mega thread Why you chose your user name.

My original name was Rainbow Dust because RD is my favourite character and I love the design of Lighting Dust. I then later changed it to Spectra Dust because it sounded better.

It's my name :P

...well, my name's actually Ceilidh which is the Irish spelling. I just use the spelling "Kayleigh" online as I was sick of people asking me how to pronounce it. It was my dad's bright idea :P

See, it is actually pronounced that way :P

It's the nickname of the A-10 Thunderbolt. I was going to have Thunderbolt, but someone else has that name. I pretty much did it to drive the point after I wrote a blog post where I "came out" as a ground attack/air superiority aircraft.

Not going to use it for too much longer though.

My actual name is pronounced in such a way that everyone says "oh like a pirate?" After 30+ years, I've owned up to it and "pirate" is in all my other screennames....thusly for here; pirate ponified (although I must say I'm tempted to switch my jolly roger avatars with Pi-Rarity, because ♡♡♡)

Most people on another online place knew me as Shadifern or 'Shadi.' Since I wanted a fresh start here, I changed it up a bit. A fern is a plant, and so is a leaf. I like names ending in y for some reason. Putting it together, I got 'leafy.' I decided to spell it with a lowercase l for some reason.

Icy Wind came from me being obsessed with nature and weather names. I decided to use 'wind' and I added an adjective to the beginning. Icy Wind sounded cool to me so I used it.

I wish we were allowed to change usernames...

"Starfall" is a nickname that is rather obscure, but I chose it because it is a reference to my personal unyielding will. I don't give up until the stars fall.

"Quillwaver" is an actual legal title given to me.

Cryatha originated from fusing my name with "someone else" (It's obvious on who it is, but it had the letter "n" at the end. But because I tried to use it for my username in a RPG, the character limit took out that final letter.

Long story short, I quickly grew to love the new name and used it as my username on here.

My username comes from a song called Cosmic Cortex by one of my favorte Metal bands Vektor.

Then I took Cortex and changed it to something similar and related to my passion for the cosmos and sci-fi themes, hence Cosmic V0rtex (with a 0 so it looks like a vortex :P)

I went with Dreambiscuit as a derivation of the user name I had on another pony site. I have a dreamy personality and live in a dream world, hence 'Dream,' and the 'biscuit' part sounded whimsical and squishy, which is also like me.  :proud:

I chose my username because earlier in 9'th grade, we did a reading of Romeo and Juliet, and I got to be Benvolio. Of course, I had to make his voice really scratchy and kind of scary sounding, but it worked out nonetheless. "BennyBoy" just became a nickname for the character that I liked playing as. Same as there was Tyblit the Tablet because someone couldn't pronounce Tybalt's name.

That, and Juliet was never played by a girl. Not once. It was always Gabe who played as Juliet, and another boy in the other class. Also, a dude played Mrs. Capulet as well.

9'th grade English was fun.

First Leafy, as a not so obvious variation of Shadifern.

Icy Wind, because I like weather...

Fire Twii, because Fire Twilight looked cool, and because Twilight is my third favorite pony.

I came with my username because I was tired of using my Fimfiction name as my Internet name, and Kozmos sounds better than TheBronyaroundthecorner :)

I chose mine because I wanted something that would stick out. I took the concept of numbers in names from PON3 and Deadmau5, and then applied them to my existing pen name. Thus "Shabb3r" was born.

I had previously had the alias of BronyNo786, but later decided to change it. Unfortunately DeviantART only allows you to change your username if you are a CORE member  :(

To give it a cool, eye-catching style, I turned it into a logo using Scary Gylphs and Nice Characters (aka Skrillex's font)

I've had this username since I was 16...Emiko was the name of a cat girl my ex friend drew for me...I decided to write a fanfiction about her but thought she needed a surname. I decided on Gale...Because I felt a Japanese name with a Japanese surname would be boring.

Then I decided to use Emiko Gale as my permanent username to make signing up for websites easier.

  • 3 months later...

For the longest time my first original name was Miatapony. Then that name changed to Midnight Glow, a placebo for my OC that never actually came to suffice.

Now it's all for Twilight Sparkle and harmonious music so I've combined the two into Melodic Twilight. I also wanted to keep with the "M" naming convention of my previous names too as a reminder of who I was.

My username is an amalgamation of my first and last name. I decided to include the '13' after having many websites tell me that rcollinz was already taken. Additionally, I changed the 's' in Collins for the same reason.

It's quite a story, really.  I just remember when I was quite young, I loved the name Jason, so I just kinda made that my shtick.  First it was Jason Stilton (for no particular reason other than that mouse guy), then Jason Martin (for no particular reason other than those mischievous suite twins), which I stuck with for a while, and then finally I realized that wasn't very unique and changed it.  I wanted to find something that really represented me as a whole, and I tried Darklight for one minute before somebody suggested Darklyte. So there you go.
