Ikari Kitsu ran through the bustling docks of Baltimare, turning his head inside out trying soak everything in. In the distance was the silhouette of a large ship, scheduled to leave just ten minutes from them. If Ikari didn't hurry, he would miss the departure. Luckily, he travels light. The only luggage he had was a small brown saddlebag filled with bits and other useful assorted items.

Ikari reached the ship with plenty of time to spare. He then adjusted the red and white bandanna around his head, and stepped on board.

--Or at least he tried... His hoof had magically taken a turn too far to the right and he fell off the dock and into the icy water.

Granite Rose breathed in, smelling the salty air surrounding the ship. Slowly, he walked up to the ship, imagining all the wonderful flowers he would soon discover. Granite read about lots of exotic flowers before, but he never got the chance to see any in pony before. He was hoping to take a few home so he could learn how to grow them in a different setting. If he could do that, he’d be able to have enough money to buy a bit more land for his garden.

Suddenly, he heard a loud splash near the docks. Instinctively, Granite rushed over to see what was going on.

Night Glider landed at the docks taking all the scenery around him, as a small smile came upon his face, and he just stood there for a moment only to enjoy the lively view around himself.

Inwardly, he was so glad that he made this decision, and he could already tell this was going to be a enjoyable experience. However, soon his thoughts were interrupted by a sudden sound of splash and he looked into that direction with concern.

Trotting along the port of Baltimare, Midnight Solace had finally arrived. It was larger than he had imagined, as the cruise ship cast a huge shadow across the docks. He couldn't wait to check out what the view was like from the weather deck.

Checking that he hadn't lost anything in his saddlebag for the 4th time, Midnight slowly approached towards the ship. The docks were very busy at this part of the port, so Midnight started to take caution of his surroundings. He was afraid of bumping into somepony, causing embarrassment for him --and at the same time, was too anxious to look where he was going, fearing that he would make eye contact with another pony.

The unexpected and loud splash of water startled Midnight. He turned around in the direction of the splash and looked up to see what had happened.

  • 2 weeks later...

Spiral Wedge walked out to the dock, sketching a few figures into a notebook using her magic. She was heading to a faraway land to gather stories, as she was assigned to do. She had no idea why she was chosen. She was a sculptor, not an author. But, alas, it was an assignment from royalty. It had to be important.

She was finishing a sketch. It was of a Manticore, as always, with a gull perched on its paw. A few small, insignificant sketches were on the sides.

She heard a splash, and she turned her head towards the noise. She ran over to where it was coming from, her magic still lifting her notebook.
