were a bit loud as she went down them, the dragging hooves certainly didn't help in that regard.

Soon enough though, she was at the bottom. There was a door leading into the large room she had seen from above, as well as another stairway leading up to the balcony on the other side of the room from where she had started.

(Assuming she goes through the door.)

The room seemed even bigger from the ground than it had from above, a pale light illuminated everything just enough to tell where the walls were, and that it was all featureless.

Save for the shiny thing she had seen from above.

On closer inspection it seemed to be some sort of robot-pony, laying as if it had fallen down, and stayed there, though it seemed to be in perfect condition.

Behind it was a door that seemed to be partially opened, the interior glowed with a sickly purple light.

(If she goes to inspect the room)

Through the partially open door seemed to be some sort of storage area, documents as well as other odds and ends on damaged shelves. The purple light was coming from what seemed to be a fine powder that coated everything like it had been sprayed down from above.

There were a few certain items there that she might recognize, the very things she and Null had been keeping in Ponyville.

(Even if she doesn't inspect the room)

The robot-pony started moving, jerkily raising itself to its hooves, rotating each of its joints, before turning to face Void, it's face oddly expressive in a sort of curious way.

A speaker on a nearby wall crackled to life. "Ah, it's tracker came back online, somehow. That is the Silver Tower, the facility's own non-magical tool, capable of operating in a fully non-magical environment and thus perfectly suited to work with anti-magics without risk of infection or contamination."

The Silver Tower didn't react to the voice.

"You should be able to tell it to follow you."

Her map beeped indicating an update, looked like a pretty straight line to get to her next destination.

"Now it's time for us to meet."

[Null]

The document the key was attached to:

Spoiler

Description: P-860 is a dark blue key of unremarkable shape. At seemingly random intervals of time, a series of numbers, later found to be UTM coordinates, will appear on the key's blade. In the time P-860 has spent under containment, the numbers have changed three times, giving the coordinates for Site-██.

P-860 can fit in any door lock that requires a key located in the area of the given coordinates, and will function identically to the correct key for that lock. P-860 only works on door locks, and only if they are attached to a door; it will not work on any other type of locking device.

When P-860 is used to unlock and open a door, the door does not lead to its usual destination. Instead, it opens into a small forest clearing centered on an 80 cm wide footpath, designated P-860-1. Every observation of this grove has noted the presence of blue-colored mist.

As soon as any person enters C-860-1, the door automatically closes. From inside C-860-1, the door appears attached to an infinite concrete wall, and is locked. No attempts to break the door from outside, with personnel inside C-860-1, have been successful. Attempts to break the door from inside C-860-1 have resulted in [REDACTED]. See Document 860-III for more details.

The trail inside C-860-1 usually leads to another door attached to another infinite concrete wall. This second door leads to the normal destination room of the door on which C-860 was used.

Only the key she picked up didn't match the description, it was more ornate, like a normal key one would expect the mayor to award a particularly heroic citizen, only practically sized.

(It's SCP 005, though I suspect she wouldn't know how to use it.)

The next room was one that was familiar enough, it was the cafeteria, arranged almost exactly the same as when they had been brought there, however long ago that had been. The any drink dispenser was still there, and it seemed to be in the same condition as before, save for the thin layer of dust on everything. They were on the walkway that overlooked the eating area, up ahead were the stairs down.

The only new thing was a very large ball of what looked like yarn, with a concerning number of eyes attached to it. They all looked over at the two of them as they entered, a low masculine voice spoke from the ball. "Eric?"

The cloud hanging above Void's head were not clearing as she had wandered down the stairs, muttering to herself over and over again, that nothing mattered. Being faced with the things she had just before, had broken her in a way she hadn't felt since the last time her sister and her had been in Troy. Not when she lost her leg, but on the final day, when the limping Void had been pushed towards her sister by her father and yelled at to run away as fast as they could, whilst he and their mom did what they could to keep the guards occupied.

She still weren't sure exactly how Null had managed to get them out of there, since Void had a hard time going anywhere at the time, and Null always had been smaller than her, but somehow they had managed it. She barely took notice, as the only thing she saw were her parents taking a stand, and hearing those awful sounds of them screaming... It had all been a blur for her, and after that, she felt like she did now. Hopeless, scared, and alone. Though, now were worse. Back then, she had her sister, who pushed her own pain away to care for her distraught sister, whilst also pushing them to keep moving, in case there were some still out to get them. What did she have now? A disembodied voice, in a facility with seemingly no exit, and the knowledge that even if she got out, at least three entities were now confirmed to just being able to track her down no matter where she went, and end her.

She felt as dead as the metallic pony in front of her, though that one didn't have to think over these kinds of pain, as it were either a kind of statue, robot, or just dead. Lucky creature...

A large sigh left her muzzle, and she slumped into the next room, expecting to find a brain eating mold or something of the kind, but were instead faced with shelves full of things covered in some sort of glowing, purple dust. Surprisingly, nothing jumped of the shelves and took a stab at her, which made her slowly wander in and take a few things off the shelves, to see what were here. Perhaps she'd be lucky and find a couple of cyanide pills or something.

Let's see. Some sort of broken mirror, a cube with weird symbols carved into it, a blowpipe with a few darts attached to, a pulsa- Wait... What?

