Humorously, in Animal Crossing New Leaf, during the Summer Solstice and Winter Solstice, they go a full 24 hours of sunlight in summer and 24 hours of moonlight in winter. (Despite the fact your village is nowhere near the poles where a full 24 hours of either day or night is possible in real life)

Just wait until the Winter Solstice and you can have your 24 hours of moonlight in my old town on the 3DS
