gaming EA Experiences Worst Stock Drop in Two Decades

EA: "Don't like it, don't buy it! :eww:

Everyone else: "...Okay! :mlp_icwudt:"

Yup, Battlefield V flopping has really done a number on the company, proving that making an enemy out of the customer is the worst thing you can do as a business.

All while Activision continues to make billions. It is cool that one greedy corporation of trash is losing money, but the gaming community is mostly made up of hypocrites so companies like Activision walk away free. I have no hope in gaming at this point.

This won't do much.

No, profits won't be as high for EA, but they're still making a massive fortune, even if that fortune isn't good enough.

They're gonna be in business for a good long time because die hard gamers are a niche and the casual gamer isn't bothered by these sorts of things. Kinda why FIFA is still EA's golden goose.

If anything, this'll make things worse, as EA are sighting 'too much focus on single player' as the reason for the underperformences.

It’s about time consumers staet pushing back against EA and their BS business practices. I can only hope this means Disney will terminate the licensing deal it has with EA and allow other gaming companies to put out much better games that don’t rely on pay-to-win policies.

Hilarious watching everyone celebrate about EA's falling stocks and then immediately everyone flocks to Apex Legends, most likely eliminating all of those losses in the long run. Apex Legends had over 10 million players in less than a week. The gaming community is hilariously hypocritical. Celebrate a company's failure, then conform to yet another pointless Battle Royale game from the same company. It is fun to watch at this point.

The thing is that Apex Legends is going the same route as Fortnite.  A free-to-play game with people paying for cosmetics, icons, and banners that grant absolutely no competitive advantage in real time battle.

Well, if you wanna be really cynical, nothing really matters in the end, because even if the companies crash, the people responsible for all the garbage are going to walk away with enough money to live like kings for several lifetimes. It's only the employees, game designers and what not that are ever going to feel the negative effects of this in any meaningful way.

But in the meantime, I'm gonna stay here and keep sticking pins in my EA voodoo doll.

And that seems to be the key to making people turn into drones en masse and flock to your game. Just copy Fortnite, make your game Battle Royale, make the game free to play and profit immensely off of microtransactions and whatever else they come up with. Passes most likely will be introduced at some point and people will buy it all by the millions.

Yet the gaming community thinks these companies care about what they have to say while they do this shit. The corporations clearly know how to play people like the puppets they are.

It's mostly because the companies produce new games, and people will indeed flock to said games.  Don't worry, though, because I think a revolution is going to absolutely crush that evil mindset.

More proof that Activision is actually not doing that well.

They reported making good money last year, but it's not black-and-white. Activision is notorious for making low production effort games on a low budget, so it's not surprising that they made a good profit in 2018 while still describing it as a rough year. Their stock value is pitiful, so they had to restructure to please their investors and bring it back up. Regardless of the company's inner workings, I know a company I'm never buying a product from again. :fluttershy:

  • 1 year later...

And once again they smashed through the bottom with the new Madden. They knew that Madden is a pretty niche thing, so they could at least not forget to change the year on some billboard texture. But here we are, 0.2 on metacritic, lower than Warcraft reforged