Void paused as she looked back and held the blowpipe in front of her, so that she could really get a good look on it.

After a few seconds, she clutched it close, and fell to her knees, sobbing uncontrollably within the hazmat suit.

She'd recognize this thing everywhere. Ever since Null and her had stolen it from those grave robbers around twelve years ago, it had been one of her sisters most used items. The darts were possible to get hold of again and as it were curses and not venom, the effect didn't stop, and even though they lost a few here and there, of the four they still had left at the time, two seemed to still be hanging on to the old, hoof-carved thing.

Whatever the purple dust did in here wasn't going through her head right now, as much as just thinking about what this meant for them. Back in the day, before Troy had stolen them back, Null and Void had locked up all the things in their little house before going to the hill to enjoy the view a little. This one in particular, she knew that her sister had triple locked just to make sure, and if it were here, that must've meant that this horrible, horrible place had stolen them too, along with them. And it made her so happy in this bleak hour that they had.

If they were here, that meant that Ponyville would be okay. They'd have to explain where they had been, and beg to come back, but there wouldn't be death in their wake that would make them pariahs. They... They might actually have a glimmer of hope now, as small and out of reach as it may seem. Yet considering that mere seconds ago, all she saw were the inevitable end, a light - no matter how dim - were something she'd cling to.

Getting up again, she looked around for her own weapon, but the nagitana weren't on  the shelves. Even covered in dust and taken apart, none of these things could be mistaken for it. That was bad, as she could really need it to feel safe right now, but still, it had been on the same shelf in the vault as the blowpipe, so if that were here, that just meant it were store d someplace else. Normally she'd freak out about there being others in control of it, and she likely would later, but it didn't even register with her as she had a glance at what else might be there that she could use. If as nothing else, a blunt object.

Her map beeped indicating an update, looked like a pretty straight line to get to her next destination.

"Now it's time for us to meet."

She almost missed what Panic were saying to her, as her mind was scrambling by to try and find anything that would give her another tiny glimpse of hope in here. Eventually it had gotten through, and mentions of a Silver Tower of some kind got in, though she hadn't a clue what he meant. Sounded like some kind of automaton like a robot or... Golem...

The thought sent a fresh wave of dread over her, as she recalled one of her followers. She couldn't linger here, and let it get to her before she got this blowpipe to her sister. Null needed to see it.

After a quick look, it seemed like everything in here were what Null and her considered small stuff. Still incredibly dangerous, as they didn't exactly keep any item because it were just messing around (except that weird thing the Kitsune had made) but it were less likely objects to kill things that were in here. And sadly, none of them were sharp, or particularly good at beating things up with.

Working under the assumption that if they cleared the dust, they'd work, she grabbed three things: A small pair of green, fuzzy dice, a half meter tall bamboo rod with a shriveled dragon's eye embedded into the top of the presumably empty thing, and an 8 ball.

The dice were something that had a habit of luring anypony who touched it to just start charging headfirst into harder and harder surfaces, until they eventually hit one too hard as too high a speed, at which point it'd materialize in the nearest tourist shop, stand, or the like, ready to lure somepony new into grabbing it and starting the whole process over. It had taken a week for the sisters to get hold of it, and that had mainly been by pure chance, since it never spawned at the same stand or shop, and they had never left it out of their sight since then.

The bamboo were more akin to a wand than anything. It would set fire to the last creature that had been touched, who had thereafter been pointed at with the eye. Sounded like a sweet deal, if it were because it were only good for two uses, and on the third, it would messily devour the user in a manner that were frankly revolting to describe. Somewhat easy to ignore, but whoever used it would always end up dead. Either by somepony else wanting the power and turning it against them, or them getting greedy and thinking it wouldn't happen to them, a loved one touched it and accidentally had the eye towards them at some point, etc. At the time they found it, a war had broken up over it, and it had apparently ended over six hundred lives before that. They had used it a few times, but mainly just to smack things away with, as the curse didn't affect them.

The ball were a far more nasty piece of work. Some kind of conjured or twisted creature that for some reason went dormant around anti-magic, though when it wasn't, it went around and after finding a target, would replace one of their eyes, and start taking control over the creature. After that it were just a matter of minutes of it seemingly playing around with the body and making weird noises through the host, before apparently getting bored, and leaving the host again to look for a new, more interesting vessel. Technically it hadn't killed anypony directly, though the trauma of the insertion and extraction weren't exactly without complications, and even then, a throve of semi to fully blinded beings in its wake weren't good either.

It had been pretty weird when it actively went for Null and Void, even after that one time they lost it and it then tracked them down. Void just figured that it liked to sleep instead of going around like that, or thought they would bring it to a good body. Null figured it were just dumb and didn't get that it wouldn't be able to do it to them, so it just kept going. Like a bee in a window.

Either of these might prove useful, but she'd have to be out of her and shake them free the best she could, so she turned around and froze for a moment, as the robot stood and looked her way with the blank, faceless expression. A few thoughts of this being about to drop its head and release an ocean of eels or something came to mind, but that didn't seem to be the thing, so she'd hesitantly try to do what Panic had said, though a wave of dread seemed to flush in over her from the potentially last encounter she'd ever have in her far too short life.

"...F-Follow me? P-Please?"

