Silver stiffens a laugh over Trilby messing up various ponies’ names, and completely forgetting his.

“It’s fine, Trilby, really. We really didn’t have a chance to meet each other earlier. I’m Silver Slate, nice to finally make your acquaintance.” He extends a hoof and smiles.

Silver looks towards the pony dressed in royal attire, apparently the ‘Justice King’, and their team leader, it seemed. Perhaps this was one of the mayors he had heard about briefly. Regardless, seemed their objective was to defeat and obtain some sort of treasure from the Dark King. He also heard that they would probably be in at least two separate teams, which Silver agreed was a good idea. That many ponies with such varying abilities would’ve been a nightmare to organize.

Silver briefly scanned the room and tried to figure out whose team he’d rather be on, before turning his attention back to the Justice King.

“No questions from me.” Silver responded, awaiting whatever was to happen next.

Keen raised her hoof with a grin “I have at least one question!” she started “how many levels does this game have!?”

Shadow also raises her hoof but quickly decided against it. She smiled when she saw Astral, Pastel (she did frowned at her for a few seconds for the rude comment she gave to Trilby), and Samurai's other friends, even if Keen Fan is not with their team, at least there are still ponies she knew are with her.

When Tempest arrived, Kronos was intrigued at first. Then, he hears her talk in a somewhat flirtatious tone, but simply thought she was just fitting into her character; however, that didn’t keep him from blushing underneath his visor, which promptly gave off a “<3” emoticon on his hologram projector for everyone to see.

Suddenly, he sees the Dark King, and it turns out to be Mayor Black!! He was about to kneel down and ask for further instructions, but the Mayor gave all of them their designated task at hand: Defeat the enemy team.

With these new orders, Kronos proceeded to ask for further instruction, “Okay, so where specifically will each of us be assigned?”

"--Thundy! And Chelsea! See, I knew! Hehe..." Trilby repeats their names just as fast as they can say it, hoping that it will sound like he knew after all. It's not really fooling anyone. But thankfully, Silver is more forgiving. Taking the chance, he reaches over and shakes his hoof so much, he practically shakes Silver along with it! "Silver Slate! Good to meet you. For being so forgiving, we're gonna be good pals! You're gonna visit me more often, and I'll do a better job of remembering your name, and hopefully you won't let me get killed by any enemy video game monsters out there." He's a a real character, ain't he folks?

However, Trilby notices their king. "Mayor White? And he's not on life support?!" Trilby says to himself, but listens to their king for now.

The Justice King smiles at Shadow. "It's okay, you can ask me anything at all. Don't be afraid. Beyond those doors lies a hub world filled with entrances to main levels, side quests, shops, and characters you can interact with. The only thing you need to be aware of is dwindling numbers. Everyone, you all have a set number of lives. If you lose all your lives, you will get sent back to the real world. However, if your numbers fall by half, that means all the Bosses will storm my castle. Think of it like a Boss Rush. If you can't defeat the Boss Rush, then it's Game Over, bad end. However, if you can claim the TRUE TREASURE, then it's Game Clear, good end. My mission is to stay here and defend the castle by myself. But before I send you off, if one of you would like to stay by my side, you have that option. The choice is yours. ...Any additional questions?"

Bluebell chose ARTILLERY MAGE: Mystical weapon specialist. Turns any object into a weapon; upgrades any weapons she picks up in battle. Choosing this character puts Bluebell in mage outfit with a dark cloak, high-tech gloves, and a wrench for a mele weapon. She is then transported to the Dark Castle, where her fellow team mates are waiting.

"...Oh? Seems we have one more joining the party. Another Boss character to help us fight of the JUSTICE KING's champions." The Dark King explains. For now, it seems his detractors don't want to kill him anymore, which means Daring Decor can breathe a sigh of relief. "Bluebell! You made it." Tempest goes over to her side, using her hooves and tentacles to give her a hug. And since the Dark King was taking questions, Tempest raises a tentacle and asks one herself. "Would it be okay to team up? I think I want Bluebell by my side."

