Speaking of insects, has anyone else not had any scorpions spawn in at night?  I've been booting up the game for the past two months at night and never have to worry about scorpions(which sucks because I liked the scorpions).  They never spawn in anymore even after going all over my island for a few hours.  I just never see them anymore, those purple beetles and tiger beetles yeah but never scorpions.

The spawn rate has been lowered due one of the previous updates, but not only that, they won't spawn where there's a lot of flowers and they can spawn on paths as well. Just be careful when trying to get one of them if they hide behind one of your buildings. I tried to get one when both the scorpion and my villager were blocking my way and then i had to do a fake swing on the scorpion, made a run for the store, and failed.

Try going on a mystery tours and see if you can nab some scorpions there.

Well it's not just scorpions, but also some other rare insects such as goliath, horned elephant, horned hercules, scarab beetle, giraffe stag, giant stag, and tarantula.

I've FINALLY figured out my island's randomization seed number (213396815) after WEEKS of struggling with MeteoNook!  I have a light meteor shower on my island tonight, and now MeteoNook is correctly predicting exactly when the meteors will spawn, down to the second!!!

I'm a software developer for a living, so I can explain what a randomization seed number is some other time; I'm a bit too tired to do so right now---the point is:  METEORS!!!

 

They're going to appear again at the following times, all of which are USA Eastern Daylight Savings Time:

11:01pm, 11:14pm, 11:27pm, 11:41pm

12:05am, 12:32am, 12:43am, 12:59am

1:49am, 1:57am

2:12am, 2:36am, 2:39am, 2:52am

3:12am, 3:21am, 3:48am, 3:50am

 

The dodo code is 2HGVS.  My Switch friend code is 3161-5667-6320.

My gate is open and will stay that way all night!  I'm going to bed, though---got an important day at work to wake up for!

I don't get it. Wouldn't wishing on a falling Star on somebody else's Island not count towards star fragments appearing on your own Island?

 

EDIT: NVM. I visited your Island using the code and wow! The stars did start falling at the exact times you said so. apparently if I make the wish the Stars will appear on my Island tomorrow morning.

 

Plus I saw your house and it's amazing with each room having a different theme. Although your Island exterior looks a bit too "cluttered" compared to mine

Also I tried on the clothes you left on your stands on the island. I put them back. but apparently as long as they have been in my pockets at one point it's added to the catalog and I can easily buy my own if it's not a rare item that you have to earn or ask someone who's willing to give it to you.

Thanks   At the moment, my house storage is nearly full, so I have some items stored outside.

I started my decorating with a four-elements motif in mind, but I ended up with six elements...I should probably just let my youtube video explain it:

Cool!  My controller is locked on auto-mashing A, and there's tape all over it, so I won't be able to use in-game chat, unfortunately.  I'm on a peninsula on my island way on the east, with holes and a telescope blocking any NPCs from coming near me and ruining my all-night meteor-wish-bash with endless auto-dialog.

It'll be open all night!  ...Every time someone leaves or arrives, I'll need to readjust my camera, but anyone on this forum who sees this and wants in on these meteors is welcome!  And I'll be opening up tomorrow and the day after, too; I'm surprised I have three light meteor showers in a row, but I do!

Okay---I've got a new Dodo code.  I'm going to keep my island open all night, but I don't need the tape, the turbo controller, and the twelve-sided die anymore, since the maximum number of star fragments you can get in a night (on your own island) is 40, and I've made more than 40 wishes tonight.  I think the max fragment count for visitors is 20; not 100% sure about that.

Anyhow, the new dodo code is :  LDPHQ

You wanna be careful when you're going afk in-game. the system will go to sleep mode if you haven't touched the controls plus it will kick ppl out upon entering sleep mode.

I've been AFK and asleep for the past four hours, but that hasn't happened to me yet---I woke up to use the bathroom just now, decided to check on the game, and I'm still in the same place I was when I went AFK, and still the same dodo code.  Maybe I deactivated auto-sleep in my Switch's settings?  I forget.

Going to go back to sleep now...
