What would be your ideas for a Pinocchio adaptation?

If you made your take on Pinocchio, what would happen in it? Personally, I'd have the Coachman die at the end.

Modern era.  Autistic middle-aged cyber-genius finally builds an AI that responds like a "real boy", complete with robotic body.  Names him after one of his favorite technologies as a kid; now known as 'PIN.Nokio' (Positronic Intelligent Network).  The mainframe that helped create him is nicknamed 'The Blue Angel', due to its' shell casing color; system says that Nokio's neuro-patterns could POSSIBLY have means for transference to a flesh-and-blood brain, but only as long as Nokio's 'thought patterns' fall within the accepted ratio of a normal human - or, put another way, if he behaves himself, he could one day become a REAL boy.

Nokio enjoys his new 'life', but has issues relating to morality - enter snide teenage hacker w/a heart o' gold (and not long left to live, via some esoteric disease); goes by Crikkit (real name Jim Menni).  Tries to teach Nokio right from wrong, but Nokio doesn't like it & ejects his presence.  Crikkit tries to reconnect a few times, but ultimately ends up passing away.

Nokio goes on to discover the wonders (and horrors) of the real world, all the while trying his best to act & think like a 'real boy', but fails again & again - swindled by scam artists, kidnapped by a greedy YouTuber & made to perform online, and runs off to 'The Free Zone' arcade & funhouse, where he and the others are slowly integrated into a terrifying system of control & obedience.

Finally, he tries to return home, but discovers his father has gone to look for him... and fallen victim to a local military, who has him locked in a gulag nicknamed 'El Monstro'.  Nokio finds his father, and they endeavor to escape.  It's harrowing, but they survive... barely.

Returning home, Nokio then takes on the mantle of caring for his father (who was crippled by his time in 'El Monstro') and working hard to be a good son... and he uses The Blue Fairy to come up with a cyber-replacement for his father's lame legs, helping him to walk again.  The programming of such, however, breaks through a complication in the calculations needed to make Nokio into a REAL boy, and with the new program (and the body of a recently deceased teen named Jim Menni) are FINALLY put together to make Nokio into a REAL boy.