The Dark King considers all the questions. "Team up? Eh... I guess, if that's what you both wanna do." The Dark King grumbles a little. "The game has as many levels as there are boss characters. Considering how many are here, normally we'd have 6 levels. However, since two of you want to team up, that reduces the game to 5 levels. In a moment, the doors to my castle will open, and you'll each be assigned a different level to safe guard. The only thing you need to be aware of is dwindling numbers. If the others defeat you, they'll have 3 options. They could either Recruit you, which means you'd be part of THEIR party. They could show Mercy, which means you'd have the option to decide what you want to do next. Lastly, they could Kill you, which means you'd be sent back to the real world unharmed. If they defeat all of you, then they have the option to storm my castle and try and take the treasure, and I'd be the last line of defense. Which leads me to the first important order of business... Assigning levels."

The Dark King looks around. "Kronos, I trust you the most. You'll be the penultimate boss before me. In the mean time, I might just let you scout the city! See if you can find any valuable intel or anything to help you out in your battle. Hmm... Elusive Facts, you'll be the First boss." He explains. "Oh hooves... Why do I have to go first?" Elusive asks. "Tempest, you'll be the 4th Boss just before Kronos. Unless Bluebell wants to go solo, in which case she'll be the 4th and you'll be the 5th. Keen, you'll be the 2nd Boss. And lastly, Daring Decor, you'll be the 3rd Boss. So that's the order. Elusive Facts, Keen, Daring Decor, Bluebell if she wants to go solo, Tempest, Kronos, and finally me. Any final questions?" The Dark King asks.

"Yep...just like back in my world. We've got to protect each other at all costs everyone. We could either do it two ways: stick all together or complete quests in groups of two or three, depending on what abilities work together well." Kronos nodded and gave a grunt, signaling his understanding of his orders. With that, he goes ahead and tests his abilities and weapons again.

Arsenal:

Twin Plasma Cannons: Rapid-fire energy weapons that can decimate armor and shields. Strong vs. single targets and heavy armor. Weak vs. fast moving targets.

Energy Blade: Spawns a sword made of plasma to strike a long, narrow area. Deals heavy damage and reduces armor. Strong vs. armor. Weak vs. energy shields.

Earthquake: Deals massive damage at close range. Stuns at long range. Stun lasts longer against heavily armored units. Minimal slow against light armored units.

Abilities:

Phalanx Shield: Deploys a forward energy barrier that absorbs damage. Strong vs. projectile attacks. Weak vs. energy attacks. Useless against melee attacks.

Ironclad Stance: Increases physical damage resistance by 99% at the cost of 75% energy vulnerability. Cannot move during this stance.

EMP: Disables all energy and magic based attacks for a short period of time.

Trilby didn't mind Shadow tackling him to the ground. In fact, he welcomes it, and hugs her. They are dating, after all. "Hi, Shadow. I'm glad you're safe too." He gets up and dusts himself off. Mostly out of habit. No dust in video games. Still, he kisses Shadow's cheek. "Thanks for caring about me."

Though he did find Pastel's comment rude. "For the last time, I'm NOT a toilet paper salesman! I'm a haberdasher, and I'll have you know that I PRIDE myself on the quality of my work. When you've had a hat made by Trilby, you'll know it's the best thing you've ever put on your head." Trilby says with pride.

But any offense he felt washed away when he sees Astral. "Hey there, Astral! My good friend. So I guess it's true then, huh? We really are in game... At first, I thought I had died and gone to Tartarus, but seeing you all here and in crazy get-ups like mine must mean we are definitely in some kind of virtual video game world." Trilby goes over to shake Astral's hoof and welcomes him. "I think I'm going to need your help. Well, everyone's help, really! I'm not much of a fighter. If anything, I'm a coward... I tried to pick a different character that would let me stay on the sidelines, but I tripped on that slippery digital floor, and I picked this by mistake. Now it's a REQUIREMENT for me to be part of this party! So I'm really counting on you, Shadow, and the rest of Samurai's friends! Whose names are... uh..." Trilby look at them all and tries to remember. "I think it was.... Dynamo? Pencil, I think? And Pastry? And uhh... Was it Theodore and Cheddar? And... Who are you, again? We met once before, right?" Trilby was sweating bullets trying to remember all of their names. He clearly messed up Pastel, Thundy, and Chelsea's names. And since he only met Silver once, he completely forgot it. "...please don't hate me..." Trilby quietly begs, knowing he probably messed up just trying to get their names right.

