Well before touch sensitive items like electronics you should make sure that you are discharged.

I once had a car that would occasionally electrocute me when I touched the door handle because of static, and it was annoying.

Working in a paper factory sucks with static. There's one certain table that if you rub paper on it, you'll see a bolt off your finger if you touch the metal sides. Actually makes a noise if you rub the table enough.
