Today the Baseball world mourns a terrible loss. Bill Buckner, who was the NL Batting champion in 1980 with the Chicago Cubs has passed away from struggling with Dementia.

Buckner played 22 seasons in the big leagues. His best year was undoubtedly 1980 as mentioned earlier. Buckner accumulated 2715 hits, 174 home runs, and 1208 Runs Batted In.

Spoilered here is the moment in Buckner’s career that he is most remembered for. A fair warning for Boston Red Sox fans, it may be too painful to watch.
