Title: Griffon the Brush Off
Air Date: November 12, 2010
Synopsis: Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash pal around playing pranks on the other ponies, but when Dash's old friend Gilda the Griffon shows up, Pinkie Pie suddenly becomes a third wheel.

I'm watching it on tv right now and I just realized something. First of all, the cart that Gilda stole the apple from didn't have any apples if you looked at it afterwards. Second of all, Pinkie Pie said nobody twice. I also realized that I over-analyze way too much.

Also Spike wanted to blow out the candles. He's a dragon. Dragon. Blowing. Fire. Out. Edited by DashForever

Just rewatched this one for the first time. Not really my favorite.

Gilda over-uses outdated slang terms way too much. She's very stereotypical.

I think this ep. is pandering to the younger audience more than any other episode I can remember.

I´d say it´s my favourite episode on season 1 (at least form ones I can remember). I´m always shifting whether Pinkie Pie is annoying or hilarious, the line is really thin. This episode leaned her towards the latter.

Also for once, it had a twist I didn´t see coming from the start.

Gilda is annoying, and poor Fluttershy! I've always liked her, sucks to see her cry like that.

Exactly, poor Fluttershy! I really didn't see the plot twist coming (maybe I should have). But the fact Dashie did all the pranks... I didn't expect that.Gilda was really funny, I also loved Pinkie in this episode-flying machine and stuff like that. She's just SO RANDOM! Yeah, btw: PonyInTheFedora: CloudChaser is "she".

Son of Celestia! Thanks for that on CloudChaser!

Yeah I do like Pinkie in that episode.

One of my favorite episodes to be sure. One of the best things about the older season 1 episodes is how they brought the characters together. This episode, the primary focus was on establishing Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie's friendship and propensity for pulling pranks, which is seen throughout the rest of the series from there-on out.

Gilda was a great antogonist, because she was very realistic (out-dated slang). I think many people can relate to having a friend like Gilda at some point, who didn't get along well with the rest of your friends, and wasn't altogether that good of an influence. Sometimes, all you can do is distance yourself from that person, even though it may be hard for you.

I'd love to see Gilda return in the series, even moreso than Trixie. I want to see what would happen if Rainbow Dash and Gilda met again. Would Gilda see the error of her ways? Would the two be able to mend their broken friendship? Well it is a children's show, so hopefully they would. Someone like Gilda, for all her faults, needs a friend who can keep her in line. But first she needs to be willing to give change a chance.

Also, her character design is just flipping awesome. By far the most interesting non-pony creature to have ever appeared on the show.

I sure as sugar disliked Gilda, she was rude to everypony except Rainbow Dash and made Fluttershy cry. And she had really weird slang haha,. "You're, you're a flip-flop, cool one minute, lame the next!"

Ah, Gilda, where to start. Ya know, I tried to love and tolerate her for part of the episode, I really did, much like Pinkie tried. Then this happened:

After that, and trust me, I try to be a calm and reasonable pony, but I'm sorry, this is all I could think about Gilda for the rest of the episode:

Thankfully, Gilda got what was coming to her, Pinkie Pie style!!! Posted Image

Also, this was the first episode where I started to notice that, well, the laws of physics don't exactly apply to Pinkie Pie. Understatement of the century!!!!! Posted Image

This was a good episode to show that their world had all kinds of mythical creators in it. This episode also showed the 5 main characters weren't that close of friends tell Twilight came to town. Pinkie Pie was very funny in this episode. For some odd reason I have not watched this episode that many times.

I just finished watching this episode a while ago, Griffon was really mean to Pinkie Pie!

My favorite part was at the party when Pinkie Pie said " And I...Got my eye on you! " that was hilarious how she said it and what her eyes were doing, priceless!

Twist? you mean Rainbow Dash, supposedly Gilda's best friend, dumping her faster than thee pony she has been being a total jerk to all episode.

To be honest... I kinda liked Gilda, until she made Fluttershy cry.......

And Rainbow Dash has never made Fluttershy cry?

I mean Rainbow Dash is kinda mischievious, but eve she knows when she's gone too far and has hurt someone's feelings.....

Did you watch this episode. Pinkie Pie has to stop Dash from pranking Fluttershy and Dash is the one that take pulls all(you have to ask the writers how Dash got the hoof-shake buzzer on Pinkie) the pranks at the part.

It was obvious Gilda had to much with the peppered Lemon-drops but the Dash did the Dribble glass and then the  Spittin' snakes

I feel the same way about Dash

a great big ginormous super-duper spectacular welcome party to turn that frown upside own.

Only she doesn't because a certain blue pony doesn't know when to quit.

Why do you hate Rainbow dash so much? Gilda was being an ass hole and still was after Pinkie Pie's plan didn't work. All Rainbow dash did was make sure Gilda stopped and she decided to leave on her own. So you know what? Shut up and if anybody tells me love and tolerance, you're not doing it at all, so I'm not either. Also, I don't like that saying anyway. It's like saying I can't have my own opinion and disagree with others. That is all I have to say on the matter.

I liked how they made Gilda's front talons/claws look like gloves, the kind of gloves that someone like Gilda would wear if she were human.

I also liked how they kept changing the music in the first bit of the episode, when Pinkie Pie was chasing Rainbow Dash. Also, Gilda's guitar riff being metaler(Yes, its a word!) than Rainbow Dash's guitar riffs.

Why do you hate Rainbow dash so much?

How to say this so you won't tl;dr it.

Rainbow Dash is only a friend when circumstances are pleasant or profitable. She supports others only when it is easy and convenient to do so; At the first sign of trouble, this capricious, disloyal pony will drop her relationship with her friend.

We are not self-contained, self-regulating units. We are regulated through our healthy interactions with those to whom we feel safe and close. We are social animals; we need one another. As adults, we become depressed and anxious without enough limbic resonance in our lives. As newborns, we may die; if we don't die, we are going to be damaged by this lack.

Let me explain limbic resonance. It refers to the energetic exchange that happens between two people who are interacting in a caring and safe relationship. Their interaction stimulates the release of certain neurochemicals in the limbic region of the brain. These chemicals are necessary for full emotional and physical well-being. Without enough limbic resonance in our lives, over time, we function and feel less and less well. This is why isolation is bad for us.

people start associating- their own personal regulation according to what is externally represented to them as children.
So for instance, if one has a mother that meets their needs, they cry she comes, she comforts them.
That initial dependence in that parent or that caregiver that is teaching them how to coordinate.
Eventually that develops into the brain to teach the child how to coordinate themself  and as time passes and as that is repeated over and over again, that child learns to be secure in limbic resonance.
They learn to feel secure in being vulnerable and making connections. If that's not present in the body then what happens is limbic resonance can actual become a vary frightening thing, being vulnerable can be dangerous and that is exactly what we see happening with Gilda.

Why do I hate Rainbow dash so much? because I know what it is like to require someone's help and have them tell you, "saving you is not worth the effort."

What you're saying about RD isn't true at all, but you know what? This is a fictional character. We do not need this argument.I don't even care at this point. I don't want to argue so I'm not going to. It's pointless to get all angry because of some TV show so just please show at least a little maturity and stop this. Good day to you sir.
