Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries

I just stumbled on the first season DVDs at the library. I checked them out (And ripped them to my computer. Don't tell the feds!) It is such a wonderful and compelling show! Based in the 1920's in Australia, it depicts the adventures of a female private detective. The Honorable (She's titled) Miss Phryne Fisher is my new favorite literary detective. I can't wait to track down and read the novels by Kerry Greenwood. I'm up to episode three (Phryne knows how to pilot a biplane!)

I love the adorable sub plot. Phryne is coxing her maid in her shy interest in a young police constable, while the chief inspector is working on getting his trusted constable to get on the case, as it were, and ask the maid out to the police and fireman's ball. They're so cute together!.