However, after they all exchange some words, something happens.
The words "WAITING FOR PARTY..." disappear.
Lights come on, including a spotlight over the throne that stands above our champions.
The throne turns around to reveal a pony in royal attire. It is a mix of golden armor, fancy red tights, some high tech details, and a golden crown on his head.
But Astral and Trilby all ready know who this is. It's Mayor White!

"Oh my... I'm not sure why I was brought into this game, but it seems the game has called me to be your mentor and guiding ruler. Further more, being here has somehow made all of my medical issues go away... Guess I might as well introduce myself. Greetings everyone! In this game, I am the JUSTICE KING, and you are currently in my castle. You are the party of champions. Your mission is to defeat the champions of the DARK KING, and to obtain the TRUE TREASURE. I'm not sure what this treasure is, but it sounds important. Your party is rather large, so I must tell you that it's not necessary for everyone to stay in one group. You can split up into two groups. One will fight the major battles, while the other can go on side quests. The only time you would ever need to come back here to this throne room is if the castle itself is under attack. Any questions so far?" The Justice King, Mayor White, asks.

Dynamo blinked with a tilt of his head at the scene before him. He had never met Trilby or knew who had known whom. Hearing his name being called, Dynamo turned towards Trilby with a nod. "Eeyup. My name is Dynamo Pad, but you can call me Dynamo. It's nice to meet you, Mr..." He stopped as he didn't recall ever meeting Trilby before. "I'm sorry, but I don't think I know your name. Especially the mare your hugging for that matter. I think I met her once when we passed each other in town, but still." He winced slightly as he heard Trilby messing up Pastel's name, as well as the others. He felt it was best to wait for the others to give their names and introduce themselves.

He looked to the words "WAITING FOR PARTY" had suddenly disappeared. He placed a hoof over his eyes as lights had suddenly came on out of nowhere. A spotlight had soon shined over the throne that stood before the gaming unicorn and the group. Once the throne turned around, he was greeted by a pony in a golden army, red tights, high tech details and a golden crown. Dynamo's jaw dropped as the Justice King revealed himself to be Mayor White of Friendshire. He had never met either mayor's before, so it was a bit of a shock. However, he listened intently as the mayor had given his instructions on the task at hoof. He wondered how the group would be split up based on the missions that were provided. What made him wonder was who this Dark King and True Treasure were all about. "Wait. So, you're actually Mayor White? I hope you can forgive me, sir. It's just that this is the first time that I ever met you."

“I do have a feeling we have to work together to win...and it’s not gonna be easy. By the looks of this game, it’s a tabletop hybrid. Sadly, it’s luck-based, which means it will depend on the dice roll. We must defeat enemies and we hope they won’t affect our dice rolls.” Thundy said.

14 hours ago, Pastel Heart said:

Pastel struck a pose, blatantly showing off to him as she swayed her cap.

"Nya ha ha~ whacha think, Dyny? Looking for a dashing rogue to sweep you off your feet? I'll steal your heart, and your bits!"

@C. Thunder Dash @ExplosionMare @Windy Breeze 🥧 @GeneralDirection

Being out of the loop, she'd never seen this mayor before and didn't understand what was wrong with him exactly, but him introducing himself as the JUSTICE KING made everything click in her chuuni mind. She listened intently, and hung on the "treasure" part.

"Ooohh, treasure, huh~? I'd definitely like to take and redistribute that! Politics are not my forte, but a treasure hunt is! Show me the way! Maybe it's best if I hang in the back party though. I can't take that many hits."

She smiled awkwardly. Atleast she was genre savvy.

Dynamo turned towards the male griffon with a nod and sigh. "So, I was right in my assumption. When looking at the classes available, I was assuming that this was sort of like Ogres and Oubliettes. I haven't played it extensively, but I've heard about the rules. Having to go through battles, quests and such, while having stats and dice rolls. I can imagine this won't be easy, but working together will make things less difficult." He responded, wondering if Friendshire was here, or if they were far away from the town.

