How many cars have you and your family owned over the years?

As far as I can remember we've had a total of 8.

  • A van (stolen)
  • A second car that I can't remember. I know it existed cause we had to get places.
  • A '94 Blazer (donated to fire department)
  • A '01 Kia Rio (scrapped)
  • A '07 mini-van (scrapped)
  • A '01 Chevy Silverado (scrapped)
  • A '15 mini-SUV
  • A '02 Ford Mustang

Now it's your turn.

Uhm... Only counting cars I've actually owned... (pull in my family, and things get weird)

1. My first car was a 1986 Suzuki Samurai. Totaled when a guy in a Oldsmobile ran into the back of it when it was parked, and took it several blocks balanced on his hood. Tore the rear axle right off.

2. 1989 Honda Accord. Threw a rod on the highway one day.

3. 1995 Honda CRV. Moved across country to Victoria B.C., where I didn't really need a car of my own. Driving anywhere meant taking the ferry anyway, so why bother? I just rented on the other side of the ferry the few times I went to the mainland.

4. 1997 Honda CRV. - Might no count. This was a lease, once I moved out of Victoria B.C. to Washington State. Proved to me that a leased car wasn't really a good idea for my situation. Might work for other people, just not me. The leasing company threw a fit at me because I crossed the border in 'their' car too often, so I cancelled the lease.

5. 1999 Honda Insight. - Got to the point the battery pack needed to be replaced. Would have cost more than replacing the car entirely, so we did that.

7. 2003 Dodge Ram 3500 - Farm truck, still running.

6. 2009 Nissan Rogue - Main vehicle, still running.

Mostly Hondas because once you've got a Honda because like most car makes, you usually get the best trade-in value when replacing it with the same make. Especially since I'm usually replacing my car when I *have* to for one reason or another.

Coming from a car family, I really don't know how many we've owned. All I know for sure is that we never wrecked any of our cars in my lifetime. Most of the cars we owned we sold.

These are the cars that my family currently owns:

1995 Toyota Tacoma

Late '90's Early 00's Subaru Forester

2000 Toyota Camry

Black Pontiac Sunbird (My mom’s first car)

Black 1985 Ford Escort (My dad’s first car)

Late 90s/early 2000s green Ford Escort (The first car I remember my family owning.)

2005 blue Dodge Grand Caravan (Which is currently sitting in our driveway unable to be driven, we plan on junking it as soon as we possibly can.)

2005 silver Dodge Caravan (My parents current vehicle, runs like it's brand new....most of the time. Was originally my grandmother's minivan.)

And that's it. I plan on getting a pickup truck for my first vehicle sometime next year. :mlp_yeehaa:

My dad has had a couple of VolksWagens (I live in a Scottish city, so there's not much need for a car anyway... cars are only really needed outside of the city)

My mum is wanting to start her lessons again,
I want to start my driving lessons when I can (and also I want to live outside of the city anyway so...).

And most of my family on my dad's side needs a car, and so has atleast 1

As for myself, I'm yet to have a car. I was going to get a white 1992 Ford Ranger pickup, but my dad didn't even try to fix it and blamed me...

As for the rest of my family, TOO MANY TO COUNT. My dad and especially my uncle are pretty serious gearheads, so they've kind of hoarded mostly non-functional vehicles...

Red Nissan Skyline R31

White Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 1998

Silver Toyota Rav4 2001

White Toyota Land Cruiser 2013

Dark blue Toyota Corolla 2018 Hatchback

So yeah, quite a lot of Toyotas. :muffins:

My parents had a '77 Chevy Vega, which my grandpa bought new and handed down. They drove that until the mid '90s. Then they got a BMW convertible, but I don't know the year, followed by a Mercury van and now an '08 Aveo.

My first car was a 91' Geo Metro, then I briefly had a Dodge Caravan, a Ford Aerostar and an '01 Jeep Cherokee Sport. I now drive an '09 Smart Fortwo Passion Cabriolet.

Currently, my parents and I own four vehicles. Before that, we owned at least seven, as my siblings still lived at home along with their significant others. We had to extend our driveway!

Um... Let me think...

My mom and dad both had their own before they got married. I don't know if there were others. Then somewhere down the line they got a Sable (which was the first car I remember. It was blue.) Then later on (in the late 90s?) we got a Ford van which was a complete and utter disaster. It had no air-conditioning and I remember one time my family drove all of the way down to San Antonio in the heat of the summer in that AC-less van. It was pure Hell. Also - I don't remember when exactly - we got an ancient Honda Accord from sometime in the 80s (most likely before I was even born lol). It was old, and I don't think it had air-conditioning either. *sigh* When I was in eighth grade, things began getting better. My mom got a 1998 Honda Accord which had air-conditioning and even thought it wasn't new (this was in 2002), it felt like a complete luxury! This car was supposed to become mine when I learned how to drive. Sad story. In my senior year of high school, they also bought a Toyota Tundra truck. It was nice. Six years ago, my mom upgraded from the Honda Accord 1998 (which now had issues) to a new Honda Accord. I think a 2013 one, but I don't know. I'm not a car person. Then my dad ended up with a nice...the brand leaves my mind. Again, NOT a car person. Last year that car got traded in for an SUV type car from the same brand which replaced both the truck and car that was traded in (both were traded in, I think).

That's where we are at now. Sorry for the lack of paragraphs. I couldn't find a place to put a paragraph there and it's not like anything I said was interesting and will actually be read, so, no one will even care about a block of text that won't be read. =P

Hmm, when I was a little kid we had an old gray Honda van. When I was a bit older we replaced it with a light blue Honda van. I don’t remember the years/models of the cars...

My dad worked for the state and was given a fancy car to drive to work. I wasn’t allowed to ride in it :(

Then we got a blue 2007 Toyota Prius and that was our main car for awhile. I liked it, nice and quiet and efficient too.

I don’t need to drive anymore and hopefully don’t plan to but if I did need to get another car, I would probably want a cute little Smartcar :D
