answered Allowance of linking to Derpibooru?

Hi!

The topic goes to deviantart to a lesser degree as well.

As far as I am aware of, it is of no issue to linking to direct DB images as long as they are safe, with suggestive allowed in fanclubs in a spoiler (are they allowed outside of FCs?). Questionable and explicit aren't allowed, obviously.

But what actually about linking to the website itself, or to an image page (not direct image link itself)?

The sites DOES include forbidden material here, but one could argue users wouldn't see them unless they opted in to them. On the flip side, it can be argued images might not be tagged correctly always.

So what is MLPF's stance on linking to it?

Bas... it should be pretty obvious. If there page has anything explicit or against the rules, it should not be linked here period. Suggestive and Safe images are allowed, just don't try to push the limits.

This is handled in a common sense way. If you link to a page or source that is predominantly explicit then the link will be removed. If you have to dig in someone's DA or DB page and turn on adult filters, then that is different. If call attention to anything NSFW and try and link to it ... well ... of course we will stop that.

Following that sense, even linking to NSFW discord servers (or at least to server with some NSFW channels, to be more precise) would be allowed as the content is hidden by default?

In the end we aren’t going to police that. It’s silly. At the same time if someone posts a link to a server or artist and implies porn is there ... we would remove it. One because it is against the general spirit of the rule ... just as important ... it pretends that people are too stupid to find their own porn, pony or otherwise. I mean, it’s a double edged dumb. One side doesn’t know how to search for porn, and the other acts like people don’t know how to find it? Come on! 

The last part was mostly a joke, but it’s amusing nonetheless.

Most importantly, we are pretty good at figuring out if something was innocent or done trying to subvert a rule which is why I maintain that it’s just common sense and we aren’t going to be sending the high and mighty brigade after users over this. 

Thats why we aren’t ever going to itemize everything like we did before. 

Besides people have been posting DA and derpibooru links from go. Never been an issue.

So it comes down whether pr0n is presented right into their face (and maybe whether they need to opt-in for it or not?) and whether it is advised for that thing ("find hot single mares in your area") or for something else?

@Sparklefan1234 alone has done that hundreds of times. He posts the image and posts the link. That’s just one user. Anyway we are on the same page. Generally don’t post porn or direct people to porn. Don’t post links to sites and blogs that that are porn themed. Not much more to it. Not going to drill down to more granularity than that because we simply refuse to do that with any rule period.
