Damn. First Carrie before The Last Jedi, and now Peter before Rise of the Skywalker. 

At least he lived a long life, and had a memorable career. He touched the hearts and minds of millions the world over. 

May his legacy live on. 

Also, I had no idea he was that tall. 

Dude is gonna be remembered like Andre the Giant. I wonder if they ever met.

Peter Mayhew was a gentle giant and a good soul. He brought so much personality to Chewbacca just by inflections of body movement, and was a good friend to the cast and crew of Star Wars. He had problems with his knees for a long time but was always there for the fans and genuinely cared about the character he played. He was Han Solo’s partner, but in a way he was everyone’s wingman.

Love to you forever, Peter. You’ll be dearly missed.
