The movie compared to a Disney movie.

How would you say the movie compares to Disney movies? What movies is it better than?

It's doesn't compare all that favorably to many, but I would say it's better than some like Aristocats, Lady & The Tramp, The Black Cauldron, and others. Of course I'm really only considering the main Disney canon here; not the many direct-to-DVD/VHS sequels.

I think the MLP movie is better than tons of Disney movies! I'm biased though.

This was certainly no Disney movie; not even close but I would still rather watch it than some older Disney films.

I consider better then Disney movie from 2000 to 2018  and some of the old ones

If it was a Disney movie then I think ponies would have been singing even more than they are now. The movie probably also jumped to PG-13 levels of how many dirty jokes they can cram into it while still being a kid friendly movie.

It beats out much of the 70s and 80s dark age filler and a good chunk of 00s fare. But 90's Disney? The past decade? Not even close. 

While I'm not the biggest Disney fan, I was also underwhelmed with the MLP movie. I'd even say Rainbow Rocks is the better film in the franchise.
