The many ponies we'll never see in toy form

Needless to say, Hasbro really failed with the diversity thing for the toyline. And because f the constant Mane 6 pushing, there are a TON of ponies and creatures that we'll never get to see as a toy (brushable/ collectable, ect. in FM. How do you guys feel about this?

I don't really have a problem with it. They know which ones see and stick with that.

From a marketing perspective, the Mane Six and secondary characters for the most part are seen as guaranteed sales.

You'd be surprised. In any case, the cartoon and other media forms contribute to this.

Indeed, prior generations had animated adaptations which mostly featured different characters. G1 had only the Williams as recurring characters, and G3 split protagonism between different ponies, not to mention they were more self-contained.