The gaming unicorn looked back over towards Pastel, before smiling with a slight chuckle. It seemed as if she was really getting into this game. "I think you look pretty awesome for a rogue. I do like ninja's and I guess ninjas and rogues are sort of the same thing. So, you pass with flying colors." He held up a hoof in a sort of thumb's up, before gaining a confused expression upon his face. "Wait. We stay at the same house. So, don't we share the same amount of bits? That doesn't make no sense, but then again. We somehow got teleported into this game without any explanation. So, I guess nothing really makes sense anymore." He would say, watching as the young mare spoke to Mayor White. He was grateful as it seemed that he wasn't the only one who hadn't met this mayor before. "I'm with Pastel on this one. I've never heard of this class before, so I don't know if I'm able to take a couple of hits. I'll still try to do my best in whatever way I can."

Dynamo gave a deadpanned expression as it seemed that Trilby was trying to cover up in not knowing everyone's names. He shrugged his shoulders as he figured that arguing would get them nowhere. He had to admit that even he forgot names from time to time. He would at least try to remember those names so as to not be so forgetful. The gaming unicorn raised an eyebrow over what Trilby had said over the mayor. "Wait a minute. Mayor White was on life support?" That wasn't something he was expecting to hear. He expected both mayors to be old, but still full of life. Even as the Justice King explained the rules, Dynamo felt something was off. He couldn't put his hoof on it, but something felt wrong. "I have a question. You seem to know a lot for what's going on right now. Do you happen to understand how we even got here, or for what purpose this game is about?" He asks, raising his hoof to gain the mayor's attention.

A blinding white light shoots out from the game's various monitors and headsets, growing and expanding at a phenomenal rate until the ENTIRE TOWN of Friendshire is covered in this mysterious white light. All of this happens in the span of 2-3 seconds; meaning there is no time for anyone to react or get out of the way. By the time you see this white light, it's too late. And then, just as quickly as the light comes, everything fades to black...

SELECT YOUR CHARACTER!

By the time everyone opens their eyes again, they find they are in an empty black void with a digital grid for a floor and ceiling. Each of them are cut off from their friends, awake in their own identical void. And of course, what woke them up is a floating Character Select window and the voice of the video game narrator saying...

SELECT YOUR CHARACTER!

"wHAT?!" Beryl looks around in horror. "WHERE AM i?!" After hearing that otherly voice over and over she curses in Breezie and asks "Whado you wand from me? To be a potion mage or sumting?!" She huffed in anger not realizing what was to come next.

"It's great to see you safe Trilby, I only wish you weren't wrapped into this digital fiasco. As for how we'll escape this realm, I'm not entirely sure."

Astral soon had his answer as a castle instantly materialized around the group, and sitting on the thrown was none other than Mayor White, the older pony whom Astral had met. The wizard was greatly shocked to see the Mayor standing.. err, sitting with such high health, his position demanding respect as Astral listened closely to the group's given quest. It seemed they had to pillage the treasure contained by dark forces, but the ponies who fought for the other castle may very well also be citizens of Friendshire, a theory which left Astral somewhat worrisome.

"As much as I don't like staying out of the action, I will volunteer to stay at the castle and defend our king; if all else fails, I should be able to erect a magical barrier around the castle for a limited time. But don't worry, I have a way we can keep in touch."

Astral drew his wand and incited a powerful incantation, his eyes glowed a bright white as a shockwave reverberated throughout the castle. Once Astral opened his eyes, his pupils had returned, but a blue haze-like mist now adorned his eyelids like that of King Sombra.

"With this spell, I can see everything that you see. However, as this spell takes a lot of concentration, I will only be able to communicate with each of you one at a time. If you need me on the battlefield, call on me and I shall appear. While the choice is entirely yours to take, know that you could be split into 8 teams of two, and I would think it best to team with those you feel most comfortable with. After all, teamwork can only have full effect when each creature knows the other fully well. Best of luck my friends."

After bidding good luck and safe travels to his fellow comrades of light, Astral bowed to Mayor White who had taken the mantle of their ruler.

