I really like the idea of this episode. I like the idea of a heist episode and I like how the show is able to make a heist story fit naturally with these characters. And the episode is entertaining. I wasn't bored and I was having fun watching the situation play out. The issue is that I feel like the episode should've gone further. Most of the jokes aren't great (because a lot of them are just meme faces) and the emotional core is underdeveloped. All the stuff with Spike isn't brought up very often leading to it being a lot less impactful in the end. And no. The flashback in the beginning doesn't count because it didn't show Spike being left out that much. He was enjoying himself and Twilight and Shining Armor didn't completely ignore him.

I think this episode should've fully committed one way or the other. Either fill up the episode with crazy and fun jokes and go all out or fully develop the emotional core and make it a really impactful episode. As is, it tries to do both and neither are very impactful. Both are done fine, but neither are done really well. I honestly prefer the 100th episode because it was more focused.

Score: 7/10

I already stated that I love this episode, but my main problem in this episode, and quiet frankly a big problem since the ending of season 8 is twilight freak outs, they even made 2 names for it, it feels like it became her main trait:mellow:...  The ending was of course the best part of the episode hands down, I loved how spike was portrayed and luna's role and that pose she struch with the geese.

I couldn't vote in the poll because I only have an answer for one of the questions. Rating out of 5: 1. Best expression: don't remember (and I'm not rewatching). Favorite aspect: none.

Episode 199 trying to be number 200. I went into this one with (moderately) high hopes, only for every one of them to be dashed. First, does Luna seriously take the defense of the castle so lightly that she'd happily throw it away over some petty argument? How little will it take before she turns to full blown treason out of spite?

And Spike is in no way Twilight and Shining's brother. If they want to make him related in any way it'd be more like Twilight's son, she raised him after all. Honestly, he's farther from being her brother than he is from being her pet.

I don't even want to touch the rest of this episode atrocity.

I thought it was a really fun episode. I loved Rarity grabbing the chance to dress Rainbow up all pretty. (Rainbow Dash always dresses in style!) Best of all, they finally acknowledged Spike as Twilight's and Shining Armor's little brother. I like that a lot! Pinkie wanting to take her balloon into space made me laugh out loud!

10/23/2019, and I finally watched the first four episodes of season nine!

I love this episode. It was not only heartwarming but it had Maud in it too hehe. The rock specialist. The whole planning was really nice as well as scenes from Twilight's youth. Spike getting the crown at the end was satisfying for the way he felt. Nice expressions as always.

Spike's plan was simply amazing and it makes sense he'd come up with it he plays a game that requires that kind of scenario planing and he's the Dungeon master too. But I also really, REALLY love that this episode FINALLY gave us some genuine one on one interaction between Spike and Futtershy. This would be followed up more in Sweet and Smokey but words can't express how happy I was when we got to that scene with them this episode. The reaction she had when they first met made it seem like that friendship was practically gift wrapped for the writers and yet it took 8 SEASONS to finally have more stuff together.

Even though i still dont quite get the importance of winning the crown and call all your friends and the two literal leaders of Equestria to take part in a sibling rivalry, but...okay?

It was still a fun Episode and i enjoyed Lunas role in it.

However, Applejack lied. Again. Probably. I really dont get why she is called the Element of Honesty when she has lied multiple times in the show. I imagine it would be funnier if we would have a character that literally cant lie and is always honest even if she shouldnt be. I think that would make for a more interesting character.

The crown didn't really matter. It was all about who was "Best" sibling!

The Spike is considered a sibling now part was touching and all that, even though i saw Spike more of a adoptive son of Twilight and not Brother, but i still dont get how a sibling rivalry is a royal concern? That seemed kinda odd.

I like myself a good heist plot, Danny Ocean style. Spike double crossing everyone with Luna was a great reversal, if a bit predictable. I think it's my second favorite episode of S9.