If it did, she'd lead the way ad head for where the map directed her, not slumping in her steps anymore, though the dark cloud were not gone from her mind. The dim degree of hope she had managed to scrounge up from finding these things would only keep that away for so long, unless something would happen to brighten her horizon substantially all of a sudden.

(Null)

Key that lead to another world? Sounded like a sphinx claw she hadn't managed to grab a few years past just before Void and her entered Neighpon, just with less tentacle monsters and screaming. A disgusting thing, but the best she'd been able to do were to kick the pony who had it through to the other side before the gate it opened closed, and then hope he got eaten or something, so it wouldn't return. Might of course also provide a way into their world for monsters, but that sounded like a problem for others, not her.

Still, she'd take this with her, just in case. Worst case scenario, she could throw somepony else in, and they'd wander out somewhere else. If it even worked when she used it, though there weren't time to test that right now. They had work to do.

And no, they hadn't time to stop for a drink in some cafeteria that looked like the one they had been in a few days ago, just dustier, and clearly not something that'd been in use for ages. Weren't even time to see if the machine over there worked like the first one she'd seen, but even if it did, they didn't have the strange coins, so what were the po- What the hay was that?

Null had suddenly bitten notice in the thing that seemed to make this room its home. Living yarn monster it seemed. Weird, and yet for this place, surprisingly tame looking. It probably spewed acid or ate legs to make up for that, though right now it were just asking for something or somepony called Eric. Her immediate instinct were to tell it of a few orifices it needed to stitch into itself so that she could tell it where to shove Eric, though another told her that perhaps there were a chance to just give one answer, then be left alone over this, rather than having to deal with another delay. Sure it'd involve lying, but if Null didn't lie, she'd likely be serving fifty consecutive life sentences right about now, so what did she care?

"Yes?"

[Void]

The robot was surprisingly quiet as it moved to follow her, making much less noise than one would expect from metal on stone. Before Void turned away from it it moved its mouth as if to speak, but the sound that came out was highly garbled and unintelligible. Its face shifted into a confused look, many minute clockwork mechanisms moving to achieve the effect, before it resorted to pantomime as its back opened to reveal a storage area, it indicated that the items could be stored there rather than be carried.

Whether Void put the items there or not, it would follow her.

Following the map, they would go up the other stairs from the ones Void had come down, thus reaching the far balcony from the one she had entered the room from. If she were to glance backward at the first balcony, she would see that the clay golem (I can never seem to spell this right) had caught up to her again. It would still have to get down, then back up, so they had some time to get some distance between them.

The next room was a four way, a locked door on the left with a containment sign featuring a large coffin, Keter, Cognitohazard. The map indicated that they should go right, then straight on till the end of the hall. (To keep pacing I'll stop there, given these halls are very blank there won't be too much going on for Void as we keep Null moving.)

[Null]

The yarn ball looked curious, it rolled closer to her, all the eyes now looking at her. It didn't seem convinced that she was who it was looking for.

"Eric?" The tone was lower this time.

Pen had taken the opportunity to move past it to get to the door on the far side, opening it and gesturing for her to follow, but not saying anything.

The robot were kinda creepy in its own way. Not currently trying to squash her head in or anything like it, but it was... She didn't know, there was just something off about it.

Well, at least her spine wasn't getting smashed currently, so there was that to it at least, though she opted on keeping the items she had now with her. However, she would put the items she had found around the place in there as well as she could. Most of them were not things she needed as immediately, and most of them she recalled. Not the crumbled up paper that had her name on it and something about *-ville* though... No, she'd have to cover that later. They needed to get moving.

Getting some way through and towards the road that were so far not filled with creatures beyond comprehension, she cast a tenuous glance backwards, worried that something might be sneaking up on them. A bad move it turned out, as she spotted an old, familiar face in the distance

*Whimper.*

It were some way from them, and had to cross up and down some realistically, but seeing it's massive form made all of that kind of logic just shrivel up and die, as she imagined that it would simply jump over and leave her as little more than a smeared out stain down the hallway.

"F-Follow quicker. P-Please!"

Void couldn't just stand here and be smashed to bits now. She had to get to Null and let her know what happened before they got killed. They were likely both dead afterwards, but Void needed to get to her sister first. At least they wouldn't die knowing nothing then.

(Null)

To chop or not to chop, that were the question.

It would be so easy. The yarn freak was right in front of her, and the eyes looked like easy targets, but then what? She'd get wrapped up? Strangled? Were it even an enemy?

Urgh, why were she having thoughts like this when there were an emergency going on here? Go with the first instinct and get a move on, or the skin walker would just flutter off again like it were no biggie.

"He's that way. Go do whatever to him."

She pointed to the door they had come in from, and would run towards Pen. With some luck, she wouldn't be wrapped up like a salami and they could get on the way. If this thing tried even the slightest, she'd snap and start chopping at it like a deranged woodsman until it got out of reach, or made her stop. Forcefully.

[Void]

The robot only nodded at Void's request, now following a bit closer to her than before as it had already been keeping excellent pace with her. Out of the room that the golem was in, following the path to the right, and starting down the straight hallway. The next segment had a door on the left side, then the following segment had a door on the right side. That door was flanked with a picture of an old style theater mask that represented tragedy, it was labeled C-035 Keter, Cognitohazard, Sentient.