"My king, I pledge my allegiance to you and our warriors! May our justice bring light towards the dark forces, and peace to this world's people!"

As per his King’s orders, Kronos went on and scouted the nearby city, which he considered a weird decision since scouting is more of a subtle task, and Kronos is as subtle as a zit on an adolescent foal. So, to fit his task for scouting, he switched the chassis of his suit for his scouter armor, which was basically a smaller, more mobile Mech suit that’s capable of cloaking itself with an optic camouflage.

With his scout Mech, Kronos went into the nearby city, staying in the alleyways and keeping all stealth systems engaged, including silent hydraulics, his aforementioned optic camo, and thermal lasers that are silent but deadly as they can quickly melt targets in seconds. He checked the likes of bazaars, slum districts, even crowded areas, all in the cloak of darkness.

Trilby takes a moment to pat Dynamo's back. "Name's Trilby. Trilby Hatter. This is my marefriend, Shadow Trail. I think we met at the kart race." Trilby explains.

"That's correct, I am normally Mayor White Addenbrooks. However, in this game, I seem to have chosen the Justice King character." Mayor White begins to answer Dynamo's questions. "I really don't know everything about this game other than what it has told me so far. I can't explain why we are all stuck inside this video game, but I can say that there are some ways to get out. One way is to lose all your lives. The other ways are to beat the game. You can get the Bad Ending or the Good Ending. Do any of these, and you'll all go back to the real world, safe and sound. Still, I can't quite explain why, but something tells me this game is important. I can't help but feel like it is imperative to achieve the Good Ending. Call it a gut feeling or intuition, but I am putting all of my faith in you." The Justice King answers all of Dynamo's questions.

He also turns to Astral. "That is entirely up to you, brave wizard. If you are absolutely sure you wish to stay, then I believe there is enough champions here that it won't be too much trouble. However, wasn't there one among you who was talking about not wanting to take part in battle? Anyone?" Mayor White asks. Soon, Trilby raises his hoof. "T-that would be me, sir. I'm not usually the battle type. I'm just a simple hat and clothing maker." Trilby says. "Well then, wouldn't you want to stay here instead of Astral?" Mayor White asks. Trilby lowers his hoof. He looks around. He looks at Shadow, his marefriend. He looks at all of Samurai's friends. He looks at Astral. He seems to have some hesitation and rubs the back of his head. "Well... Normally, I would like that, but... I think this game is affecting me. Just like how it's clearly turned you into a lively, jolly king... Being a Cleric somehow makes me WANT to go into battle, with all of them! In fact, I think I'm suppose to guide them to each new level, like a compass or something. I may be a burden... They'll have to be my first line of defense, and I might not contribute much, but... I want to go with them. Where they go, I go. And besides, I might not be a fighter, but I'd never be able to live with myself if anything happened to Shadow and I wasn't there." Trilby explains.

The Justice King smiles and nods. "In that case, the game begins here. GOOD LUCK, MY CHAMPIONS! May justice forever be in your favor."
With a wave of his hoof, the doors to the Justice King's castle open up.

Beryl chooses POTION MAGE: Divine alchemist of all things chemical. Can make various potions for combat, defense, and hexing purposes. Choosing this character dresses Beryl up like a mage in a fantasy lab coat, with high tech goggles, and always with at least one potion bottle in hoof. Also, for the sake of this game, she is not small. She is normal size. After making her selection, she is transported to the Dark King's castle.

The Dark King, or Mayor Black Ziggurate, notices one last member joining the party. "Ooh! Looks like we got a late-comer joining us. All right then. We now have another Boss Character to help us out. The game is telling me your name is Beryl, correct? Welcome to the collection of villains. I am your ruler, and you gotta stop the other players from getting the Good End. Hmm... Let's change the order real quick. Elusive Facts is the Level 1 Boss, Keen is the Level 2 Boss, Daring Decor is the Level 3 Boss, Beryl will be the 4th Boss, then Bluebell if she wants to go solo, followed by Tempest, Kronos, and I will be the Final Boss if it comes to that. Any additional questions, you mugs?! ... No?! In that case... GOOD LUCK, MY CHAMPIONS! May the darkness overcome the light."

