I DON'T THINK ANY ONE FRAGMENT HE SAID HAS ANY REAL VALUE!

MaJORITY of the fans, Artist, programmers, ect. will still support G5 becuse it is the

value and ritual that we love as a community.

Oh yeah, there is a video of Donald Duck living and working in Nazi-land (even clouds there are swastika-shaped) that's really hilarious.

Yes, however, there is a difference. It did not use to be politics shoved into every piece of entertainment, or at least, it was not obvious.

Today, it looks like the movie/whatever is created by first deciding on the political message and then creating a story around it. Most stories do not need to be political.

The 4th generation wasn't any different. So, you just came out of the times of unwoke garbage, into the woke garbage, to put it in terms you can understand.

Politics relates to power. Power is a concept older than humanity. It's always been this way, even before your memory. Everything comes down to power, at least for the primitive species.

Not true.

Can you tell me the grand political message of Jackie Chan Adventures? If there is one, I don't see it.

And in some cases, religion has even more influence than politics.

Hasbro has their agenda, like any other company. If that agenda was to have a political message, they would. But they don't seem to have that. They do however seem to not want to have Bronies around. I don't know why. They have slowly pushed out everyone that was influential to the success of G4, but kept the Mane 6 for successful toy commercials.

I have no hope for G5, unless I want to dive into the new young fans when that show comes out. And if I do, how do I explain myself for liking a show for children? That's tough one! We are only getting older, it has been 10 years since G4 was released, and it was difficult to come up with some excuse then.

Bronies have more money than children and can buy more or expensive toys.

Also, MLP:FIM was called racist by someone who tried too hard to find some kind of a political message. I guess according to that person I couldn't do anything without it having some kind of political message (even trying to sell CCTV footage as a TV show would probably make some people find some kind of message there).

And what if next gen is great. I find the negativity in assumptions  before we even have so much as a trailer to judge to just be foolish.

As for the woke whining I find most people crying about the new SW being sjw or whatever to be so laughably ignorant of sw lore that they couldn't tell Filoni from Campbell or an AT-AT from a Loth-cat. So their opinion holds about as much water as a sive.

Yes, but they scare away the usual buyers, which are not children, but parents to buy little ponies for their kids. It is definitely something that makes Hasbro choose conventional customers over Bronies.

I must admit I am increasingly concerned that Hasbro will go out of their way to ruin G5 for most audiences out of spite for the brony community. I think they've written us off as a source of bad PR and not worth the money in our pockets.

They need to bring back Lauren Faust for G5. It is just that simple. Any other option will not work. (If you don't like Rainbow Roadtrip being standard pony episode stuff, which I dislike, too much G3)

G4 cannot continue, and Pony Life and Equestria Girls both being Hasbro's attempt at G4 just proves my point.

The possibility of such a thing happening is already out there. The leaks for gen 5 hinted that they might well go in this direction. Now that was early in development and thus it may well have changed by now. Overall my interest would be highly dependent on how overt the messaging is. If it's just having a bit more representation then I'm fine with that. If we're talking about direct messaging and themes then it will be a very different case and it would require very good writing on top of the propaganda in order to maintain my interest. Either way we won't know until 2021 (possibly 2022) and until then I'm gonna be cautiously optimistic for G5.

I don't know if the show is going to be woke garbage. It doesn't really means anything this days besides the show might be stupidly written.... and that about it.

Well, with all the current movements and agendas going on right now, i wouldn't get surprised if G5 or the next TV show is woke shit , in contrast of the leaked "adventure focus" that was leaked.

But in the bright side, its a kid show after all , i dont see how Feminist/ woke movements can care about a kids show aimed for 5 year old kids ... yes i heard about paw patrol controversy, and was like WTF??? . People are looking around trying to find something to get offended.

After all, they are magic ponies / unicorns /pegasus that love everyone , how can u get a bigger inclussion agenda in that?

Woke won't work in a fictional society where the leaders are mainly female characters holding all the power of authority. Instead woke would sound more like oppressing someone stepping out of line for a point of view. If there was to be a woke agenda in Equestrian society, then there would need to be a more gender based re-balancing of authority in a girl's focused cartoon or a separate stereotypical antagonist group to be the target.

We should be a bit worried about outside influences on a property. Another property Hasbro owns Magic the Gathering simply banned cards because art, name, and flavor text was deemed offensive rather than being broken game play wise.

Let's have an update, shall we. There is a decent chance that H-Bro shall get woke ...

