Cosmos already bothers me

This is the sypnosis for the comic Cosmos is said to appear in: "My Little Pony celebrates 75 issues of friendship and fun with this double-sized adventure! When a chance purchase leads to a legendary quest for a missing constellation, the ponies reach for the stars and find themselves in the path of their most galactic villain yet... the chaotic Cosmos!"

 This bothers me for one main reason - cosmos is the universe. Cosmos comes from the Greek word for “order” and thus the very creation is reflective of God’s attributes in its ordering. Using the word cosmos rather than the word universe implies viewing the universe as a complex and orderly system or entity; the opposite of chaos

Yet that isn't what IDW is pitching with this guy's name...

It's probably just a space name they came up with on the fly to make it sound cool. Words evolve over time, while Cosmos originally meant that, it's just a word for space that is sometimes used to refer to the universe in some contexts in today's language.

No one complained about Cosmo from The Fairly OddParents having the name he had, despite him having nothing to do with the galaxy. With Cosmos, the name does make sense from the synopsis. When the average person thinks, "universe", the first thing that comes to their mind is the stars and the galaxy. Also, if he's a chaotic villain with the power to bend reality itself, that means he has the power to bend the laws of guess what? The universe.

Cosmo was completely a joke/stupid character. He was to be the dumbest one to get the most laughs. So it was more irony on that part.