With a wave of his hoof, the doors to the Dark King's castle open up.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As soon as all the champions from either side leave their respective castles, they will note that there is quite a large distance between the two castles. Though you can see either one far off in the distance, there are many different types of terrain between them.

Starting from the Justice King's castle...
There is a multicolor, checkered, light up road. Kind of like a disco dance floor, but it's a full on road. It leads to the next location...
A futuristic city! There is hover cars, random NPCs walking about in modern and sci-fl clothes, shape-shifting statues, a flying train that flies all across the city, etc.
Beyond that is various nature biomes; forest, desert, water, etc.
Beyond that is an abandoned medieval-style city, half of which is in ruins.
Further beyond that is a lifeless valley, where the land is covered with the bones of giant beasts and no plant life exists.
And finally beyond that is the Dark King's castle.

(Since this part of the RP will be done in levels and side-quests, I'll be sure to tag anyone playing a Dark Character/Boss character when you are needed. Otherwise, feel free to hang out wherever you like, or have a conversation with whoever you choose. :) Have fun, everybody!)

Let's huddle up everyone and see how we can go about this. I need everyone's insight." Thundy said.

Chelsea walked over to Thundy, shivering a little after she heard that there was a chance for a "bad ending".

"So, from where you're from it's called Dungeons and Dragons. I guess that, as well as Ogres and Oubliettes are sort of the same." Dynamo responded, nodding at the possibility of bosses. "Well, we are still in the castle. So, we don't know what the outside world is like. There may have been a preview on the game, but that's a possibility. I'm all for working in smaller groups, or at least strategize. With everyone having three lives, then we at least have a way to plan on how to defeat the bosses." At the mention of huddling up, Dynamo nodded as he looked towards the others. "Does everyone know what classes each of you picked? Was there an explanation to the class, as well? Maybe we can see who fits with who with each class."

The gaming unicorn was saddened that Astral wouldn't be able to go with them, but he nodded nonetheless. "I can see what you mean by that, Astral. With your abilities, a magical barrier will be perfect to defend the castle. That, or to at least stop anyone that's not us from sneaking inside to get a sneak attack. Plus, this way, we'll have a backup to defend the castle's front line." Dynamo explained, understanding that Astral would be able to defend the castle and group. He felt himself losing his balance as a shockwave reverberated throughout the castle. He looked towards the source to see Astral, who had a haze-like mist near his eyelids. Dynamo was fascinated by the plan, before nodding at Astral's explanation. "Thanks Astral and we'll do our best. With that spell you used, then we'll be able to get some reconnaissance done. So, it'll help in setting up any potential plans we might need."

Dynamo felt a pat to his back, before turning to see that it was Trilby. He blinked in confusion at his conversation, before giving a small smile and nod. "I think we did meet at the kart race. A lot of stuff had happened before, during and after the race. So, hopefully you can forgive me if I had forgotten either of your names. It's still nice to meet you and Shadow."

Upon listening to the Justice King's explanation, Dynamo was surprised with what he had been told. While he was relieved that they would be able to go home safely without any strings attached. He still wondered why the good and bad ending would affect the game, or possibly anything else. "I hope you don't mind me asking this, sir. However, I was wondering something else. You said that you don't know everything about this game, but only with what it had told you so far. If that's true, then does this game have a mind of it's own? If not, then what has the game told you. Considering you can't quite explain everything, but can you tell us anything the game has told you that's important" He was still skeptic and worried as something didn't feel right. However, he knew that working together with his friends would help give them the answers they needed. Hearing that Trilby was a Cleric class, Dynamo turned towards him with a nod. "I don't know if a Cleric is supposed to guide others, but I do appreciate the help. I know a Cleric is a healing class, so we'll be able to keep everyone stable in case we get into a difficult battle." He would say, nodding as the Justice King had wished them luck in their quest. All the while the castle doors beginning to open up for them to explore the world.

“Wow, you got a nice 'fabulous cyborg-tic' look, I wonder what kind of role did you pick mister?” she complimented him.

