With this premiere we've begun the final journey to this much beloved TV series with season 8. For those who watch the show, what were some of your favorite moments this episode? What do you look forward to seeing in the future? Is there hope for Westeros and the rest of humanity, or will this be their final winter? Share thoughts and theories below!

Really? Not a single person has responded yet? Damn...

Anyway, I'm fairly sure that another one of Daenerys's dragons will be killed, bringing them down to just one to take on the entire white walker army plus two dragons. I think that Cersei will end up being killed by Jaime or Tyrion, considering how she had been manipulating both of them throughout the entire series, but that's just wishful thinking. Feel like they really underused Gendry, considering he's Robert Baratheon's bastard, but I'm glad that he's becoming a more central character in the last season. He and the Hound are probably my favourite characters, and I do hope they both survive until the end.

Maybe with the maturity of the show people take it's conversation elsewhere, I expected something though before episode two :laugh:

I don't think Tyrion is likely to kill her since it's not in his nature, as Bronn said back when Jaime asked him if he thought he had killed Joffrey. And with Bronn on his way North for at least one more reunification, we can at the very least say Tyrion won't be killed off for a bit longer, unless they just want a scene with Podrick but that'd be really underwhelming. I feel you with Gendry, but considering he's never been a serious pick for the Iron Throne and doesn't aspire to take it he's better suited to making his suits of armor. Funny watching him forge dragon glass when so many videos about doing just that came out a few months and weeks before this season proving it's extremely difficult in a modern setting.

I wonder if you made a suit of the stuff if you'd be protected from the army of the dead? We've seen Valerian Steel go up against a White Walker blade but I don't know how dragon glass fairs in that situation, and could whites break through it with force alone or would you essentially be untouchable? Assuming you could walk in that, but the could always overwhelm with their own weight and just pile on till you can't breath or even drag you to some water.

I'm unsure about the hound at this point. I want to see him finish the fight with his brother once and for all, but for all intents and purposes, the OG Cleganes seem to be dead, having found new purpose through life and death.

I was rather surprised by how slow and awkward the first half was. The dialogue felt forced and filler like for the most part. One of the best and worst bits simultaneously in it was Arya showing off to Gendry her skills by throwing the tree dragon glass points. I liked that with the slight flirtation but the coordination between her arm movement and the points hitting their mark seemed sloppy at best. It really is nitpicky for such a small scene but with the amount of time they put into making this show and the fact they have the best animated dragons ever made so far, makes it stand out like a sore thumb. Luckily You can move on to more important details pretty quickly and the second half for sure had a much better feel to it, more than made up for with so many beloved characters getting together in the great hall,,, potentially for the last time :sealed:

I had confidence in Winterfell's fortifications up until this map came into view, and remembered that Harrenhal could stand against an army a million strong but was melted down by dragons. The Night King might only have the one dragon but if he can get through it might be all he needs. :crackle:

Episode 2 Spoiler and other commentary within:

Spoiler

Gotta love Tormund and his giant's milk. The looks everyone was giving him cracked me up. :mlp_laugh:

In regards to Cercei. The most shocking death I can think of for her would be death by unborn wight walker baby. Also, I have to wonder what would be stopping the Night King from flying someplace like King's Landing, causing a massacre there before immediately raising the dead like he did at Hardhome, while his army assaults Winterfell. If not King's Landing then perhaps other places. It would give Cercei's army their own taste of horror while Winterfell deals with theirs.

There's also been something on my mind about the whole business of the Prince that was promised. What if it's not a hero at all but a baby? The Night King turned the babies that came from Crastors Keep. What if the Night King is actually after a child a "prince". And the whole business of the Lord of Light and the prophecies were merely tapping into the abilities of the Three Eyed Raven and information getting crossed and misinterpreted. Dunno. Just a random theory that's played on my mind. :-P

Now with only 2 episodes left until the series is done... I gotta say this.

I think this may be one of the weakest seasons of the entire show.

Spoiler

The Night King's death was extremely anticlimactic in my opinion, I thought that we'd get at least some answers as to why he had this connection to Bran, or at least have some kind of answers to what he and his army of wights were trying to accomplish. I just feel like the 8 years of build-up we had for this guy was ultimately flushed down the toilet, like it or not, the white walkers were always set up to be the main threat/antagonists for the series, and yet Walder Frey was a more effective antagonist.

Don't get me wrong, the spectacle of episode 3 was definitely brilliant... Even though you could barely see what was going on. :adorkable:

Episode 4 I felt was slightly better than 3 overall, but there was one thing that pissed me off to no end...

Spoiler

Jon not even saying Goodbye to Ghost. :glimmer::blink:
