She lightly opened her eyes and saw she had her hooves wrapped around a stranger. She screamed within herself and stared into his eyes, not knowing what to do. He glanced towards his sling that hung on his flank. Still there. I'm safe. Maynard entered Ponyville, and stood in awe at the monstrous sight that stood before him. But not before looking back at his house, which was now engulfed in flames. Letting out a sigh, he turned around, thinking, *Everything I once had... Gone...* He began to hurry off, calling out to see if there really was nopony around. "Hello??? If anypony's out there, could you answer me???" "What's your name? What's going on, here?" Maynard asked boldly. Maynard was so shocked by what he saw, he didn't even bother to "stay in the shadows". But he stopped, hearing a pony say something about death from behind. "Wait, what? Why would she do that?" he asked him. In the midst of an apocalypse, she had the audacity to go out and just leave a perfectly good shelter? Using his magic, Cricket's legs were shrouded in a brownish haze, along with a magical aura appearing over his missing leg, and continued walking over to her as he left the house. "Hey! When her eyes finally cleared, she saw that more than one pony decided to run into her house. Instead of screaming, she softly said, "How many of you are here...?" Looking around at his surroundings, he couldn't really see much that could stand out. "I can't answer that," he called back to the voice. "But I think I can find you by following your voice!"