A lot of conversations were happening around her, but the first one Pencil was able to pick up was Dynamo’s comment on her costume. She wish she had heard of the character he was talking about since she sounded really cool. Alas, her only gaming experience was that in the Friendshire arcade and with very basic games from Sire’s Hollow.

“I’ve never really played any Kirby before. My hometown has a very limited selection of video games. That character sounds really interesting, though. I wonder if my outfit was inspired by her...” Pencil replied to him.

Next, a regal white pony she had never seen before appeared, announcing himself as the Justice King. His real name was Mayor White, something Pencil felt she should’ve known a long time ago. Regardless, she paid good attention to what he had to say, momentarily distracting her deer with a berry bush so she could listen well. He spoke of a “Good Ending” and a “Bad Ending” of the game they were currently in. Pencil was worried about the “Bad Ending”, but was glad that on further explanation, both endings were deemed safe in real life.

Pencil pondered for a moment, trying to decide which ending would be more realistic to pursue. The “Good Ending”, of course, would be beneficial for the game, but it would require a lot of risk and battling. The “Bad Ending” was an easy way out, but based on what the king said, there may be consequences from it in the real world, even if they don’t happen right away. Stepping forward, Pencil spoke up and told the king,

“I’ll do my best to get the ‘Good Ending’, since you said it may help the town. I’ll team up with someone in battle and help everypony fight,”

She took a shaky breath after her speech, feeling a little nervous after just talking to a king. She hoped she had said everything correctly, especially since she felt like she was making everything up as she went along. Her nerves were momentarily subsided when a bright light emitted from Astral. He was performing some sort of spell on himself, causing his eyes to take on a scary look. Pencil folded into herself out of fright, looking away from his eyes. It wasn’t until he explained himself that she understood the situation.

“Oh, uh, that’s a neat spell, Astral!” Pencil exclaimed as she stood up from her previous position. “I’ll definitely know when I or any of my teammates need any help,”

Speaking of teammates, Thundy had recommended that everyone huddle together to decide on their teams. Pencil figured that was the best way to prepare themselves for battle. Before she walked over to the huddle, Pencil thought of who would help her the most as a teammate. Her tool could make some of her creations into weapons, but she felt more like a support character than an actual hero. She would have to pair with someone stronger who she could assist when needed.

“A huddle sounds like a good idea, Thundy. I have some ideas of who I wanna pair with, but it’s probably best we all agree on teams together,” she told the griffon.

Beryl stares in shock, more from being normal pony size than anything else, she didn't realize what the dark king said before being rushed out. Once she finally snapped into reality.. or rather get her head in the game, she looked around, she wasn't going to fight- just go along. It was the easiest option after all. Potions need ingredients, ingredients can be grown or made.

In front of the castle was the lifeless valley- one she somehow knew held special bones for her potions. She was desterbed by the thought but it was just a game, right? She wondered in it to find bone fragments and sometimes what seemed like moving mouse skeletons. She picked up some after a small prayer and checking to see if it was okay to pick up. Some times when she prayed, she would get a strange 'no' feeling and thus would leave the bones. After getting enough, she continued to go to the ruins to collect stones.

"I wonder what the others are doing." She stops and realizes how her voice changed. "WHAT?!" Her shreek can be herd for a few miles. "Why do I sound like this?"

Well, things were certainly lively now! Even Pastel was having trouble keeping up. She listened to the king as much as she needed to, eyes gleaming with adventurous possibility.

As the doors opened, she trotted up to Dynamo's side and smiled.

"So, neither of us are frontline fighters, wanna stick together? I've seen your type around, handsome. Playing cards around the kingdoms just waiting for your next payload... You stick with me, I'll show you how to get more wealth than you could ever dream of, and stick it to those snobby nobles in the process. You in? Otherwise... Maybe I'll just repossess that fancy monocle of yours. Mwehehe~"

Since it seemed everypony was here, and got their questions sorted out, now was as good of a time as any to get going. The castle doors opened, and Silver moved up to join the others who had gathered together.