When they had initially left the large room the sound of the golem charging down the stairs was deafening, but quickly grew quieter as they put doors behind them, the robot dutifully closing behind them each door they went through. When they got to the section with the door with the mask the sound of the golem moving could hardly be heard.

[Null]

The yarn ball let Null pass without incident as it rolled in the direction that she had indicated, before calling after Eric again. It made no attempt to stop them as they left, Pen closing the door behind them. "I've never read of anyone doing that with it, good thinking."

Through the door was an immediate turn down some stairs into a large set of towering metal boxes, all as tall as two of Null, some of them having tipped to lean on others. Pen looked around the maze that the tipped towers had caused. Above them was a catwalk that extended over the towers, and a stairway on the far side of the room led up to it. "I'll squeeze through and get up there and see if I can find you a way through to it." Without waiting she jumped in between the nearest pair of towers, flattening herself out as she did before she disappeared completely from sight.

(If Null wanders a bit)

Despite the initial appearance of a maze, there was really only one path as all the branches died off within a pace or two. But she would quickly find a set of shelves with 3 batteries on it.

The sound of the golem getting quieter and quieter were a good sign, but Void knew well that this didn't mean that she were out of thew woods. It were going to keep on chasing her, until either it were destroyed aor she were dead, and she had no idea how to even begin destroying something like that. Especially since if you blinked, you were dead, and there weren't anything that could melt that creature in the seconds she could keep her eyes open. What were they to do? Lure it into a volcano? That were likely just going to annoy it.

The image of herself being beaten down by a clay monstrosity with red-hot hooves dripping with lava oozed into Void's mind and made her shiver. Such a horrible fate to have to face, and yet... A potential one that she didn't know how to escape from. Well, other than feeding herself to another of t hem that were. Like the one behind the door she just passed.

So far she didn't really get what the marks meant, but so far, she had grasped that Keters are what Null and her would classify as Rank 1 or S, in the system they ran with the cursed items they had picked up through the years. Nasty stuff that weren't supposed to ever be let near anypony, or calamity could strike. Like the 50 bit coin, or in this place's category, 108. Hopefully a creature she'd never be faced with.

As for the mask, the thought had briefly been there to open the door, and see if she could make the two things fight one another, but the overwhelming sense that she wouldn't make her world a brighter place by releasing something both Keter and sentient, stopped her, and despite her slowing down briefly and look at the entrance, she had ultimately moved on. Sentient might mean that you could talk with the thing in question, but it could just also mean that it were more focused and sadistic. It were Keter, so it had to be something not suitable for life to be near, right?

Of course, she'd have to follow the map, so if it started to show she needed to try and move through there... This could well be nasty. With her luck she'd be forced to do so, but just maybe there were another way, instead of into the shark tank of the next big thing that would chase her to the end of the earth, just to taste her coppery life essence.

Null weren't good at receiving compliments. Generally because she didn't believe that anypony ever meant it when they said something nice about her, but she sort of accepted it here the best way she usually could: By not insulting Pen to her face or sneering towards the skinwalker. This was about as close to a *Thanks* she'd get in situations like this.

She couldn't really believe that nopony had lied to the yarn monster before either. Why not  just jerk it around about that Eric guy? It weren't exactly smart. otherwise it wouldn't have believed her the first time she had talked off it, or would've gone suspicious when she pointed to where they came from all of a sudden. Clearly it was as dumb as a door nail.

Well if Pen thought that she'd just stand here and wait like a good little silly, she'd be sorely disappointed, as Null almost immediately went on her way through this kind of maze. Sure it had a few dead ends and such, but it were surprisingly easy to navigate through anyway. And what did they have here? Batteries?

Null send a few curse words towards the concept of faith and irony, over her needing these things for ages, and now when she didn't have the radio anymore, finally found them. Well, this junkyard likely had some other stuff for it, and she weren't gonna just leave them after how much they'd seemed essential earlier, so they were coming with her too, and then she'd get on her way. Had to keep in motion before Pen ran off and sicced a five headed dragon or something on her.

Continuing to follow the map, more featureless hallway, a room that split off with a door to either side as well as one forward, which the map indicated. Through that door was more featureless hallway.

The robot easily kept pace with her, even as it closed the doors behind them.

The golem could no longer be heard behind them.

[Null]

It wasn't long before Pen called out to her from above, which was about the same time Null managed to find the stairs herself. "Oh there you are," Pen waved from the overhead walkway the stairs led up to. "Looks like you didn't need my help after all." She would wait for Null to get up to her before continuing through the next door.

The next room was a T room that clearly used to have quite a bit of traffic, a well worn path in the tile floor leading from the door on their left to both the door they had entered the room from and the door across the room from them. Pen simply crossed the room to go through the next door.

The next room seemed to be a sort of office area, a series of desks with scattered papers, mugs, and other office supplies. A large poster on the wall bore the strange triangular image she had seen when she had first woken up in this facility, next to it was written "Deep Science, From the deep a great light shall emerge!"

(Things should get interesting shortly.)

Perhaps this place was just making her even more paranoid than she usually were, but Void didn't like the empty hallways as much as one might think. This place so far had been a mess of debris, broken stuff, corpses and monsters. A hectic, chaotic mess from which nothing good would spawn.

