Li’l Cheese: filly or colt?

It all started with one show developer alleging Lo’l Chees is a colt. Another claimed the case is using male pronouns for everything during script (possibly because some languages use male pronouns as neutral as well, but that’s beside the point). It looks like the fandom leans more on Li’l Cheese being a colt tho. It’s still rather inconsistent what gender to tag in derpibooru tho

I can’t decide what gender I would consider that foal. On one side, it makes sense the male pronouns used neutrally, so that normal make them a filly. On the other hand, I have imagined my “mane”  OC as a filly-looking colt. Eyelashes and shit long before Li’l Cheese . After all, his appearance is basically a pony of these guys from Disgaea

To be fair, Rumble had a filly shaped muzzle despite being a Colt so there is precedence

No, they avoided the foal’s gender as well

A notorious difference between Rumble and Li’l Cheese, is that Rumble lacks eyelashes. Li’l Cheese has them. Eyelashes have been the universal indicator of a character being female in animation, even in pony