“I am a Dragon Master.” He said in response to Dynamo’s query. “My main ability is, well, my dragon, of course. He doesn’t seem to talk but he does follow commands that I give him. I also have armour made of dragon scales and bones, a sword, and a whip. I don’t feel like my character is frontline material, but it doesn’t seem like many in our party are, so I suppose I could be if need be. I have plenty of experience adventuring in the real world so perhaps that’s worth something here. One thing is for sure, regardless of what teams we end up on, we all need to work together if we’re gonna have any chance of reaching the good ending. I do agree with Thundy, we should try to establish a base of some sort, and maybe locate the shop to find out our possible upgrades.” He suggested.

“I’ll come with you!” Pencil volunteered. “And if we come across danger or something, I can always create a defense creature,” she added.

She followed the group towards the outdoors with the griffons in lead. Pencil looked right and left for any potential enemies but found none so far. Perhaps they weren’t far out enough yet to find anything. Still, enemies could come from anywhere, so it was best to always keep watch.

Pencil pointed her paintbrush around like a spear, threatening anything that so dared to leap out of the shadows. Her facial expression was more defensive than imitating, looking more scrunched than stiff. Pencil was hardly a threat to anyone or anything, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to play the hero.

As the group trekked on, Pencil made sure to look behind them in case they were being followed. Pencil was probably being a lot more paranoid than she should’ve been. She supposed this was just the side effects of being a support character. Always protective, always secretly terrified. She felt a bit defeated at this knowledge, but kept a firm grip on her brush, just in case something really did happen. It was important for at least one pony or creature to act as a guard.

The Justice King just shrugs at Dynamo's last questions. "I am afraid I've pretty much told you everything I know so far. The game doesn't appear to be alive, but keep on your hooves, for it might try to make you act more like the video game character you've selected. The rest you can figure out on your own. Don't keep your party waiting, young champion." The King says.

Trilby waits for Dynamo to join the group that is heading outside. He doesn't want Dynamo to feel like everyone else left him behind. When he does finally join the group as they walk along the checkered road, Trilby does his best to reconnect with the group. He especially tries to catch up to Thundy, who seems eager to take the lead. "Hold on a second, Theo--I mean, Thundy! I know Dynamo said otherwise, but this Cleric character I picked seems to have some pretty good navigation powers. It's telling me the first level is somewhere in that city up ahead. There's also some shops and side-quest entrances, if we're interested. Did someone say anything about splitting the group up in half or something?" Trilby asks.

Trilby also can't help but stare at Silver's awesome outfit. "Did you say you were a Dragon Master? That's so metal..."

At some point, Trilby notices Pastel's outfit and how simple it is. He looks left and right a second. " *Cough, cough*...I could probably make that outfit for you in real life, if you wanted..." He says, mumbling a little and trying to cover up what he said with a fake cough. Not that he was doing a good job of covering up what he said or anything.

The city is not far away. The road to it is short. When they get there, the first thing they'll notice amongst the various buildings and sky scrapers and the various video game NPCs that are just walking around.

He especially tries to catch up Thundy, who seems eager to take the lead.

Not that he was doing a good job of covering up what said or anything.

The city is not far away. The road to it is short. When they get there, they first thing they'll notice amongst the various buildings and sky scrapers are the various video game NPCs that are just walking around.

The gaming unicorn frowned as the Justice King didn't really have any answers from his previous question. It looked as if even the mayor only knows so much as the game goes along. "Thank you, sir. I promise we'll do our best." He would say, before following after the others. He smiled, sighing in relief as Trilby waited for him. He was afraid that everyone had left him behind, but it didn't seem to be the case. Joining up with the group, Dynamo nodded as he spoke up to Thundy. "Maybe we should at least give Trilby a chance, Thundy. If he's saying that the first level is in the city up ahead, then we should see how it goes. Plus, it'll give us a chance to look up shops and a place to rest if we've traveled far. We can't expect to beat this game in a day, so we'll have to see what's possible and what's not." He would say, raising a hoof in regards to Trilby's question of splitting the group. "I was thinking that, but I wasn't sure what everyone else's classes are. I know Silver said he's a Dragon Master, Pastel is a Rogue, you're a Cleric and I'm this Force Gambler. So, maybe it would help knowing who gets put into what group, so we'll have the most effective strategies in mind." He would say, hoping that everyone would be able to work together.