Now all of a sudden though, the place were practically pristine and untouched, and the more doors the robot closed behind her to separate them from the golem - which would obviously just break through eventually - the less immediate dangers seemed presence. It were like an oasis of calm, or a sanctuary of sorts, but in a a place like this she just couldn't believe it. Something had to be wrong here, right? Unless of course, this was one big trap, and the monster in this place were actually the one cutting her off from... Going back...

A shiver went down her spine as she thought of that. The path behind lead to nothing biut instant death, sure, yet in a way it also did well in keeping her options limited. Either through its own will or by some control of Panic, and neither of those were comforting.

Void were mostly just grasping at straws here though, wanting to find something dangerous here so she wouldn't have to keep worrying about what sort of hell-spawn were going to all of a sudden phase through a wall, jump from the ceiling, or picking one of countless other horrifying entrances to what would turn into her less than pleasant end.

Passing through yet another door, they found themselves in yet another featureless room, which Void would scurry through as she had the previous path, whilst sending several paranoid glances to every corner or wall in this room.

She had also been trapped and led around some for days or even months, yet Null's story with the kitsune weren't any of Pen's business. Neither were the other instances where things had often gone pretty badly, including being trapped in a hedge maze that had been set on fire. It had been a confused mess of smoke and flaming bushes as far as the eyes could see, and it were frankly a small miracle it itself that Void and her had managed to escape in time, even though they were missing several patches of fur after the ordeal.

The particular experience in mind ran through her head as she followed Pen through to the next room. This one seemed nice and quiet, so there were the bit of time for an old trip down memory lane. Not too long, as this was a small room, but enough to get the details flushed out of her head so she could get back to focusing on the important stuff. Even if she could push it away, there'd still be something nagging her, so this were probably a good thing to get over with. They'd pass into the next room in a second, and things were probably going to get bad in there.

Aaand instant disappointment.

This were just an office area of some sort, with their propaganda and garbage littered around, which would have ticked her off before she had gotten a tour down this messed up place, but now would at best wonder which sort of thing belonged to the *doctor* who stood for her kidnapping, so that she may spit on it. A petty act, but sometimes that were the sort of spiteful thing that made you feel better for at least a little while.

They passed another T room, this one with a door on the right though nothing special about it.

The next room there was finally something different.

It was a straight hallway, but right in the middle of it was a giant Tesla Gate like she had seen earlier.

The robot paused at the sight of the active gate, before looking to Void for instructions.

Just like before, the get hummed louder as one approached, and would fire off once it charged up fully, but only if one were close enough to it.

(If she does like she did last time, the robot will do the same and they both get through, otherwise a different outcome based on what you put.)

The next room was another empty hallway.

But finally, they reached a corner to the right, a door on the left wall was labeled Maintenence, but the map said to go right. According to said map they were getting very close.

[Null]

Pen hadn't stopped yet, and she didn't seem keen on stopping now.

The next room was a 4 way, and she continued forward.

The second room was a set of larger cubicles, much like the workstation the dragon way back when they tested the drink machine had, with more scattered notes and things.

The third was a hallway, a door near the end of the right side was labeled Data Storage Access.

The fourth was a corner to the left, with a door set into the right labeled Electrical Room, where Pen went to swipe her card. "Alright We're finally here." the door opened for Pen, revealing a dimly lit staircase upward. In the upper room were stacks of boxes of documents, and a small room with a number of different switches on a wall panel. No sooner had they climbed the stairs than the lights cut out, blanketing them in darkness.

One of these again. How was it it that she got past these the last time again...

Void had to stand and mull over it for a dozen seconds or so before she recalled what were going on. Precious time likely, but the alternative were to just get fried, and that wasn't a real option just yet.

Looking back on the uncanny valley robot, she gulped down what felt like a golf ball with spikes.

"S-Stay close."

The process wouldn't take terribly long, and she could feel some of the hair on her tail feel all tingly and somewhat singed at the tips from the electricity in the air, but if the robot had stayed close, they should make it through unscathed.

Once on the other side, Void looked back at the gate, and thought about how it might be to go through that process. Likely it would be painful, but then again... Compared to the golem or goo monster catching her? This might end being the kindest way out for Null and her in the end. Perhaps it would be best if she remembered where it were, though for now, they should get a move on. There were probably still some way to go before her sister and her would be reunited.

They hadn't gone long before they were at a crossroad. On one end, there were a maintenance room. On the other, the target they were send for by Panic. Not a creature she wished to obey orders from, but she had seen how he could keep watch over Null earlier, and could bar her from getting on if he so wished. If she didn't follow his word, he'd likely trap her with some sort of horrible entity, and then she wouldn't get to see her again. Void wanted to find her sister and talk things out with her, but working against the plan would just end up causing the opposite, and she wasn't ready for them to die just yet.

Still... The maintenance room might have something important...

"S-Silver? Could you uhm... O-Open the maintenance door, p-please?"

The thing was made of metal, it would be fine if he took a brief look, right? Just a few seconds to see if there was something good there - like food - and then they could get on their way. provided the room wasn't a mimic of some kind who'd devour anypony who opened it. You never knew with those creatures.

(Null)

Through the first three rooms, it became pretty clear that Pen certainly weren't a stranger to how this place were set up. Her steps were far too secure as she wandered along and lead them closer to what Null would guess were that Codex creature, machine, or whatever else it might be. A demonic rubber duck? In this place, it wouldn't bloody surprise her.