... but it seems that it will only be able to get woke once. As far as MTG is concerned, just copy cards you want from internet and print them. Chances are they'll be higher quality that the cheap crap they are selling. Play with your friends. Let them crumble under the putrid weight of their false virtue. We deserve better. We deserve a company of the players, by the players, and for the players. My black orcs shall remain black and orcish.

lol, OT but so true, the American cards are of much worse quality than these printed in Belgium for Europe, we instantly can guess which cards are from America. They are looking way more grainy, and it is apparent which English products come from US and which not, most of us prefer English cards, but are often like Oh, that is American print? Nevermind then.

Too bad the promotional products are like all printed in America. And to my surprise - even the foreign language versions: Yes, the German promo cards are printed in the US.

It drives me insane each time I see I get an American card.

I don't buy cards anymore.  I don't play it online either. Got an account back when Arena was in beta but I didn't want to invest loads of my time into a failed company. Just get everyone to cough some cash for pigment ink, print the decks, and have your own event for the new set at someone's home. You'll have your deck in a day, you just won't be able to compete with it in official tournaments. Now, I'm not implying anything ,but I've also heard that Chinese bootleg can be pretty authentic ;)

The shows/movies/comics even for kids are written by adult humans with their opinions reflect on their works. The key is the subtlety. I dont think G4 Mlp show was apolitical but it was well-made and i love it, that’s all to it. If G5 is a woke masterpiece then i wont complain. Woke doesnt mean its bad, woke garbages are bad, any bad-written fiction with any ideology injecting in it is bad anyway.

I'm a nihilist in general. I do not want to watch a propaganda piece about the evils of capitalism by a capitalist company. Because the hypocrisy reaches no end. I like MLP because it is an escape from the awful planet we live on. I do not want to see human based politics in a fictional world.

I bet you'd watch a movie or show that talks about how bad socialism is.

I swear, people like this only get mad when something has commentary for politics that they disagree with. It's always right wing anti-SJWs that try to make this kind of point. A show isn't bad because it's "political", it's bad because it's poorly written. It doesn't matter if it's political or not. If the writing is trash, then it's worth complaining about.

Animal farm is a pretty boring movie. I could not stomach watching it.

I think when I read stories with certain themes like environmental or political they are good if well written, and u can tell the person writing it is passionate about it. The problem is when themes r just there oozing out and just no good writing. A lot of the time its just sort of signalling to others although the biggest problem is still bad writing. It's like for example in new dr who there is an episode about environment and they are literally talking to ur face about the theme. That's not how u tell a good story. It's show not tell. I know old who had that problem too where they were too talky but it feels just like new dr who with current seasons is so badly written, the characters feel flat and dont get enough time for development. There are literally just some points where the characters seem to be talking of nothing of consequence and the plot is just stuck there. Or endings that feel anticlimax.

And ofc I don't mean theme focussed books like Philip K Dick and things of that genre. In those cases the characters may be flat but the theme is still very well developed.

For example good lgbt characters are thought of in fully and with proper character to them.

Often at times it feels many of them just seem to be thrown in idk, and usually not great is retconing unless its done well. Sorta not well thought out. Ofc sometimes it is just to please fans in a way im glad if they do that.

They still manage to misrepresent ppl tho and there are still certain sorts of characters that ppl avoid mostly. For example a lack of butch lesbians or poly characters and when u do see poly its usually the same two women one man (not bad ofc and in the end the audience is mostly hetero mono so it makes sense to the ppl making it).  I'm not saying ppl should be forced to put in diverse characters either. The main cast at least can be all white or all black or all asian whatever. But I like convincing worlds and characters and a story that was passionately crafted and had a vision.

Diversity is good but diversity without the context or literally feels like ur shoving a character in there because u want to score points with a crowd is eeh. Or well it feels like that if u don't think of the writing as a whole. Mainstream media I feel is not that great with lgbt characters. Although tbh I don't find a whole lot of characters relatable generally x3 so yeaa

Another thing some books don't translate well to screen I guess ;P or at least not without the right person

not sure what you consider woke but idk either way i'd give G5 a try. We all should.

If by woke you mean blatantly inserting a character that's supposed to be like a ''racist/homophobe'' or even D. Trump (like someone previously said), then yeah I would cringe to hell and back

but if it's more like ''hey love is love, your gender identity is valid etc.'',p much telling the audience it's okay to be who they are, i don't see any problems with that
