EG girls may be ending soon as well. DHX no longer working on it

It appears EG won’t be around long after FIM itself ends. It has been confirmed that DHX wrapped-up it’s last work on the project

it is unknown how many unaired projects are still left, and know Teo at least are coming from the leaks. But unless Boulder Media continues it (not far fetched, considering they have worked on it previously), seems EG is next on the line of goodbyes

My prediction is they're probably moving the production over to Boulder media studios as that also made Equestria Girls shorts and Hasbro is keeping the information to themselves until they announce it.

Tara Strong did say there'll be more Equestria Girls specials on the way according to this tweet:

Although I really do still enjoy the Equestria Girls specials, I completely understand why the series is either wrapping up or being given over to a different team. It is a spin-off based on Friendship is Magic's world after all. I also love seeing official confirmation of this and G5 having a new cast at the same time, it's been an interesting morning.

Yes indeed. No announcement of EG ending has been done yet. Not even the leaks even suggested it. I do know two of already released books will get an adaptation. Not by official announcement either, but by leaked assets, put two and two together, and it matches. 

EG continuing by Boulder Media is very well within possibilities, or it wouldn’t make sense to hire them in making some largely inconsequential plot-wise shorts taking place during the first EG. It’s likely they were done to test waters, and we got this Scootie  the Cutie

Yeah, the way they did the animation was quite stunning and more fluid than the DHX versions.

I guess that Hasbro has had enough of all the leaks posted on the Internet so they found an alternative to hide the upcoming information from others. It's like putting a password lock on your diary so that no-one else can read it. Because let's be honest, leaks can be real party-poopers now and again.

It was expected that this was going to end up being the case. After all, we're on the final season of Friendship is Magic, and Equestria Girls is essentially tied to its pony counterpart at the hips without a means of existing on its own feet. Am I disappointed? Yes, but then these things happen. It's best not to mope about it and simply accept things for what they are even if it doesn't feel all that good.

That tweet is from over a month ago and DHX is just wrapping up production, so that could be referring to some of what they did before wrapping things up. I know the leaks didn't say anything about Equestria Girls ending, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not happening.

That’s a shame but expected. While I preferred the main show, I much preferred the characters in Equestria Girls more, especially Rainbow and Fluttershy. Then there’s characters like Sunset and Lemon Zest that are equally as awesome.

Didn't expect this coming (read the news before I went to sleep), but wow, we're seeing the G4 we know and love truly come to an end. I am looking forward to what Boulder Media has for the upcoming special they made.

Oh yeah, that would suck. There’s no indication EG is leading to it, and instead of an actual ending, we get a mundane one. It would be spectacular if we could end with her meeting her human self’s parents as....