Meh, whatever. Sooner they'd get to their destination, sooner she could find her little sister, and with Panic stringing her along, there weren't much time to waste. Guess it were a perk to have somepony here that had been working with the mongrels running this junkyard then, though Null still weren't feeling quite right around the skin walker. Perhaps just her paranoia, and extra layer of distrust to anypony who ever had something to do with this place, even if she agreed that a facility like this were needed for keeping the seriously dangerous freaks locked up? She didn't know, and right now, she didn't care much either, long as she ended up getting closer to Void.

"Oh yey, total darkness."

The sarcasm rolling off Null's tongue were thick enough to cut into slices, though somewhat muffled from her clenching down harder on the hilt of her salvaged axe. Light suddenly going out like this weren't making her think that anything good were about to happen. Not with her luck.

"Taking a wild stab in the dark and say that this is the precursor to something attacking us, so got any bright ideas to light up this joint, or can you see in the dark?"

Null hadn't that many things with her that could help. She had some batteries, sure, but what were they gonna do? Beyond that she used to have some electrical stuff, but those had been fused into that weird sensor machine or whatever it were that Pen lumbered around with. So either the skin crawler would get a grip on something fast, or they'd end up having to defend themselves against some sort of goo monster, mutant vampire bat, or pack of ravenous pixies. The later of those being one she had tried being on the wrong side off once, and could testify to being far worse than it sounded. Monstrous little bloodsuckers those pixies...

(Switching it up)

[Null]

"I can't, but Seen can, just give him a second." There was the faint sound of Pen moving into the small room with the switches, and clipping the doorway with her whither as she entered. There was the sound of a switch flipping, then another, on the third switch flip a series of emergency lights lit up above them, casting the room into faint light. (If you'll forgive me) Null could swear she saw 900 with a hoof on one of the switches, but it dissipated almost immediately.

With a fourth flip the main lights came back on, "Figures it'd be the last switch."

Now that the lights were on the labels on the switches were visible, Remote Door Control was now Off, Emergency lights was now On, Main lights was now on, Main Elevators was now On.

[Void]

The robot nodded with a smile as it moved over to the door to open it, behind it was an access of some sort, looked like a stairway downward, but the roof had collapsed, making the stairs unpassable.

(I assume she then moves to follow the map.)

The next room was an odd sort, it wrapped around to the left of a sort of metal containment area that dominated the center of the room. On the right side, which would enter the center area, had a containment plaque next to it with a grainy image of a very emaciated looking equine with very sharp teeth. It was labeled Euclid, C-966, Violent. On the left, which led out of the containment area was a normal door. The map indicated to go this way.

(If she does not try to open the containment area.)

The next room was the one that the map told her to go to, a large open area that had a wide stairway leading downwards to a large security door, to the right of the door was another containment plaque with the image of what looked to be an open black file folder with a white sheet of paper stuck to the open flap. (It looks like a laptop, but I highly doubt she'd know about laptops.) A nearby speaker crackled to life. "Ah good, you're here. I'd open the door for you, but CODEX has had these doors locked down, trapping me in here since the incident."

[Both]

A weak voice came over the intercom. It was gruff, but there was a very real feel to the sound of it. "Can anyone hear me?" Whoever was talking muttered to themselves that the system probably died long ago, then in a clearly sarcastic voice talked about 'Protocol' and 'Warning the monsters before shooting them up' or something like that, before clearing his through to speak into it directly. "Attention, Mobile Task Force Scarves of Red is entering the facility. Any remaining survivors should surrender immediately to be processed once the facility is secure." There was then muttering about 'That good enough for you boss?' before the speakers cut out.

[Void]

Panic's voice came back, and it actually sounded a bit panicked, "Great, those idiots are going to break the seal. We need to move quick if we're going to get out before anything else does, and they thus collapse the facility on top of us."

[Null]

Pen's eyes looked back at the switches, noticing that the elevators were on before looking down at her hoof, which held the switch that had formerly been attached to it. "Oh this isn't good. We need to move fast, get past the elevators before this task force gets to our level."

Without a second to confirm with Null, she started moving, fast, back the way they had come.

"Who the hay is Seen?"

That name hadn't been one that Null could nod to having heard before. Were it somepony invisible that had followed them? Surely had to be something like that if Pen implied that whoever that were could help them with the switches and such, because she hadn't seen anypony else. Unless it were some sort of creature she had trapped with her in the skin suit? Y'know what? Usually that would sound like crazy talk, but this here were a crazy place, so sure, just go for that.

Null might've been starting to figure that Pen had just made a bad joke or gone off to the deep end when the light actually came on, following the sound of a switch being flipped, which implied that there sure were somepony in here that meddled around with things. However, she were more focused on the faint, illogical view she had gotten of 900 at the switches after the emergency lights had gone off. It had barely been more than a faint imprint one could say, but she weren't gonna forget that thing anytime soon, so it had been more than enough for her. Unless she were actually starting to go crazy, she shouldn't be seeing the one who led Null and Void to release the coin to start a massive breach in this place.

"What's your end game here, 900?"

She asked this to them room, pretty sure that she weren't gonna get an answer, but it were helping her vent off right now, in a way that didn't involve putting an axe in some sensitive machinery. Pen could call her crazy if she wanted to for that. Not like Null cared. Unless it turned out that 900 were actually called Seen, at which point she'd end up rolling her eyes and grumble out some pretty colorful phrases.

Well, whoever or whatever had pushed around, it at least looked important, if the labels were anything to go by. Null weren't a machine specialist or whatever they were called, but those things at least seemed to be good ones where they stood. Whatever else went on under the hood, she hadn't a clue, and it might not be important for her anyway.

Seeing as the door had been a bust and didn't make Void learn anything else than apparently, Silver could smile - somewhat disturbing sight that had been - she had lead them on from there and into the next room, like the map showed.

A pretty strange room it turned out to be, as it seemed to have a containment room that the rest of the area just fitted around, rather than it being placed to not inconvenience the paths and such.

Considering the image on the plague, along with the description, it were likely for the best. Whatever this creature were, and whatever Euclid stood for, it were marked as violent, and enough things here were loose already that were prone to that.

Where she curious? Somewhere yes, but not enough to risk herself, nor Silver. Void were getting doubts about whatever or not said robot were a little more alive than she had first thought, so that just complicated matters further.

Thankfully it seemed to be completely unavoidable, so they could wander past and head for their actual goal rather than waste more time here.

Next room were open area with a pathway down, which proceeded without incident, until they reached a door that seemed like an actual containment thing again, though this time without a plague? All she could see were some pieces of paper that didn't seem to have anything to them. Were this were Panic were locked up? And if so, why didn't he have a warning label?

Well, whatever the reason, it seemed like they had to get this open now, and then Panic would regrettably be free, where he could cause even more harm more than likely. Whatever his end goal were, it were likely not something that would do anything good at least.

Still, she weren't sure how to get this open safely, so she turned to one who might.

"Uhm, S-Silver? Could you p-please try and open the d-door?"

(both)

The responses varied between the sisters, with Void having the color seemingly drain from her face as she heard the task force announce themselves. Sure it could be salvation, but these creatures worked for the same beings who ran this place. They'd just go and lock up her and Null all over again, no questions asked, and this time they wouldn't have the coin to fall back on. As such, her response were more regards to feeling like somepony had kicked her in the stomach, whilst starring at Silver and hoping that he could sort this before they got shut down, and potentially thrown in an even bigger, more light-starved hole next time.

Null on the other hoof, openly started to curse like a sailor and stomped on the floor until Pen sped off, at which point she'd follow as quickly as she could as well.

"I swear, if the idiot patrol harms a hair on my sister, I'm feeding them to something in here."

She really should've been asking about protocol and such, but right now, her mind were more focused on getting hold of Void before these creature did. Who knew what'd happen of depraved things if they got their hooves, claws, or whatever on her first?

[Void]

Silver nodded, though it looked less sure. It went over near the picture and activated an unseen card reader, and the large security door opened to reveal a corner, and another security door to the right.

"I know, overkill right? Not that I could even get out with the doors open."

(Assuming she opens the next door as well, though not is perfectly valid and would result in more manipulation on the side of Panic until she does.)

The next door opened to reveal what had been contained within, down another short but wide staircase was what the previous picture seemed to be of, though a bit different. It seemed to be a pair of black mage-stones, like an especially rich unicorn or magically inclined Minotaur would use to practice runes, attached on the long side like the covers of a book. It sat on a table, open, and facing them, though nothing happened.

To the right was some sort of control room with frosted glass, likely one way, though which the silhouette of a pony could be seen standing and looking out, it moved a bit as they entered as if looking at them. "Finally. Alright, have Silver Tower approach the object on the table there, then we can both get moving."

[Null]

Pen could really get moving when she wanted to, though it seemed she wanted Null to keep up as she wasn't getting further away from her. They had gotten as far as the maze before Pen ground to a halt, having noticed the golem trying to navigate the laberinth below. It seemed to have noticed them too, as it had its face pointed right at them. "Shoot, we'll have to go around it."

She kept her eyes, or eye holes, pointed at it as she moved onward to the next room rather than try to continue the way they had come the first time.

The next room was a hallway with a pair of bathrooms, surprisingly the only bathrooms they had encountered up to this point.

Void didn't understand enough of this system to get if it were hard or easy to get through normally, but something told her that it weren't meant to be simple, and that however difficult it might be were there to make sure that a dangerous creature didn't escape. That being Panic himself. Even Silver didn't seem like he really wanted to do this, which had to be a red flag of some dimension, yet at this point in time, there weren't much of a choice left. Outsiders had come in to deal with this place, and unfortunately, Null and her counted as part of this places inventory in their eyes. The time to think morals and second guess if she could go through with this were over.

To the right was some sort of control room with frosted glass, likely one way, though which the silhouette of a pony could be seen standing and looking out, it moved a bit as they entered as if looking at them. "Finally. Alright, have Silver Tower approach the object on the table there, then we can both get moving."

So that had to be him behind that frosted glass, right? Less imposing than expected, but knowing this place right, he'd end up having a thirteen meter long body with several poisonous claws hidden somewhere behind the seemingly regular pony form.

That, or he'd end up proving to be some kind of witch that were limited to that form without his magic. She'd seen magic stones like this a lot of times out in the world, and almost always, they were used by some pretty horrible beings with varied results, ranging from just a mass influx of dark power, to physical mutations as whatever they drew upon were too much for their natural form to contain. This room certainly looked like it were meant with a witch in mind, so that might well be the state of Panic, though it might also be here to keep him locked down...

Hopefully it would be the former, as that might actually prove the best case scenario in all of this, as he'd be unable to do much against Null and her. Well, he could collapse the roof on them... Seemed likely really, but again, not like she had a choice in the matter of letting him out.

"I-I don't like this more than you S-Silver, but if we don't do this, w-we'll all be tossed in a cell, or k-killed. Would you p-please do as he asked?

And... D-Don't hurt him, Panic, o-okay? Silver haven't d-done anything w-wrong here."

Void still weren't sure how much free will the robot had, but there had been enough signs now to make her think that he had some kind of sentience at least, and she didn't want him to be hurt. Sure she had done things to others before, but only if it was in self defense, or if there weren't a choice. Silver hadn't done anything but help so far, and wouldn't deserve to be crushed or whatever else Panic might have in mind.

She'd fidget a little in place as things unfolded, but she'd also stand ready to move forward in case Silver seemed to be in a sort of danger that she could help with. Might just postpone the inevitable though, as they were likely all going to die today anyway, but at least she could go down with a bit more of a clean consciousness, and hopefully to a blade or bullet of some kind. She didn't want to be eaten.

Pen could really get moving when she wanted to, though it seemed she wanted Null to keep up as she wasn't getting further away from her. They had gotten as far as the maze before Pen ground to a halt, having noticed the golem trying to navigate the labyrinth below. It seemed to have noticed them too, as it had its face pointed right at them. "Shoot, we'll have to go around it."

Null met the stare of the golem below, and openly growled at it.

"You again."

She hadn't forgotten this particular one, nor what it had almost done to her sister. Seemed like one of the short-sighted kidnappers had removed the feather she had shoved into one of the cracks the panicked Void had made on the creature. Likely ended up killing them all, and good riddance. A shame this one weren't taken down well, but if it got close enough, she would make sure that it weren't gonna get up that easily again. Preferably by shoving a feather so far down its throat that it weren't ever getting it out again. And if it didn't have a throat, she'd go for nearest opening and then again, shove til it couldn't go further.

Breaking eye contact with the golem, Null started to get a move on again, wanting to get moving so she'd have a chance at finding Void soon. Would there be some sort of high tech gadget in the next room that she could use for this sort of thing? Some more screens perhaps?

Of course with their luck, they instead wandered straight into a large toilet area. If she'd had anything to eat or drink since they caused the riot, Null might welcome it, but with nothing in the system, there weren't really anything to exit either, so she didn't care to linger here. Who knew, they might run into toilet goblins if they stayed here for too long. A sarcastic though which were something that she had wished she made up on the spot, yet sadly, those pesky troublemakers were very real, and far were a nuisance at the best of time. Other times they went ballistic and tried to smash you with a toilet seat or drown you, which weren't what she'd call an upgrade.

*urgh* Hopefully they could just get on their way and then get to somewhere or something that could tell them where her sister were. With the strike team or whatever in here, they were under press here.

[Void]

(Tell her I'm sorry.)

The robot approached the object on the table slowly, much slower than when Void had asked her to open the doors. It seemed rather hesitant to obey.

"Indeed, Silver was one of the best scientists this place had. She..."

The voice cut out once the robot got close enough to be able to touch the object, which began to glow. A white rectangle appearing on the upper portion that was quickly replaced by a nightmarish figure.

The robot tried to take a step back, but it's hooves didn't move. The robot was suddenly still, and remained that way until the object stopped glowing. Then it lifted a hoof, seeming to admire it before ever so gently folding the upper portion of the object down onto the lower portion, where it closed with a click.

It's head turned slowly towards her, the face that had previously attempted to show emotion now locked in an uncanny expression devoid of emotion. The eyes had a different glow to them as they seemed to stare right into her soul.

A shudder ran through the full body of the robot, then a hatch opened up in it's chest to reveal a glowing diamond held within, which it removed rather forcibly before tossing it aside. t bounced, unharmed across the room till it landed near Void's hooves.

"And with that, your usefulness to me has ended." The robot spoke with Panic's voice as it moved for the exit. "I won't kill you, because 900 asked me not to. When you see him again, tell him I appreciate having been lent his puppet."

The robot took off running with surprising speed into the facility.

Another voice, feminine this time spoke over the speakers. "Facility PA system acquired, P-079 has breached containment. P-079 has combined with a previously Thaumiel object. Reclassifying as S-079, hostile intentions."

[Null]

Pen looked distraught, "Oh no." Her pace redoubled, practically flying down the hallways as fast as the doors would let her.

They passed a conference room, a medical bay, another conference room across from an office assigned to a Dir. B, before running a blind corner through a series of smoke jets that would strongly irritate any organic creature's eyes. Finally Pen skid to a stop before bounding up some stairs to an office labelled Dr. C. Head of Research. Where she swiped her card, ran in, grabbed a red card, then ran back out to meet Null again. "He's out, and it won't be long before he takes this whole thing down. He's gonna go after Codex, then Omega. We have to get there first."
